- Apple's new M4 iPad Pro is finally here and it is one of the most impressive pieces of hardware that I have ever seen with an impossibly thin design, crazy power, and a beautiful OLED display... but is it enough to win me over?
Buy M4 iPad Pro: amzn.to/3ygkbU6 - วิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี
I have new 13 inch Pro here (arrived yesterday). The screen is unbelievably beautiful in real person as you said every single colours pop up like firework in inky night, more than my OLED iPhone. The weight is unbelievable light.
I also have the 13 and agree. It is amazing. I hated the 12.9 that a family member had, but this feels completely different in hand.
A Studio Display with a 120Hz OLED display would truly impress me. I'm convinced that if such a product were available, I'd seriously consider picking one up.
It’ll probably cost you a kidney though 😅
I thought Apple’s thinnest product ever was the polishing cloth 🤔
😂
Thats what i was thinking lol
It was the sticker.
Apple Card?
I ordered the 1Tb 13” coming from an 11” m1. Haven’t been more excited for anything in a long time
You needed it why? The M1 is still a good iPad
Good to hear about the 13”. I got the M1 but it was definitely too unwieldy for me. I’ve been mainly looking at the 11 thanks to it finally getting a better screen. Not making any decisions until WWDC
Now my wallet is as thin as my new iPad Pro.🤣🤣
Underrated comment 😂
Love the Holst in the background!
I got my 13" in Black with matching Keyboard & Pen today - WWDC could be very interesting in a month or so...
However, regardless of whether you choose to use your MacBook Pro 'more', that screen on the iPad is superb!!!!
I ordered the 11in M4 Pro, went to go pick it up in store. I checked out the 13in, and changed my order 😅 13 is so light and thin, WOW!
Same here. Ordered the 11 and decided to cancel and get the 13. Glad I did!
and it snapped like a biscuit on bending test😅
@@kaikaikikitis that true??!
@@kaikaikikit I think that's only a concern if you frequently travel with it, which I don't. It's not like an iPhone where its in the pocket always
@@SaltAndVi still have to make sure you don't sit on it accidentally. Looks so fragile compared to previous version...
I just got my iPad Pro 13 inch and it’s absolutely incredible how thin and light this is. I’m someone who definitely appreciates it as I use the iPad as my daily driver for everything and don’t own a MacBook. So far the experience with the hardware has been awesome. I’m skeptical about WWDC and what it means for iPad OS as apple has put these powerful chips in the iPad over the last few years now and has bottle necked the software. but year after year I hold out small hope they will improve iPad OS to the point of total usefulness for full time iPad owners
Loving my 11” M4 Pro, sooooo light, awesome Oled screen, much snappier than M2 with certain apps, keyboard & pencil nice upgrades.
Wow the FaceTime camera is superb!!
Literally ordered 13inch iPad Pro to replace my 11inch 2nd gen iPad Pro. I know this going to quite an upgrade and I totally love the form factor, thinness and weight reduction! I can’t wait to pair it with new Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil pro!
Glad you clarified you literally ordered it, or else I would have thought you were just telling a hypothetical anecdote about ordering it.
I had the 11” M1 so just IPS and it looked good… then had MBP the past few years but this OLED is amazing! I’m blown away with the device, just now need to figure out what I can do with it besides watch movies, draw and play video games… lol!
D2D says he can run his multi cam setup with this and loves that.
I just picked one of these babies up!
Thanks for sharing 😊 ✌🏻
Thanks Greg
Apple: "With ProMotion, you can feel the smoothness while you drawing with the pencil"
Also Apple: *proceeds to put 60hz panel on the M2 iPad Air.
Pro Motion. Why would it be in the non-pro iPad? 🤦♂️
@@ArthropodSpidey Apple Pencil Pro supports the M2 iPad Air, despite being called "Pro".
@@ajaygadgetech Purely a commercial move from Apple. There's no downside for them to offer support for the pencil pro on more iPad models, the more pencils they sell the better. And then knowing that some people will want to eventually upgrade their iPads to 'pro' in order to get the pro motion which is smoother for drawing.
@@supersoundset I couldn’t find Apple under Charity organisation list… let me check again…
@@ajaygadgetechthe Apple Pencil Pro has its pro features
I've always liked your videos, Greg, but you having Holst: The Planets (Jupiter) in the background at the beginning...BRAVO!!🤘🏼
Hah, thanks.
Regularly watching Greg since long time, i feel meeting a family member daily 😊 feeling like a big brother unboxing the new iPad Pro 😊. Love all his tech videos ❤️
Thank you so much 😊
Feels like watching my son open his ipad . lol
They added the battery health in settings
Yet they didn't add it to previous iPads (at least it's not on my M1 iPad Pro).
@@carlstevenwilletts The technology wasn’t there yet! 😂
This looks like a great complement to my M3 Max. But I am managing fine with my dirt old iPad 7th gen 10.2.
