i like that feature on making a toolpath template for fixtures. thanks for the info thats gonna save me from plugging my wholes with dowels and glue and surfacing the spoilboard. i do a lot of fixtures and double sided carves where i use alignment dowels
bubba6945, I like that idea brother. That can definitely save you a lot of time.
Im missing all but 6 of the modelling tools, any thoughts?
If something is missing in your software, definitely connect Vectric!
I was wondering if I could get a little bit of advice from you. Iv noticed there is a version 12 of vectric software but when I try to update it it's asking me to pay £186 which when I have updated previous versions it never asked me to pay for those so I'm slightly confused.
Firstly am I doing something wrong when trying to update my software or does it require a payment like I say it never asked me before?
Secondly is it necessary to update the software or can I continue to run my cnc on the current 11.554 version, will updating it make my machine run any better or not?
Thank you for taking the time to read my message.
Is a great questions. First of all you can do everything with version 11.5 forever. Regarding updating, the best thing to do is contact the vectric support and I will be able to answer that question about the charge
Hi there thank you for your reply I love watching your videos. Iv actually learnt more from your channel than I have from actual vectric videos so thank you for that
Major upgrades are free for 12 months after you purchase. After that you need to pay an upgrade fee if you want the new version.
You talked about being able to get an hour help time, how do I do this? I have the new version 12 and I'm having trouble with simple things that you probably can answer.
johnwhitney6292, My apologies brother but I have been so busy lately that I haven't had the time to do as many one on ones as I would like. I'm sorry for the inconvenience on this one my friend.
I am working with Kate Tucker to provide one on ones, she's incredible! Here's a link to schedule time with her →calendly.com/riseandshinewoodsigns/oneonone60minsession?month=2023-06
I have heard you cannot use a tapered ball Mose to carve for inlays in this version?
huddleshuddles7360, your best bet would be to reach out to Vectric on that specific one brother! Here is a link: www.vectric.com/support/contact-us/
@@IDCWoodcraft i could see where thats a possibility for the new inlay feature. but for other carves i highly doubt it so ive contacted them asking before i do the upgrade in the next few days
The Makerspace Edition allows a Makerspace or Hackspace to buy a Master copy for a machine in the Makerspace, and then members can get a client edition that allows them to create jobs offline, but the toolpath generation is done via the Master Edition in the Makerspace.
paulbritton187, That sounds like a great way for members to have access to toolpath generation while still working offline. Collaborative setups like that can really enhance the capabilities of a Makerspace or Hackspace. It's always exciting to see how technology is evolving to support creative communities.
I have a detail with toolpaths, how to copy it with these diagonal toolpaths?
PSS_1, To copy a detail with diagonal toolpaths, you can use a feature called "Pattern" or "Array" in your CNC software. This will allow you to replicate the toolpaths in a specified direction and distance. Just select the toolpaths you want to copy and set the pattern parameters accordingly. Hope this helps!
scale factor seems to change on every tool path is my experience with the machine i use which is the onefinity woodworker black controller box model especially on 3d relief carves
bubba6945, very true my friend. I couldn't agree more.
Save tab?
underwoodchip, my apologies brother I'm not too sure what you mean by this one. Do you mind clarifying?
@@IDCWoodcraft the save button? It’s gone by default? There is a way you can bring it back though,
Go to the Edit Menu - Options and set "Show Additional File Operations" to YES and close the Options menu with OK. I wrote them lol 😂
It’s the simple things I miss…
What is the cost for his course?
mikesmith7989, that is a great thing to check brother! But in most cases on the Longmill you do not need to tram front-to-back.
I believe it’s $ 20.00 a month
With KeepOut Zones I may finally order metal clamps. I've always used wood just in case.
laser31415, Using KeepOut Zones is a great way to ensure safe toolpaths when working with materials like metal. It's always better to be cautious when trying new techniques. Happy woodworking!
Good vid
chriskennedy2524, Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Feel free to ask if you have any questions.
could you post me a link to kyles youtube channel please
bubba6945, no problem brother. Here is a link: www.youtube.com/@LearnYourCNC
Here is what I know about Vectric, it is way too expensive for a hobby. I can make do with open source.
rickharms1, I totally understand where you're coming from! Vectric can feel pricey, especially for hobby projects. Open-source software can definitely be a great way to go while still achieving some fantastic results. Enjoy your woodworking journey!
Garret you talk too much. Keep it short!
Hey Bob. I'll keep that in mind. But please remember, I teach how I teach
@@IDCWoodcraft Keep doing what you're doing. If he doesn't like your style, he can move on.
@@IDCWoodcraft you have a great channel Garret, you say it in a way people can understand, this is good vid to watch
