They don't sell the S7 or S7 Maxv anymorr. You may want to look at the Qrevo if you want a dock that can wash the mop othwise the Q8 is a great robot. It really depends on your needs and wants with a robot. There are so many choices at all budget levels.
The S8 Plus has a better obstacle avoidance system. It has a slightly smaller dust bin tho. Also S8 has VibraRise where it vibrates and lifts the pad up

It can still detect carpets, but it does so by detecting drag on the vacuum motor. The result is boosting the vacuum motor on carpets will be delayed and it has no ability to avoid rugs while mopping unless you set a no mop zone around them.
Yes. I always recommend doing a vacuum first and then a mop second. While this won't always solve the problem it cuts down on the risk of it happening.

I don't think you can buy the Qrevo Pro without a dock. With that said it comes down to your needs. The S8 is part of their flagship series and the only one of those with improved object avoidance. If that means nothing to you the next question is do you need dual rollers? If so the Qrevo is out. The next question is do you want a self empty station that can was and dry the mops? If so the Qrevo is on only one with that option. I could go on, but I think you get the point. I can't blindly recommend one.

There is a dog, she mostly lives outside, but we bring in quite a lot of hair from her, and naturally, when she comes in, she also brings it in. Due to the tiles, the mopping function would also be good. We only have one carpet in the bathroom, and the kids room. Friends recommend the Roborock S7 Max Ultra, but I feel its price is a bit high, although I also see the sense that if you are going to spend, you should spend on something that is definitely a good and long-term solution. Roborock is most likely going to come out with a new Q Revo iteration (most likely Q Revo Pro) with RGB Obstacle Avoidance, integrated voice control (like Yiko), hot water cleaning, and a swinging mop like the Dreame L20. Or maybe they will have an S8 MaxV with those features but with a new, over-the-top object avoidance that guarantees avoidance of poop and all kinds of cables (like iRobot). Roborock better add those dock buttons while they're at it! I bet the Deebot X2 still has horrible navigation... I still see people complaining about that.
I don't have any issues with a combined dust bin and water tank. A cap seals a water tank very well, and it doesn't leak when I empty a dust bin. Thanks for all the tests and videos! Based on your reviews I think Q Revo is the best robot vacuum even if not to take the price into account. Probably would be my next robot vacuum.

Well technically the Q8 Max is above the Q7 with feature like dual rollers and obstacle avoidance. The Plus means it has an auto empty station. You can separate them out into 2 different cleanings. Vacuum first and then send it out to mop second. I normally do this myself.

Yo Jamie, I'm at one year with the last gen roborock and I have a ultra a problem with it that I don't think you address.
If there is a any kind of rock, even a tiny pebble, it'll get caught in the drag mop pad and drag it around the entire house and scratch your floors

why are Roborock and Dreame so alike specially the Revo and L10s ? Same mops and other parts.
Because Dreame is a company from Xiaomi, and Roborock used to be part of Xiaomi too

why they need so many version , this version use old technoly moping , my t9 aivi still can beat this one ez .this one is stupid version 😂😂😂😂 there is no new in this version . and have no camera AI . if u only need vaccum , irobot roomba still better than this .
Which one would be better Q7 max or Q8 max, the Plus goes for a station combo right?
Well technically the Q8 Max is above the Q7 with feature like dual rollers and obstacle avoidance. The Plus means it has an auto empty station.
