  • In this video we compare the 2024 Chevy Equinox EV 3LT and the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV RS AWD. These are Chevy's latest Ultium vehicles and may be cross shopped by certain buyers looking for an electric SUV. The Chevy Equinox EV starts in the low $40k price range while the Blazer EV starts in the upper $40k range. Both vehicles feature the same 85kWh battery package and total system output from their dual motors (When equipped with AWD). The Equinox EV has slightly more range when compared to the Blazer. The Blazer offers slightly more interior space but less features are available to option on the vehicle. If you're in the market for an electric SUV, are either of these vehicles on your shopping list? Let me know below!

    I got to test drive an Equinox EV a month ago and loved it. Is bigger than it looks. I’m 6’8” and lots of room. Sat in the Blazer EV at the same time and actually preferred the Equinox EV. Both were attractive in person. The Equinox EV I drove did have super cruise.

    WTF is GM thinking. No super cruise on what is supposed to be the better vehicle. Just stupid. One of the things that helps to lower prices is to have each vehicle equipped with the ability to do everything if you purchase or subscribe to the feature. Blazer is now off my list do to the lack of Super Cruise. I'm no fan of Tesla but every vehicle they make has the ability to add FSD to any of the current models. I'm going to look at the equinox in Oct when I ditch my id4. However at the pricing other makes can be had with more features and faster charging. I would suggest that at least for the next five years everyone should lease. This protects you under warranty and assures that as tech increases you keep up with it . Batteries in particular are changing all the time as is the time to charge.

    Glad you mentioned your damaged back...I too have damaged lower back since childhood hood that was damaged more by reckless driver in 2021.
    So driving and sitting is very important, I can't handle any vibrations in the seat, no lumbar inflation...How is the drive quality in the Blazer/Equinox is it smooth? The frame takes the vibrations on bad roads, it's not felt in the brake or gas pedal or the seat?

    • @CarsMadeSimple
      @CarsMadeSimple  22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@G-Rated There are objective measures to sound systems but to my ear its quite poor at this price point. When there are $30k vehicles with better sound systems (including from GM themselves) I don't know how it can be acceptable to most people at $40k+. If you don't care about audio, then sure its fine. Anyone remotely interested in listening to music would question it or find it lackluster. The most I experience vehicles, the most I see where cost cutting happens. In the Blazer EV especially there is no excuse as to why you have to get a RS RWD to get the Bose system where its not available in the RS AWD.

    • @G-Rated
      @G-Rated 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@CarsMadeSimple You’ve also claimed the front seat comfort and visibility are poor and you’re the only person I’ve ever heard make such comments. Customers I’ve come across of the Equinox EV (also lacks an upgradable audio system) and Blazer EV do not complain about the sound system being of poor quality. I absolutely love music so the sound system is very important to me, a good one is something I look for, but this seems to be a go-to for the people who can’t find actual faults with these vehicles. Same thing with the Blazer’s sibling, the Cadillac Lyriq. Reviewers who can’t find faults with it claim the sound system sounds poor. What sounds good is totally subjective, so that’s neither here nor there.
      It’s really not that big of a deal that the Bose system isn’t standard on cheaper AWD models, it could be something they add to that configuration later on. You’re obviously being very nitpicky here.

    I’m sure a Traverse or GMC Acadia EV will be coming on the Cadillac VISTIQ’s platform. The Blazer exists to offer Chevy customers a more premium and comfortable experience than an Equinox. If you think the Blazer is pointless, check Chevrolet Blazer sales again.

    • @CarsMadeSimple
      @CarsMadeSimple  22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The problem is the Lyriq exists and it's not that much more depending on how you spec one. I don't see the Blazer EV being a very successful model for GM over the long haul. Then you throw in the Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX and it'll dilute sales even further. If it offered better technology for the money, I could see it being a good option.
