Lyrics:
I don't wanna hear about it anymore
It's a shame I've got to live without you anymore
There's a fire in my heart
A pounding in my brain
It's driving me crazy
We don't need to talk about it anymore
Yesterday's just a memory
Can we close the door
I just made one mistake
I didn't know what to say
When you called me baby
Don't say goodnight
Say you're gonna stay forever
Oh, whoa, all the way
Can you take me high enough
To fly me over (fly me over) yesterday
Can you take me high enough
It's never over
Yesterday's just a memory
(Yesterday's just a memory and)
I don't want to live without you anymore
Can't you see I'm in misery
And you know for sure
I would live and die for you
And I know just what to do when you call me baby
Don't say goodbye
Say you're gonna stay forever
Oh, whoa, all the way
Can you take me high enough
Can you fly me over (fly me over) yesterday
Can you take me high enough
It's never over
Yesterday's just a memory
I'm running
I was running for the door
The next thing I remember
I was running back for more, yeah, yeah yeah yeah
Don't say goodbye
Say you're gonna stay forever
Oh, whoa, all the way (all the way, all the way, yeah)
Can you take me high enough
Can you fly me over (fly me over) yesterday
Can you take me high enough
It's never over, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
Can you take me high enough
Won't you fly me over (won't you fly me over) yesterday
Can you take me high enough
It's never over, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa

this is BY FAR my favorite power ballad of the 80s.
It ticks all the boxes......big hair, brilliant tune and a lunatic on guitar...love it

2024 and still love damn Yankees ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Yo igual!
Just didn't make enough albums together! ❤
I do man
very childish
I get all emotional hearing this. Love Tommy Shaw, Styx and Damn Yankees. Where has the time gone? The 80's were my time, I miss it so much.
Wow, they're not tatted up. How refreshing.
2024 if you're listening, you're legendary.

Not legendary, just a fan of good music. The fact that this song was my 11th grade... well, nostalgia isn't a bad thing

No just old
Tommy Shaw (Styx) Jack Blades (Night Ranger) truly two of Rock’ greatest vocalists. A beautiful blend together
Ted Nugent
This song man. It gave me chills when it came out. The vocals, harmony and Nuge on the guitar…just, wow! Most underrated song of 1990
It did very well on the charts
it hit #3 on the charts. what do you mean by underrated? why is every good song "underrated"?
God I loved this when I was 13❤
Listen to that wall of sound protecting Ted from those bullets!!
@@juanwick523 because underrated is the most overrated comment on you tube along with "whose here in 2024" and these people dont know their ass from a hole in the ground..
I would give anything to return to that place where I enjoyed this wonderful music.
Blades and Shaw's voices blend together so well...what a great harmony
Love these two singing together
Honestly, they didnt need Nugent!
@@kennyhouser9052 But thankfully for us listeners they had him, his solo is freakin amazing!! 😎🤘
Gonzo had to come up with the shooting scene while playing.
One of the best vocal duos of all time.
Jack Blades and Tommy Shaw were made to sing together. Pure harmony
You have to listen to Jack in Night Ranger if you haven’t already. Wow, sister Christian is amazing.
Ted Nugent is pretty awesome too!
Styx Ranger
I do know Damn Yankees made a 2nd album but I don’t recall the album being as big as the first one probably by then grunge rock was now king and I was into grunge at 11.
Indeed !
I wish people would just take a second to remember how intense the radio was in 91. I literally remember sitting there hearing High Enough, Lithium, Enter Sandman, and Even Flow in one sitting. The radio was on a total different level back then.
+chabadoogi Yeah. All you needed was a radio with good frequency as good songs flowed through the airwaves.
+chabadoogi Today it is 100% different!!!!!!!! All radio station go 100% for ratings - PERIOD!!!!!!!! So to get higher ratings they will play a good guitar ballad, then a soft rock song - then a country ballad- so that EVERYBODY will wait their turn for a descent song!!!! They would rather have EVERYBODY listening for 30 minutes - than the entire world listening from 15 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!! It is all about the NUMBERS - they don't give two shits about the music they are playing - RATINGS - RATINGS - RATINGS - RATINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fulgencio Pritchett You can say that again. I miss this kind of rock.
+chabadoogi If that was your experience in 91, you were lucky. Here in South Australia the radio was SHIT! Even the two stations (1 local, 1 national) that did sometimes play metal only did it occasionally, and most stations were the worst kind of commercial, wimpy, yuppy, pathetic pop and regurgitated soft-cock rock travesties that you could not imagine even in your worst nightmares. In '91 I was an angry young man!!! And most of it had to do with Adelaide radio.
bad paladin Sad to hear about that. Good music these days is hard to find.
Tommy Shaw, oh my. I saw him all three solo tours, then Damned Yankees, and twice with Styx. I love Tommy Shaw.
After all these years... this song STILL gives me goosebumps...

