I've been down a bunch of different rabbit holes, trying to find info on bikes for tall beginners. This is one of the best vids I've found, so thanks!
That’s great to hear Joe! Thank you 🙏🏼
I took the MSF course recently at my local Harley dealer. The bike I used was a base street 500 I think. I’m 6’4” and on the first riding day my hips cramped up terribly. I felt like a circus bear on a mini-bike.
Enjoyed it!
That was very interesting. Thank you. Kevin was extremely helpful, I thought, and would no doubt help me (at 6'7") to pin down the ideal steed in the Ducati stable. A Multistrada seems favourite but the joy is in the hunt. 👍
It sounds like the multi or the diavel x with moved floor plates if you like muscle cruisers? The new adv bike coming may also be a good fit but I think defo those three?
I came from your glamster vid, Rob you got everything I planned to buy 👍 scrambler 1100 and glamster
That’s great 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
It looked like a great day out. I was hoping to go on Sunday but couldn't in the end.
It was! Always fun. It was pretty busy
Great video. Thanks👍
Thanks Alex
Hi Rob,
I'm also 6'3 and looking to get a new bike during the spring time.
I suggest you try out the Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE. It's a perfect fit for us taller riders and it will most likely be my next bike.
Wish you a great weekend!
Thank you! Yes, this is on the list! Along with Tiger900
@@BikesVansandThings you will be like Steve McQueen riding that triumph scrambler wearing that belstaff jacket 😉
@@precludeneco 😂
All Triumph bikes seem a tad larger than normal. I am also going for a triump street triple. Just because the bike has a better sitting and seems larger than other naked bikes.
Great video - as a long person, I'm torn between the Hyper, the Multi and the Desert X. My local Ducati Dealer scratched his head and said he'd never seen someone so easily flat foot a Desert X when I sat on it.
I need to try one. Look fantastic. Did you ride it?
@@BikesVansandThings No, not yet
How tall are you?
Hi will desert sled fit me ?? Im about 190cm
I’m also 6,3. May I ask what you weight? I’m about 220/230 with gear and everyone tells me I have to get aftermarket front and rear springs on the suspension for my weight
Mm…I changed up the springs on my SCr950 but that was to increase the ride height. I’m 115kg around 250lbs, and had no issues with other bikes. Hope this helps
Hi, I am 1.88 (84 kilos) and I want to buy the scrambler 1100... What do you think?
I think you’d be perfect for the scrambler range, either the 1100 or 1200’s. Sounds like you’re a fairly slim 6’2 so visually will work. If you were 6’2 and 100kg+ I wouldn’t go for anything but the 1200’s. Make sense?
@@BikesVansandThings thank you!!!
@@BikesVansandThings sir iam 6 feet 0..am i good for Panigale v4
Tall riders, the answer is any of them. Dukes are not conducive for short leg riders.
Hi I'm 6'4" tall, do you think that the Ducati x diavel is comfortable for me?
I would give it a ride as dependent on your dimensions and the forward pegs it may fit well. I was a little disappointed as thought it would be bigger. For me it’s too small.
@@BikesVansandThings ok thank you so how much tall are you?
@@MarioRossi-kt7vs 6’2 / 190cm. 115kg
@@BikesVansandThings this is very helpful thank you man
@@BikesVansandThings In the video you say you love the feel of the xdiavel. I assume in retrospect you changed your mind?
Not sure if i missed it, but how tall are you?
190cm 👍🏻
@@BikesVansandThings did you ever end up sitting on the hypermotard? I’m 193cm so would fit about the same. Did you end up going with a Ducati?
Yes@@gqm5450 i liked the size but not the bike for me.Too much power. I moved to Singapore so have been on a Vespa! But soon I am sure I will be back on a proper bike...best of luck! I think you should try the hypermotard. I have also been looking at older GS as a second bike
Rob, get yourself a KTM 890 Adventure R. A do everything bike. Great for tall riders. Lots of legroom. The best suspension you can get. Luggage available for it, and not just KTM's. Commute, tour, go off-road. No Ducati is anywhere near as good off-road.
My friend has one and I complete get the pros. The looks though 🤷🏼♂️ not sure. Think it would be a good second bike for the rough stuff but not my everyday ride? Will def be on the list to test ride 👍🏻👏🏼
what's your height sir ?
190cm - 6’2/6’3
I’m 6ft4. Do i fit on a 2014 diavel?
I personally think the diavel would be too small for you BUT worth trying the forward pegs and a road test? Let me know how you get on.
@@BikesVansandThings …yes i will. Although i must say that the new Triumph Rocket 3 is also extremely goodlooking! Any experience on that bike by any chance?
@@Tallmanwithlongstick I have been wondering about this. I watched the ChaseOn2Wheels review and liked the look of it. Saw it in person but again looked a hit small to be honest. Haven’t had a go on it yet.
I’d like to look at the Indian Springfield and a maybe a different style like the Tiger 1200.
The Ducati bloke is Mr Bleedin' Obvious.
I though he was very good 🤷🏼♂️