Thumbs up fot the DBZ T shirt! and the Music! Pure youtube quality!
Nice job.
Looks amazing if you live in UK and EU not only no stickers but no charger either
The word you are looking for is "Europe"
Yeah I really think those bigger iPad pros are better for just desktop setups and nothing else! But I'm glad they at least made them lighter! 🙏🏻👍🏻
Went to the apple store and had deja vu to the 9.7 so easy and light to hold absolutely loved
I’m so use to my 11” 2020 iPad Pro that I keep forgetting the camera is now on top instead of on the left side. Definitely something to get use to and the fact I bumped up to the 13”.
Thank you, for this first real look at Apple's new M-4 iPad Pro. As for myself, if buying would pick-up the smaller 11-inch M-4 iPad Pro model. Because, now it has all the same features of its larger "big brother" (smile...smile).
I have an iPad Pro 12.9’ 2018 that fits very well my needs for almost 6 years. Only now, with this 13’ 2024 version, I can see some good reasons to upgrade it to the newest one.
Just picked up my new iPod pro. Wish me luck!
The music 🎊 🎉 EPIC!
Does it have a headphone jack if so is it 300ohm support??
Love the video ❤❤❤❤
The 13inch is my favorite size because i use it basically as a computer
Plus with the cellular i never have to worry about wifi
I love how honest and realistic you are compared to a lot of other tech TH-camrs! ❤
Definitely try to edit videos on the iPad Pro
What microphone and camera do you use? I’ll buy it if it’s not too $$$. Love your vids! 😊
now will they improve iPad OS?
Just unboxed mine before seeing this video!
Enjoy it!
@@GregsGadgets thanks!
I have the 12.9 M1 and have been happy with it but this new 13 M4 is absolutely gorgeous, I’m probably going to wait for some big sale maybe a year from now. Then I’ll trade in a couple pieces of old tech for the 13 M4 Pro
Should I still use a screen protector if I buy the iPad with the nano texture?
What are the specs on the one you bought for yourself? I always copy you. LOL Loved the video.
I got the 1TB model, don't copy me 😅
The first 5 minutes of this guy review is him talking about how thin it is
Dang it, Greg. You've done it again.. You're making me regret my 11" iPad Pro decision. I always wanted a 13" and I actually bought one once but I returned it because it was just too big and heavy. Ever since I've always just gone with 11"
All the negative reviews had me second thinking my purchase, but I'm glad I took delivery. Yes, expensive, but for me it was worth it. I was one of those questioning the decision to go thinner, but hey, it does feel pretty good.
Have you seen apple track’s video? He bend tested the ipad pros.
The display and performance coming from a 2018 Pro model is a great improvement, the speakers however are awful in comparison, very disappointing and absolutely an argument against making devices thinner.
And after looking at a load of videos on this iPad Pro generation no one touch’s on the sound quality at all, very strange.
I love your content 😎
They should change aspect ratio
Is that Jupiter from the album the planets by Gustav Holst very good pick
Absolutely
Battery comparison, please!
I just can't use it with iPadOS. If only they would put. MacOS on it...
USB c are no longer at the mods for the 13 inch version. Not sure about the 11 inch
why didnt you get a matte one?!?
I wish I had mine in Australia we still dont have it yet
How come your cable is white I thought the 13 inch is black interesting maybe not the case
I want a 15” iPad Pro. Does anybody remember the 12.9 original iPad Pro with the huge bezels? I want that form factor but an all-screen design.
That M4 on an iPad is running at almost twice the speed of my M1 Mac Mini… Wowzers!!!!!!
Very nice video
It’s not just how it works compared to MacOS. Also there are missing software. Fx I miss Apple Motion.
I want the specs in an iMac like a large 32 that won’t happen but probably 27 inch iMac
The next status symbol from Apple. Hey I got my own coffee shop hotrod Apple product too. I just wish I could better learn how to use it.
Is it just me or does the refresh rate on the m4 ipad look smoother. I noticed this when my ipad arrived yesterday and i compared it to my old m1 ipad pro. Btw the oles screen looks so good
It feels that way to me too. That or the m4 is so snappy.
The base M4 9 core is 13,000 in multicore, which is only 8.5% faster than the base M3 8 Core, if you want the 10 core you will have to pay macbook pro pricing £1,600 for the 11" and for a better comparison screen size wise £1,900 for the 13"
i think in the USB-C spec it says that USB-C female port is 4.2mm thin.
so apple can make it even thinner to 4.2 but after that its game over. unless they get rid of USB-C port and go 100% magsafe
Does the iPad cover with keypad scratch or mark screen when you close it
No
Will wait for wwdc to see if they do anything to ipados
If I could use files and MS Office on this just as I can on my Mac, I would buy it instantly. I am waiting for the WWDC with some hope before making a decision. Otherwise, my reliable 2018 ipad pro is ok for the next few years.
How much Money?