Power ballads are a delicate thing. They can be clumsy and lean toward head banging brain damage, or go the other direction and have the effect of eating too much sugar. This one walked the razor's edge to absolute perfection. Magnificent job, gentlemen!
It's funny I am 80 and I. Still can rember all the wards or these songs but this new music can't even understand what there words or what there songs are about

The harmony in this song is killer.
0:34 SHAWN MICHAELS!
@@princealbertz - Glad I’m not the only one who thought that when I was a kid, although I actually thought it was Tommy Shaw, not Jack Blades who was the Heartbreak Kid.
The Nuge's most subtle song by far (and IMO his best, since he wasn't front and center).
The blended voices is definitely 100 %

I'm 60 and still listen to all these great bands from the 70s and 80s they don't make music like this today miss them days
When these guys got together for the short time thet did, the talent they unveiled had to be the greatest gathering ever. Who could ever ask for more.
Best vocal harmony recorded in the 1980s. Tommy and Jack nailed this one to the wall. And the strings were a brilliant addition. One of Ted’s best solos ever…this is a top tier power ballad.
Love Ted!!!
They were a bonafide Super Band dude!!!
Released 1990
How is Tommy 70 now? He looks so good at his age. I just saw a video of him on Tik Tok and am amazed at how young he still looks. He was my favorite. 😊
This super band rocketed on the charts Tommy,Jack,Uncle Ted and Mike just before the beginning of the grunge era
Watching Nugent kick that door down and come out swinging that solo is just the best, is it campy? Hell yeah! Is he having a blast? HELL YES!
Yes! That part is badass. I also love him playing the priest at the end and the look he gives the camera. He's fun to watch in these vids lol.
Not being a fan of this light type of rock, I can safely say that good old Uncle Ted is the best thing about this video.
Meanwhile Ted is thinking "As if your tiny Earth bullets could stop me? Ha Ha Ha! I laugh!"
Blades and Shaw's vocals really go so well together. I love the harmony in this song. And Nugent's guitar just the perfect blend.
Deadly Teddly took this song even higher with those licks 🤘
Tommy Shaw's music and voice are undeniable. So talented. Happy he made his way back to Styx.
I find it weird seeing him play an acoustic guitar instead of an electric
I have always loved him. He still sounds amazing!
Just saw him tonight with Styx. In 2023, he sounds the same that he did in 1983. Amazing musician.
Tommy Shaw, Jack Blades and the truly one of a kind Ted Nugent create quite the trio and singer songwriter combination. Damn those Damn Yankees!
Don't forget the drummer Michael .

Whoever is reading this, I wanted to say I hope you have a great day and that God loves you so much that He sent His son, Jesus, to die on a cross for your sins and He rose again from the dead three days later. God Bless!
And also, He doesn't want you to go to Hell, but He wants you to go to Heaven with Him but you have to be Saved. How do I get Saved you might ask? Here are the steps below on how to get Saved!
1. Believe that God sent His Son
(Jesus) to die on a cross for your sins and that He rose again from the dead 3 days later.
2. Confess to Jesus that you are a sinner and ask forgiveness for your sins and Turn away from your sins. If you sin again after asking forgiveness of that sin, ask forgiveness again and try not to do it ever again. Jesus will forgive you!
3. Ask Jesus to come into your heart and your life and for Him to be your Lord and Savior forever.
4. Build a Personal Relationship with Jesus by Praying and Reading the Bible daily and Live for Him Forever.
I'm Praying for you and you are loved!
(Romans 10:9-13))
@Mr.Lightshine I am a Christian and a very strong believer. I see the goodness in everyone that they are capable of. That's why it is important to share the gospel of Christ Jesus. @@scottmiller715 LOL I'm almost 40 and on a kick for this type of music lately. There are some more popular songs I remember and love (Mr. Big- To Be With You has always been a fave). Ironically most of the songs I remember from commercials for rock ballad compilation CD's from decades ago. This song was one of those. Same with 'Headed For a Heartbreak' by Winger, 'When I See You Smile' by Bad English, etc I heard excerpts from the songs in a commercial a handful of times 30 years ago and they resonated with me so much that one day the memory came to me and I found them .😂😂😭😭

I worked as a office admin when this song came out. I loved it so much. This song brings me back to a time of no cell phones, no tablets, no I Pods. I had a landline phone only, had to write paper checks and send them out in the mail, everything was either cash, check or credit card. Concerts were fun as we only had disposable cameras. The leather Jackets, spandex and spiked heels on us gals and our sky high hair. Those were the good old days, a era long gone and now the only thing i have is my cassette tapes and youtube. Wow!
