    Can you make another video on how to do layered stencils perhaps with a Silohette cutting machine. By far this is the most "straight to the point" informative video, especially for beginners. Great Video!!!!

    Fantastic tutorital, thanks for putting this together! It's nice to see a version that doesn't rely on using the Threshold feature. Would love to see a tutorial (or just some quick tips!) on how to do this with multi-colored stencils. Been watching your Hulk and Iron Man videos to see if I can reverse engineer it but there's definitely a steep learning curve. Thanks again for all you do!

    Great tutorial on how to make the layers. Next question...Does anyone know how to take the layers and turn them into the data for Cricut? The only way I can think of is saving each layer as a separate image and loading each into Cricut.

    THANK YOU!! I have been struggling with this for months. I have tried Gimp, and Got Photoshop Elements, which isn't photoshop, I learned that too late! I want to cut these stencils out with my silhouette machine, can you continue a video that will show you how to save each layer and how to maintain the size through out so it can be pieced back together precisely? I can't seem to get the stencil to save separately to import into my silhouette or to save them, at least not in the other programs that make you save and change each extension so it doesn't over write the previous layer?

    • @prot0arts136

      PMCS S I don't draw out my bridges ahead of time. I cut them as I come across islands afterwards. Although that sounds like a good idea I might look into doing that from now on!

      Bro! You are really dope! You explain it so simply like nobody else.
      One more question, on the first tutorial you used to create a stencil "filter gallery"
      Right now you use "thresholds"
      What's the difference?
      I think "filter gallery" gives your more turns

    • @prot0arts136
      @prot0arts136  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Fobnart There really isn't all that much of a difference if any to be honest. But this is how I originally learned how to make stencils and later I stumbled across the filter gallery. So in my older tutorial I showed the filter gallery way of doing things. I still use it but sometimes I go this route as well :)

    Oh, and I think what I want might be a reverse stencil? I want to get an image onto a painted canvas I have done and to have some of my painting show through. I would guess that in this case I just wouldn't paint those parts. for example a turtle. I want a colored (brown maybe) shell but in the centers of each shell division I want the canvas color to show. How would I isolate stuff like that? I need a tutor! :)

    I watched your video again trying to do each step as I went. PS has moved some of its tools so they are hidden in the new 2020 program version. Also how did you get inches to show up instead of pixels when you resize? I can't figure it out. Mine shows pixels and I don't have any idea what size that is?

    i feel like an idiot but i cannot wrap my head around last step where you fill each layer with the appropriate color. to start im selecting my color from the wand , layer via cut then discarding the cut layer with just the extracted color.i either end up with really wonky and nearly impossible layer shapes or ,id really appreciate any help , thasnks agfain cheers!

I don't even have a problem printing it then scanning it back into my computer as long as it all fits together at the end. OH I need to change the white layer, my cutting machine doesn't read white. How do I do that, especially after I have already made the layers, can you??

      Prototype TV Thank you Prototype I just went ahead and bought me the adobe photoshop element 2018 version yesterday night the layout is different so i kept rewatching your videos and looking for the tools that you were using it took me to this afternoon to learn this program and im happy to say i just finished my first Batman "Dark Knight" multi layer stencil and man did i feel proud. My wife loved it and my kids were like wow that is so cool. So thank you Big Time my passion has developed even more for this art. I would like to ask you when you are doing more then 3 layers what types of different spray paint colors do you use for each stencil?

    • @prot0arts136
      @prot0arts136  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Joey Lou Hey man that's fantastic! I'm glad this was able to help you out a bit. That's an excellent question. You can actually do a 5 layer stencil using only 3 cans. I plan to do a new tutorial video explaining how that is done! So stay tuned my friend :)

  • @CleanHead

    Each time I try this, I either end up with little squigigly "outlines" on on of the plates, or there ends up being a slight line where the colors dont quite meet up due to the magic wand ants.. Is there a setting I'm missing to prevent this?

    Is there a way to make it more simple, so that you dont have to cut those difficult spots

    • @raulcab.672
      @raulcab.672 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe that if you apply a gaussian blur to the image before anything else it turns out actually cuttable

  • @kirleuteris7086
    @kirleuteris7086 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes, but you cannot cut this as a stencil. The color that you cut at a time, must not surround the color that you already painted, e.g. dark gray must not surround black (but it does) , because then you cannot paint it, you have to put those pieces in their places and hold them there.
    Though, I'm wondering how you cut it out (if you did), and if anybody can share his solution with me, if there is a solution. :D

    • @prot0arts136
      @prot0arts136  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      KirLeuteris This is how I make my stencils and I'm able to cut each one just fine (making bridges to handle islands is something I did not cover however in this video) I print each layer individually, one at a time, by deselecting the "eye icon" of all the other layers I am not currently focused on.

    • @kirleuteris7086
      @kirleuteris7086 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Indeed i was refering about the "islands" issue, but i solved it through this technigue:
      /watch?v=BNfqdcRVnoM (2:20)
      I think that the "bridges" solution , ruins the stencil.
      Thank you anyway !
