@@AndrewAMartin I’ve never heard about any of that and I’m a pretty big fan of both Cetera and Chicago.
According to the interviews and documentaries I’ve seen, Peter wanted a break from constantly touring & a solo career (like Phil Collins had with Genesis) outside Chicago but they refused to let him do one in 1986. So he naturally got miffed at them and left.

I miss the summer of 1984. Being 18 going on 19, hanging out at the shopping mall, talking to your friends on the phone, video game arcades, MTV, occasionally sneaking into the cinema, Spencer’s Gifts adult back room, the pretzel shop, a girl who caught your eye at the mall, and last but certainly not least, FM radio. If you couldn’t buy the album you copied it from the radio to a good cassette tape.
      Happier times back then.
The video was very well done, especially the editing with the opening percussion part. The timing was perfect.

Thanks to Rhino for offering this is HD. Probably the most memorable Chicago video ever. I guess it was songs like this and Along Comes a Woman that Peter Cetera didn't like doing (and maybe the videos) that caused him to leave (or at least that was always the impression I got). Kind of sad because the band found a whole new fanbase in the 80's and his solo career fizzled out after a few years (though he did put out some good songs).

Almost what is happening today. I was there in the 80's. Really would love to go back to a 83 party. People today could not survive our parties.

When I think of Chicago, this isn't one of the 1st songs I think about, but it's a bop nonetheless. I can't believe this song's turning 40 in 2024!
