This songs brings tears to my eyes. Reminds me when I was homeless and addicted to drugs and I'd walk the streets thinking no one cared. Been clean and sober nearly 17 years now and this songs still takes me back to a dark place 😔

I'm thinking of my best friend I lost last April. Nowhere in God's word does it say dogs or our animals go to heaven, but this song makes me think of him. We used to go bye-byes in our truck. He loved road trips and listening to music along the way. He was my everything. I often make a voice like he's talking, and he says "it's REALLY GOOD papa here with the Lord. Silly as all get out, but it comforts me

My husband has helped more people to get back on their feet than anybody else I know.
Much to my chagrin.
However there was one time at a Greyhound bus stop for a little old lady asked him for help to pick up her bags and when he did she screamed for help.
So, this day and age it's just hard to have a warm heart

I know this very well now.. I personally had to go through the same thing myself for several months before my family could get to me to help me because they lived two states east, so happy I'm with them now

This song is relevant for all times. It hasn’t changed ,we just see it more. Strife, famine homelessness, political unrest, murder, genocide , racism & disease , domestic violence, child trafficking and sexual abuse. I could go on. We see it more thanks to the media and social media. If it wasn’t for wireless technology we wouldn’t see half of what we do.

I heard this song in 1989 when I first got married. When I have hard times or good times I remember this song because we all have something to be thankful for. You give thanks all year long and not just at Thanksgiving. Alot of people don't care about things anymore or anyone. America people are so ungrateful and we all take things for granted. We don't know how lucky we are until you see someone that is a lot more unfortunate.

I first saw this video when it came out in 80s. I was 7 and the video was so profound in my mind. I lived in a very rural area where homelessness wasn't really a thing. To this day I have a huge soft spot for homeless people and help whenever/however I can. I am not a soft kind person, working on it, but this video affected me deeply

I'm not sure that this person created this line or not but a legendary John Wooden quote, the former UCLA College Basketball coaching legend said "you have never lived a perfect day until you have done something for someone who will never be able to pay you back."
My mom and Dad still support 4 kids and 5 grandkids without a blink…when asked…I wish I could help in the same way…
