My Father (Jim) was a huge fan of Phil Collins. We had this play at his funeral today. R.I.P Dad 05/11/65 - 18/02/24. I hope we did you proud, I love you! xx
Hi, I was born on the same day as your dad, I'm battling cancer and I'm a big Phil Collins fan too.... This song at the funeral, beautiful. Allow me to send you a big hug, he will surely be proud of you from up there...
I know this very well now.. I personally had to go through the same thing myself for several months before my family could get to me to help me because they lived two states east, so happy I'm with them now
This song is relevant for all times. It hasn’t changed ,we just see it more. Strife, famine homelessness, political unrest, murder, genocide , racism & disease , domestic violence, child trafficking and sexual abuse. I could go on. We see it more thanks to the media and social media. If it wasn’t for wireless technology we wouldn’t see half of what we do.
My aunt loved to sing to my kids every night. In a small town nestled between rolling hills, there lived a girl named Emma who often felt lost and alone. Every day after school, she wandered to a quaint little church at the edge of town, seeking solace in its warm embrace. It was her refuge, a place where echoes of faith filled the air, comforting her weary heart. They sang of love that conquers fear, of grace that heals, and of dreams that soar. With every note, Emma felt her worries fade away, replaced by the promise of something greater. The choir’s music began to reach beyond the church, spreading hope throughout the town. They performed at local events, touching lives and bringing people together. Emma noticed the smiles that lit up faces as the music played, realizing the profound impact of their message. One evening, while practicing under a starry sky, Emma reflected on her journey. She felt a deep sense of belonging, knowing they were shining a light for others to find their way. Inspired by her experiences, Emma started to write her own songs, weaving her feelings into lyrics about faith, resilience, and hope. With her friends’ encouragement, she began to perform her songs during choir events, sharing her story with the world. The more she sang, the more her spirit lifted, transforming pain into purpose. As the seasons changed, so did Emma. She blossomed into a beacon of light in her community, using her voice to uplift those who felt lost. The little church became a hub of hope, where people gathered not just to listen but to share their own stories of struggle and triumph. Together, they sang not only of faith but also of love, friendship, and the beauty of new beginnings. Through the power of music, Emma found her voice and her purpose, inspiring others to embrace their journeys with courage. The melodies that once filled her heart with longing now resonated with joy, reminding everyone that no matter how dark the night, the dawn will always break, bringing the promise of a new day filled with hope and love. Emma’s story became a testament to the transformative power of faith and community, showing that through music, lives can be changed, hearts can heal, and dreams can come alive. As she looked around at her friends, she knew that together they were creating a symphony of hope, one note at a time. I lost my husband, moved in with my aunt when things went bad for us Kelvin owe all my gratitude to you for changing my life from being hoemless to owning a home. help me thank her in prayers Feedback@kelvinpro . com this are the exact lyrics she sang to my kids every night.!!

My Father can't speak English but he sings this song as someone who has been in a place where it is fluently spoken. I like to listen to him always when the music is being played and principally when he begins to whistle. May the Lord protect him for long

Phil Collins' song 'Another Day in Paradise' really touches my heart. The lyrics talk about homelessness and make you think deeply about people who are struggling. The music and his voice together create a strong and emotional message. Every time I listen to it, I feel emotional and more aware of the world around me. The way Phil Collins brings attention to homelessness is powerful. It’s a reminder that many people face hardships every day while others might not notice. His ability to make such a serious issue feel personal and immediate is what makes this song so impactful. Hearing this song makes me want to do more to help those in need. It’s a call to action to show empathy and take steps to support others, whether it’s through volunteering, donating, or simply being more aware and compassionate in our daily lives. Phil Collins’ commitment to social issues shines through, and it’s clear he uses his music to make a difference. The song might have been released years ago, but its message is timeless and still very relevant today. It’s a beautiful, thought-provoking piece that continues to resonate with listeners and inspire change.
Why? If you look at all the views of this video, you could compile change. truly, when you see someone that is homeless, struggling, in need. Ask them, what can I do? And do with in your means. To change the world, start with YOU.
Phil Collins might want to visit some of these places the philippines slums many smiling and happy people, while modern soceitys have much less smiles, keeps everyone working hard and buying lots of things they dont need.

The wealth dispersion is disparaging. So the only split is really rich and dirt poor. Middle class is almost gone. It breaks my heart. Most super rich can’t see past their own nose to even care. So sad
For good reason. This is a shitty virtue-signaling hypocritical song from a guy who’s making a song about how the homeless are in need all the while making even more million of dollars than he already had off of this song. Ugh.

