5 Exotic Cars We're Glad Depreciated!

  • Exotic cars for not so exotic prices! Sounds like a deal right? Sure is! Though for some models, there might be some strings attached :)
    Or in the McLaren's case...lots of strings will be attached
    And hopefully one of the strings amongst them is a rope strong enough to attach the car to a tow truck, it'll definitely save you a trip to the nearby auto-store. Also I hate this common line of logic people use for depreciating cars: “Rich People don’t care if an Exotic loses half it’s value in a year. They’re too rich to care”. More like people too poor to care. Rich people aren’t rich because they’re stupid arrogant pricks who willfully bleed money. They’re rich because they’re good with money. Meanwhile the easiest way to become poor, is to try to look rich. You think someone whose good with money is going to waste money on a rapidly depreciating asset just to flaunt their wealth? Most Maserati Owners I see are either fresh college graduates, or retired old guys in Florida. Guess which of those two are the actual rich guys? Those retired old guys in Florida! Since they buy them in full when they’re at the bottom of their depreciation and some of them even do their own maintenance to save themselves even more money. The dumb kids who get them straight out of college are the idiots. They want to look rich, by living poor. So be smart, and buy cars when they near the bottom of their depreciation curve. I'm not saying we should all drive garbage boxes with check engine lights. Don't go too cheap. but do realize...you don't need to go too expensive either. Your dream car is more attainable than you think if you don't buy it brand new!

    • @ZayTson
      @ZayTson 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@cleverusernamecl5532 Personally I'm looking for a 2015 manual R8 around 70K, but I went with my buddy back in December to pick up his 2016 RS7 for 44,700. Basically he just used autotrader & autotempest to find one that was relatively cheap and haggled the price down from 49K to that level. You just have to watch the cars you want for a bit and use what ever reasoning you can to get it down in price. In his case he explained that it was 1. The car had been sitting at that dealership for a while 2. It was the middle of winter and no one is really looking to buy a performance model during that season 3. he'd be willing to drive to the dealer to pick it up (we live around 600 miles away from where they were located). 4. Point out the fact that there was a similar model for sale closer to his house and it was cheaper (the closer one was a performance with 66K miles, while his was a prestige with 57K miles with the similar equipment). 5. Explain to the dealer that you pretty much know what the dealer inventory pricing is and you are willing to pay above that but you still want to get a deal (you can figure this out by watching the pricing for a certain car when it leaves one dealer and is up for sale at another; basically the price that one dealer sold it for to another one in order to get it off their books). I know this is probably a longer response than you were looking for, but I'm always happy to share info if it helps another car guy get the car he wants.

    The Maserati info is kinda wrong, the new Maserati that's coming out (officially named MC20) it's going to be the successor of the MC12, not of the Granturismo MC Stradale, and the MC20 is going to have a Twin Turbo V6, so there's going to be sound, but other than that, fantastic video!

    I mean even if you get them cheap the maintenance on those things isnt exactly cheap not to mention the aftermarket supply but that is to be expected on exotic cars.
    Tbf if you can find an exotic that's taken care of and keep it as reliable as possible then that is an absolute steal.

    The problem with the Granturismo MC listings is that half, if not most, of cars listed are not actually MC’s, just regular GT Sports. However, Maserati’s depreciation actually doesn’t affect the GT MC too badly.

And thats an engine out job, and that means that labour+ parts is another 5 or so grand, at least. Otherwise id go for a manual swapped M6 if i had the cash to spare, but i dont got the 25 grand they cost in sweden and then the other 15 to get it sorted.
