It's the only Mario Kart hack to include nearly every Standard Kart to date, even the ones from the first two Arcade GP games. All that's missing is the purple kart from the E3 2000 tech demo, and the Standard Kart from Arcade GP DX.

-MK0: MK0, short for Mario Kart 0, is an older MKDS ROM Hack that Ermii helped create.
-Raynbow Road: a remastered version of one of the first well made custom tracks. The original was made by Ray.

For a shitpost of a game, this seems like a lot of effort, that is assuming that most of this was made by the modder and this wasn't a compilation of other mods
The only thing from another mod was that MK0 track.
Luigi's Mansion 2 was just a reskin of Mario Circuit from Double Dash.
we made everything from scratch apart from some stuff like Luigis mansion 2 which was a texture hack from a beta track

there's not much to do after this. we've already accomplished making new characters, karts, hacks to add extra characters, and i don't really think there is much interest in MKDS anymore for it to be worth it

I'm glad that they closed Donkey Kong's mouth. In the original he had this big, stupid smile and it was funny but very awkward to look at.
As meme-tastic as this mod is I can't help but smile because I think these are the memes and music and characters that brought Ermii joy all this time as they grew up with the Internet. Bless this mod.

Yes! I've been following this project for about 2 years now. I'm happy to finally see vinny play it!
For anyone who's wondering, this hack DOES work on actual hardware. Even the multiplayer works if you have two flashcarts (DS Download play doesn't work).
I gotta say, I love the effort put into this. It could have been a simple reskin. The person that made this did a very good job, put alot of time and effort into this it seems! Also, I love the fairy fountain theme music for the menu.
Sure is a shame that the fandom made people around the world cringe if they even glance at the word Sans or Papyrus.

People were already cringing at Papyrus before Undertail, though.
Every video game or cartoon fandom has cringeworthy shit going on under the hood. The difference is that people who thought they were going to hate Undertale really WANTED to hate Undertale, so they intentionally overexposed themselves to the worst of the fandom and spread the shit all over the surface, trying to get more people to hate alongside them. Unfortunately this has the side effect of emboldening the fandom and making the property seem more mainstream, so it's like a feedback loop, sort of like the Streisand effect. I've seen this happen before and I've seen it happen since. It's never an accident. If you've ever been sick and tired of hearing about MLP, or Steven Universe, or Homestuck, or Minecraft, or FNAF, even if you've never experienced those properties, then you've encountered this principle.
RhinestonePylon I mean, there's nothing wrong with people making (good) fan art of their favorite characters, but the bad fanart + Steven Universe "I'm stronger than you" + Shipping Frisk x (character from Undertale) makes people cringe

The amount of work, effort, and time that went into this is staggering. It's essentially just, "Shitpost: The Video Game Rom Hack." It's just one massive shitpost but with waaaaay too much effort put into it and I kind of love it and want to see more. I didn't even know that NDS rom hacks really existed or that there were any with such detail. Granted, it's far from perfect because... well, at the end of the day, it's still a shitpost so they can't be expected to iron out every single one of the bugs, but it's still really good. Also, Mario Kart 0 is apparently another earlier rom hack of Mario Kart DS that was made by this team. But I think that one might have been more legit and less of a shitpost.
The perfect sync of Do the MaCHrio Time with the Nintendo world trailer was fucking incredible.

Trollface and Doge are the most outdated memes in the game.
WHEN was this hack made? It has things like Trollface and Darude - Sandstorm, which went out of popularity 7 or 8 years ago, but it also has Sans and Papyrus, and Undertale wasn't made until 2015. So either the creator(s) put the stale memes in the game just to make people cringe, or they started making the hack around 2010 but didn't finish until 5 years later.