When I was a little boy this song came on driving home on the road with left over Thanksgiving dinner we had with grandma. My dad stopped in the middle of one of the town squares, and gave all of the left overs we had to the homeless. One of the most valuable lessons a father could ever teach his son.
I'm 19 and I remember my Mum bringing me up listening to what would be considered “old songs ”, classics. For me songs of the 80s, 90s and early 2000s are what I grew up listening to, so they seem familiar. Personally, I believe old is gold. I hope my dream to become a singer comes true and I get to sing songs like the ones I grew up listening to.
Same! I'm also 19, and grew up listening to artists like Phil Collins, Sandra, Queen, etc. because of my Mom. I'd also add the songs of the 70s to your list, though. Hope your dream comes true soon! Do you make any covers? If so, do you wanna share them with us?
A letra é mt forte. Não tem como vc ouvir ela e não refletir nas pessoas que vivem em situações miseráveis. É isso que faz essa letra ser tão poética, e ao mesmo tempo tão reflexiva!

When you listen to the radio you hear all the artists and out of all of those you may just like one or two. That's why "modern" music "sucks". There is and has been all good music you just don't know where to look.

Many times when I went up to Indianapolis with my husband I would see homeless people on street corners panhandling. Or see them sleep under the bridge.
First of all i dont think you're elvis Presley. And i have done a lot for homeless people. Bought food for them with my own money. Provided shelter for them and much more. What have you done for your less fortunate neighbors ?
@@redram646 Ok, you got me, you are correct, I am not Elvis. Only you would really know how much of a helping hand you are. I just know how much people usually overstate thier helpfullness. Especially when they add . . . "and much more". Ya, probly not. For example: I bought them food with my own money. Usually means, I gave them my leftover fries from lunch on my way back to work. This world is full of good intentions, but when it comes down to it, it is still, "those people", "not my problem", "they put themselves there". Still negatives vibes about it on the inside, but broadcasting good intentions on the outside. Talk is cheap. I'm not saying this is the case for you, your comment just struck a cord, normally it wouldn't. If you are giving more then just "fries" or the loose change in your pocket, good on ya'. Every little bit helps. Unfortunately though, all that does is allow you to walk away with your head held high. Even if you handed out a $20 bill, every hour of every day, it still wouldn't have an impact. It would for that moment, but once that moment is gone, it's back to reality. But what can we do ? "We", can't do anything. It is a problem way above the pay grade of anybody reading these comments. Sad but true. All we can do is ease the process. Like holding the hand of a dying friend, 'cuz that's all you can do. What am I doing Miss Rabbit(if that is your real name)? I am currently managing a group of 37 people on a rotational, transitional basis. What that means is, these 37 people will be gone and diferent people will be here. The people that leave here, typically go into housing. Sometimes they do not. Where is here ? Camp Hope. It is where you go when you need to get your life back in order. Housing, I.D., drivers liscense, birth certificates, jobs, physical/mental health issues. All of these issues can be addressed here in this little Community of Hope. Who are these people ? You got it, homeless. Of all walks of life. Homeless for many different reasons, not just drugs. What am I doing ? I became/stayed homeless to help people become homefull. I give people a different perspective on life while they are staying here. That's the best I can do. I can point out the silver linings of life that sometimes loose thier shine. That's what I'm doing, I'm giving my time. Why, 'cuz I can. Anyway, I wasn't trying to offend you, or anyone for that matter, and this comment is getting too long. Not too often do people "help" other people without some kind of recognition/conformation. More often than not, people "help" other people for themselves. To make themselves feel or look better.

As she looked around at her friends, she knew that together they were creating a symphony of hope, one note at a time. this song was widely negatively received by critics because phil was the only one back then to speak up and say something and people don't like you when you're honest. god bless you Phil.
This song was negatively received because it's terrible.
who was negatively criticizing it?
GenericRubbishName 1) what are you doing on the video if you say 'it's terrible'? Just curious. 2) it's one of the best songs of all time. period. Ignoring what shit critics say.
terrible? have you ever heard the CRAP in the charts now? Drake? Kanye? Bieber?. Absolute douchebags.
I'm glad it's simplistic. It's a simple message,He is telling a story from someone else's perspective. Powerful message and meaning. One of the best artists of all time. Hands down.
When you have been homeless, you learn that there is no greater treasure than home. Its a sanctuary and a comfort.

