    Great info Michael, I have both Aspire and PVC. I have never been able to get acceptable results with PVC, and finally just gave up using it. With your explanation of the parameters I may try it again. Thanks.

    Good tutorial on differences. doesn't sound like I need to add photo vcarve to my software inventory because Aspire should do the same things with the exception of not being able to use a bull nose bit.

    How do you typically finish the final carve to get a good result?

      If using wood, seal it first. I use clear shellac. Run the toolpath and then apply a light coat of stain or paint. Let dry. Lightly sand off top coatings and reseal.