I have the MacBook Pro M1 and IPad Pro M1 the problem with the iPad is that it is basically a big phone you can’t do a lot of things you want to and the problem with the MacBook is there’s no pen or touch the Magic Keyboard makes the iPad a crap heavy laptop.
** The fix - an iPad running Mac OS and a MacBook Pro keyboard and trackpad that the iPad attaches to the keyboard would have its own battery and some heavier duty extra processing this would be 5000% better than anything!
Can someone explain to me plz
How is it for the iPhone, the OLED display can reach pretty much same brightness but with just 1 panel rather than 2 like for the iPad Pro?
Larger panels have a hard time reaching the higher brightness, there's other benefits to dual stack such as better efficiency and lower burn in risk
@@Isaac-fp1nx by better efficiency you mean it should look better on the iPad vs the iPhone simply cause of the 2 panels? Or like better power usage etc?
@@619WWEFAN both actually! At least I've heard from another reviewer that the blacks are even deeper with dual stack but I'd have to see that for myself. But yes better power efficiency for sure, since it's splitting the work in half technically
@@Isaac-fp1nx ah okay. Tnx for the feedback 😁
And Greg I see you giving hearts mister 😜
@@Isaac-fp1nx hey again. So, I did a side by side comparison for the display for my iPhone 15 pro, and the 11 inch iPad Pro M4
You were right. Even when placed at exact same brightness? There was a noticeable difference in the displays, and the iPad did look better.
I’d be a bit surprised if apple doesnt do the same 2 oled panel idea with the iPhones too
Anyone know a Photoshop alternative for iPad? It’s the only thing holding me back from getting the iPad
Affinity
Can’t wait until Jerry rig. Everything gets his hands on one of these iPad pros 🤣
still happily waiting for his iPad mini 6 bend test 😂
it's out already his test just convinced me to not buy it until next gen🤣 so damn fragile...
@@kaikaikikit yes, but they make excellent cutting boards😂
@@stevensonrf for etching it's perfect😂
Any temptation to go for the 13” died when I saw the Home Screen and how spread out those apps are, what a waste of screen realestate. I already didn’t like the update that got rid of the side panel of widgets that squashes the apps to the right a bit to make them more compact.
iPadOS will have a new UI and home screen layout. But that is in September, though previewed in a few weeks. But that will help the aesthetics.
Greg get the 11 inch ipad pro and compare with the 13 inch and see which one you prefer. I need you to make this vid to decide for myself too😂
Honestly imagine lugging around a 13 inch laptop screen. The 11 seems more practical if you travel with it, and the 13 if you mainly stay in one location
Awesome

I love your down-to-earth videos. Laymen's review without the ultra-tech bloat of other content creators. Your channel is a welcome change. Cheers.
did you know that you can assign task to the pencil when squeezing it. Like if you want it to open NOTES the squeeze the pencil and NOTES will open.
I could immediately tell to speed difference from the M2 iPad Pro
Not that they don’t want thinner products, but that thinner is not better than better. Depends what you have to give up to get there.
No stickers?!?!?! The ultimate cheap-out. Not good, Timmy Apple!!
Yeah, there’s no way to appreciate how thin it is until you feel it in your hands. And if you have a previous iPad Pro, the difference is significant.
It’s thin but sounds worse than my m1 12.9 I think.
For being the THINEST iPad EVER, even device EVER, that sure is a THICK box 😂
So where’s the Calculator app?….
Now you know why I could not resist the temptation of getting the new M4 iPad 14". For Video work - it is just Wow.
You mean 13”?
@@ericenright3721 yes
Sorry if I missed it but did you get the nano textured glass? If so, did you like it?
I didn’t get it, but I played around with it at the store. It’s good if you consistently work in bright environments and reduces a lot of glare, but the screen does look less vibrant - so it’s a trade off.
I WANT IT, give it to me😊
iPad Pro is actually 13" unlike the new M2 iPad Air 13" which is actually 12.9".
Okay
I will say unboxing Apple products is less fun today then it used to be. We can't even get stickers anymore.
It's definitely peak iPad. They don't need to upgrade it for a few years at this point! lol
I don’t think it’s 12.9 anymore, just 13 in. 😂
My biggest issue with the iPad is that it doesn’t have Xcode
IDE and coding apps work the same as Xcode with iPadOS. e.g. Codebrew.
I ordered the iPad Air 13” but am concerned that it’s 1.0mm thicker than the iPad Pro 13”. 🤔 ha ha
Am watchin
10,000 unread emails.. sheeeesh!
Let’s wait for titanium iPad Pro, even lighter and thinner,,, in 6-7 years! 🌝
It's not your problem with the software. It is not having MacOS and everything that entails and allows and that has been built up over the last few decades that is missing. I have several must-run programs that run only on MacOS. I can't and won't give them up. I have an M2 iPad Pro and only use it for TH-cam and a few touchpad specific apps. Yes, it's still the software, not you, or me, even if the hardware is outstanding.
