      I love pecans and walnuts - but my fave is peanuts. I don't eat them often, but I put a few in a cookie recipe I make and they're so good. I'm not too concerned. My question of the day would be about nut fats in general, and particularly those three - my dietitian (bariatric diet) has me keeping my grams of fat under 50 per day (as well as my carbs). It's working well for me, but I just keep wondering if nut fats are 'good' fats, should I be as concerned about them as I would if I were eating fats from fast food? (which I don't do) I guess I'm asking if our body uses 50 grams of healthy fats per day or if I'm defeating my purposes if I go over by a few. I'm not on keto but I do make your recipes when the fat content is low or I can sub, so thanks for all the great content!

      @@AccioPadfoot12 Since you are following a bariatric plan - do a small serving of nuts (about 10) to see how that fits in your fat goals for the day!

    Very informative video, keep it up! we both weighed over 300lb about a month ago, but over the month we've both lost over 20 pounds! We're tempted on doing the Keto diet, but just trying to gather as much info as possible lol. We've both tried so many sorts of diets. We're on Slimmingworld now and its great. Any advice?

      I am so proud!!!! I would slowly transition and focus small parts of keto - (1) cut sugar and processed carbs - (2) 1 cup of greens at each meal (3) use an olive oil or avocado based dressing on your greens - keep it simple and combined with slimming world it will be great!

    I do like walnuts but How about pistachio?

      1/2 cup SHELLED pistachios is around 13-17 grams of carbs (depending on size), 6 grams of fiber. Keep in mind this a a good amount of pistachios. For folks who rely on net carbs (I have clients on both net and only carb counting) it would be 6 net carbs.Happy to answer additional questions!

      @@blahblahblah344 Ok - so that is prolly 1/4 c shelled pistachios - love that you portion it out (like we said in the video it is easy to go overboard). Think around 7-8 grams of carbs OR 4 net carbs (depending how you count).

    Would it be ok to add EVOO and air fry the pecans/brazil nuts/macadamia nuts/walnuts, or should they all be consumed raw only?

    Any views on seeds?
    I thought peanuts were a legume. Not in the "Nut" category. You treat it as a bean nutritionally. High carb at that.

      Hi! Peanuts do fall in the legume category but most folks treat as a nut - therefore I like to discuss to cover all basis!! Yes - higher in carb!

    Clarification please? About 2:13 minutes into the video, you say, Just 1 ounce of chestnuts have 8 g of carbs, an ounce of chestnuts is 3..." Did you mean to say, 1 ounce chestnuts has 8g carb, an ounce of WALNUTS, 3g?" Pecans are great!

      Hi! Thanks for asking and my apologies on the mixup! 1 ounce of chestnuts is 3 chestnuts!!! 3 chestnuts is 8 g carbs! Does that help? Happy to clarify more!
