  • Don't let your engine freeze this winter,
    In this video I show how to test your antifreeze, without a tester, & with a tester.
    It is important to check the concentration, so not to damage the engine when the temperature drops, Winters coming.
    its a nice easy job.
    I also explain why the 107 has a separate coolant tank and the issues you might have with this system.

    I don’t understand why there’s two caps for the coolant. I get confused where it’s supposed to be added
    1. In the pressurised (will blow in your face if engine is hot)
    2. Or the black coolant cap next to it?
    Please help

      @aaanton11  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      open the pressurised one when the engine is cold, top up and refill there , the other tank is fill to the max line on the side, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

    cool - i seen a video where you can use a multi meter to test the rust inhibators. anything over 250mili volts it needs changing.even though the test used here was ok.

    Hi, i've just bought a 2006 107, it didn't come with any of the hand books now i've seen your video and a couple of others and you all say the same "fill to the level" ???? can you give us a clue the bottles a bit mucky and tucked away so any level marks are not that obvious. any help would be appreciated. Also liked your video on the engine slap of the 107 put my mind to rest that the engine wasn't going to throw anything, Thanks

    • @aaanton11

      There is no power steering fluid the system is electronic, you can see the motor on my video on heater motor replacement, you will need to use a code reader to grab some fault codes for a better idea as to what is wrong, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

    My Aygo never seems to build pressure in the hoses. The system runs at around 84°c though and that's around the specified 83°c for the Aygos cooling system. I use torque to monitor temps and the fan kicks in at around 92°c (which only happens in stop start traffic)

    • @aaanton11
      @aaanton11  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There should be pressure at 92 degrees as steam is produced, are you loosing any coolant? possible radiator cap worn be I would expect a leak, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

    I've just discovered your channel is amazing thank you!
    I have a Peugeot 107 and my separate coolant tank is always empty. I refill it, but after one hour trip is empty again. But apparently, the main system (where the yellow pressurized cap) is OK.
    Do you know why this may be possible?
    Thanks in advance!

    • @aaanton11
      @aaanton11  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you must have a leak, sounds like the separate tank might have a crack in it, if the radiator is always full, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

    I can imagine most antifreeze these days have bittering agents in them. My partners car had a leak and identified it by taste that it was coolant and it was pretty unpleasant tasting. Still wouldn't want to risk pets drinking it though!

    • @aaanton11

      if you squeeze the hoses on the radiator with the cap off can you see the colour of the fluid, most likely to be red/ longlife coolant, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

    Love these 107 videos as I've got a C1. There's blue coolant in my system. Is it possible to change it by sucking out the blue with a baster and replacing with red?

    • @aaanton11
      @aaanton11  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, the easiest thing to do is top up with blue, if you want to replace with red, you will need to totally drain down the system by popping the bottom hose off the radiator, then refilling, as in my replacing the water pump video, remember don't mix the two colours it will go all slimey, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

      @@aaanton11 I literally just changed it yesterday, I can't believe how easy it was. Took about 15 minutes to change it and burp the system. Now just keep checking the cap when it's cooled down and topping up what ever air has appeared in The cap.
      I never expected a coolant change to be easier then an oil change. I guess it helps that you just fill the system and don't need to keep checking a dipstick xD.

    Hi Thanks for the information, your videos are very informative. Have just bought a 2015 C1 and the garage replaced the radiator but the bottom hose popped off when I got it home and it drained the system. They took the car back and fixed the issue but now I've got the radiator fan on all the time on even the shortest journey. Could there be an airlock or something? How would I fix that myself if there is an airlock (before borthering the garage with an issue)? Can I just take the radiator cap off and start the engine to get the air out (if there is any). I literally know nothing about cars, I just don't want to break it. Thanks.

    I have an overheating issue at the moment after changing the thermostat, coolant temp sensor it's still the same done a head gasket test on it still comes back as okay, ended up replacing the engine as the clutch needed doing and could not find a source of the over heating i got a good deal on a used engine with 40k. The problem is the new engines doing the same I'm trying to figure out what it could be, i noticed that there might be too much coolant in the white bottle do you think that would cause overheating? I'm gonna drain some of it tomorrow.

    • @aaanton11
      @aaanton11  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you need to be checking the coolant from the top of the radiator, then set the level in the white bottle, if the bottle then fills chances are the radiator cap is leaking, try another one. hope this helps Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