The Lyrics:
She calls out to the man on the street
"Sir, can you help me?
It's cold and I've nowhere to sleep
Is there somewhere you can tell me?"
He walks on, doesn't look back
He pretends he can't hear her
Starts to whistle as he crosses the street
Seems embarrassed to be there
Oh, think twice, 'cause it's another day for you and me in paradise
Oh, think twice, 'cause it's another day for you
You and me in paradise
Think about it
She calls out to the man on the street
He can see she's been crying
She's got blisters on the soles of her feet
She can't walk but she's trying
Oh, think twice, 'cause it's another day for you and me in paradise
Oh, think twice, it's just another day for you
You and me in paradise
Just think about it
Oh Lord, is there nothing more anybody can do?
Oh Lord, there must be something you can say
You can tell from the lines on her face
You can see that she's been there
Probably been moved on from every place
'Cause she didn't fit in there
Oh, think twice, 'cause it's another day for you and me in paradise
Oh, think twice, it's just another day for you
You and me in paradise
Just think about it
Mhm

This song makes me grateful for what I have.
This song makes me want to tear down the world we have and build a better one from the ashes.
Go watch Runaway Train by Soul Asylum. Same effect.
Why? If you look at all the views of this video, you could compile change. truly, when you see someone that is homeless, struggling, in need. Ask them, what can I do? And do with in your means. To change the world, start with YOU.

How can you be homeless just buy a home 🤦🏼♂️
Millions are just one monthly salary away from being homeless.
@@BW1875 those of us at poverty or lower can not keep up with the market rate changes. Which is NOT based on the condition or quality of the home. Market rate is adjusted in order to increase total taxes collected. Thus not based on the incomes of the actual groups of people at various income levels living in the area. So even if your paying 2/3rds of income to rent of a yearly income of $12,000. You can suddenly find yourself out of a home, when they do a market adjustment for the area unrelated to the value of the home your living in. And the persons who are suddenly homeless are not at fault what so ever. Its society and its greed that screwed us over.

This song is for humanity. Share goodness and mercy to everyone.
I'd be honored if some fans of Phil Collins & George Michael would take a listen to my acoustic piano & vocal performances of AGAINST ALL ODDS and PRAYING FOR TIME on my YT channel in tribute to these 2 legends of the 80s. Live acoustic with no autotune or digital editing. Thanks and peace.
MAKALILIBOG So Amazing wish and Great act !!!!
MAKALILIBOG facts.
Bless you brother
Ah real music, song like this makes me forgot about the garbage that get played n glorified today...
We should ask how we got there, when everything began to mess up.
80's fans, there's an amazing new 80's inspired band today..

+Ryuujin1078 Tired of seeing this over and over again, just stop it. When you listen to "old" music you are only listening to a sub section of who were the "good" artists. Right now? When you listen to the radio you hear all the artists and out of all of those you may just like one or two. That's why "modern" music "sucks". There is and has been all good music you just don't know where to look.
+Ursinia Pretty much what I was about to say. If you are one of those people who says "There's no good music nowadays" It's not the music...it's you.
And on the subject of you only remembering the good and ignoring the bad, feel free to take a look at the charts when this song was at it's peak. Particularly check out one chart position behind Phil. New Kids On The Block...now that's real music right?
I mean for god sake look at the top 10. A particularly shit Kylie track. Millie Vannili...now that's a level of garbage that would rival Bieber. Three different cod-rave remixs, all equally awful. This wasn't a golden age of music that's passed.

He’s one of the greatest songwriters ever.
Phil is Awesome x
No
❤ yes I am and will continue to do so as long as real people will appreciate genuine talent and music in it's pure form.
This is why today's artist's make a new song every 6 months, their shit gets old but this piece of perfection doesn't age.
Edit:I'm so happy and amazed that there are people who understand what i wrote these days
Couldnt be truer!
I'd be honored if some fans of 80s/90s classics would take a listen to my acoustic piano & vocal performances of AGAINST ALL ODDS by Phil Collins and PRAYING FOR TIME by George Michael on my YT channel in tribute to these 2 legends of the era. Live acoustic with no autotune. Thanks and peace.

I find the lyrics to this song more relevant today, than ever before.
It will always be relevant because there will always be homeless people on the streets.
Many times when I went up to Indianapolis with my husband I would see homeless people on street corners panhandling. Or see them sleep under the bridge.
Melissa Cooper I know it’s so sad: People think it can never happen to them, but it can, in the blink of an eye
This song...has such a warm feel despite talking about homelessness and feelings of abandonment. Never forget about compassion, sharing and love !
I would give a homeless person all the cloths off my person if they needed them , and walk home naked with my head held high
@@redram646
So how many times have you seen a homeless person . . . and walked home naked ?
First of all i dont think you're elvis Presley. And i have done a lot for homeless people. Bought food for them with my own money. Provided shelter for them and much more. What have you done for your less fortunate neighbors ?
@@redram646
Ok, you got me, you are correct, I am not Elvis.
Elvis. You're very long winded. And somewhat confused thinking thos is some sort of pissing contest or something. If you really do all the things you say you do ill give you a pat on the back .
I am 19 years old. But i love this song. It felt like i lived the 70s , 80s and 90s before 😢
My mom used to listen to this song when I was a little girl, but I wasn't aware of the powerfull message that it has until now.
Such a good song 😢
