This was very helpful. Thank you. There were a couple of extra bolts - one in the bottom righthand corner of the fuse part which is hard to get to due to the proximity to the door. The other was an extra bolt underneath the bottom panel (i.e. three underneath not two). As someone else commented it was quite a wrestle to drop down the bottom panel and I didn't need to remove it to get to the two screws for the instrument cluster. Thanks heaps for the video.

LCD needed repair, so just what I needed so that I can leave the panel with the repair specialist. Many thanks. Note that I did have to wrestle with the cover to get it out so not quite as easy as shown !!!

Cheers.. didn't need to take lower dash out though, just undo bolts and you can just squeeze it down a bit to get to the two dash bolts

After removing the pod plugs from the sockets, the cables are retained on the pod by cable clamps preventing removal. The cables need to be carefully detached from the clamps.

Does the back come off the instrument cluster as well? I need to disconnect a light and don't want to pull it if I can't take that apart.

My cluster had 4 plugs connected to it. Might be due to a different configuration of the car's options. It's a 2001 German model. Additionally there were 3 screws on the bottom of the plastic trim that had to be removed.

Which Audi TT did/do you have? I have a 2005 Audi TT and someone unsuccessfully tried to steal my car. Wondering before I go in and try to reattach my lower dash

    • @manuel-stroehmer

It was the 224 HP quattro version with navigation. Just be cautious in general and don't expect everything to be precisely as in the video. The video is a good rough guideline, though. Even with the same spec, a different model year can make a difference since suppliers change and so on.

Questions! The center digital display on mine has gone "Atari". If I replace the whole cluster with a used one (with a working center digital display) will the mileage be correct? Second question, if I replace the cluster, will my TT just accept it and start up and drive without any special codes?
