It’s always worth giving it a clean! I also have a video on my channel about cleaning the rest of the intake system including the throttle body, MAP sensor and PCV valve.
@@DABDIY I cleaned the MAP sensor and the PCV valve according to your instructions this spring. Also the throttle body (mounted). Around Christmas I planned to do an oil change. And a clean of the idle sensor as well (if I am in the mood to do this). See you --- Martin
Yes. It turns out that I was actually losing compression and shortly after this video, I ended up changing the engine entirely. Videos about that are also on the channel. Cleaning the idle control valve helped to a point, but ultimately, a new engine was required.
That’s really strange, I’ve never heard of that one. My only suggestion would be to take it to an auto electrician because it sounds like an electrical problem, rather than a mechanical one.
That’s about normal, mine does it too. When it’s cold, it holds the rpm a little higher until it’s warm and then settles down. It’s very similar to how you’d have to pull the choke out on an old car until it’s warm and then when you push it in, the rpms drop.
@@DABDIYI spoke with peugeot today and they told me 3750 euros for the complete group. I bought the car for 4000. This is insane. I found on ebay the complete group of 39 including shipping (used).
Hi just got a c1 and gave it full service but when i rev it only to 3000 rpm the engine vibrates in wjthin this rev range also does it on way back down to idle, any ideas whats causing this? Just incase you have encountered it before thank you.
Copied from a quick Google search. P0011 refers to a fault in the variable valve timing (VVT) system. It indicates that the engine control module (ECM) has detected that the camshaft timing in cylinder bank 1 is more advanced than it is supposed to be.
Sounds like it might be a coil pack to me. Check your compression too because when mine started to do this, I’d lost a lot of compression in cylinders 2 & 3, so it was time for a replacement engine.
If there’s no codes, it might be the spark plugs. Still worth checking compression while you’re in and around that area, it’s easy to do while the plugs are out.
Could be any number of things ranging from poor quality fuel to slack in the accelerator cable and a thousand things in between. I’d start by checking the accelerator cable, cleaning the idle control valve, throttle body, MAP sensor and put some E5 in the tank and see how it goes.
Hi mate, I heard there is some sort of oil valve thing on the mk1, that will give the appearance of "burning oil" always requiring to top the engine oil up, my mk2 seems to drink through engine oil, i was originally on 0W30 but due to the issue and at the time, last year the weather was pretty hot, so i presumed better to try 5W30 since that is an option in the manual. same issue, i cant find anywhere that states the mk2 has this valve thing, so, since you have the mk1 and your wife has the mk2, maybe you might know? appreciate any response, cheers.
Just purchased a 107 for my daughter and this channel has literally got all the things I was looking for! 🙌😁
Glad to hear it’s helped! If you’ve got any questions specific to your car, I’ve me a shout on IG, @dabdiy 👍🏻
@@DABDIY awesome! Thanks 🙂 +1sub 👍
Thank you 🙏
Well done mate, these little videos really helpful 👍
I hope you’re managing to save some money by doing things yourself 👍🏻
Thanks Dave. This is very helpful. My idle is OK but just in the case it isn't... Have a nice weekend!

Danke!
Bitte 👍🏻
Bravo! Spero di vederti fare dei lavori sulla Aygo seconda serie.
non ho una mk2 aygo, ma ci sono alcuni video mk2 C1 sul canale.
Nice work, very useful
I have a 2013 C1 with 103,000 miles the car has a pinging sound at lower rpm and throttle load, I ve changer spark plugs etc. Any ideas please
They do rattle quite a bit at lower revs, that’s normal for them. Have you also tried changing things like coil packs etc?
@DABDIY Yes, it does rattle a bit, which is normal, and this pings occasionally under load at lowers rpm?
@davidbateman3850 worth checking the coil packs then. After that, I’m not sure what to suggest.
Car idles rough when warm, runs better when cold?
Yes. It turns out that I was actually losing compression and shortly after this video, I ended up changing the engine entirely. Videos about that are also on the channel. Cleaning the idle control valve helped to a point, but ultimately, a new engine was required.
Well explained again;!
Thank you
I keep getting cylinder 1 misfire code, compression fine changed spark plugs and coil packs any ideas…..???
Are you sure you used the correct spark plug? I’ve fallen foul of that mistake before.
Yeah correct plugs and coils, only cones up when the cars tucking over never ever cones on when driving
That’s really strange, I’ve never heard of that one. My only suggestion would be to take it to an auto electrician because it sounds like an electrical problem, rather than a mechanical one.
Well explained!!
Thank you!
Mine is at 1,1rpm at a cold start and 0,9 when warm. Why is that so?
That’s about normal, mine does it too. When it’s cold, it holds the rpm a little higher until it’s warm and then settles down. It’s very similar to how you’d have to pull the choke out on an old car until it’s warm and then when you push it in, the rpms drop.
Sunscribed and 👍 Great little video thank you. Saved it to my Peugeot 107 playlist.
More and more videos added regularly!
Anyone knows any spare part number for the idle control valve? I have a bad one, and it says 16R90 7121 AISEN but i can't find it anywhere online.
Sorry, I don’t have a part number. You should be able to pick up a decent used one though.

I’m not sure to be honest. If you’re on Facebook, ask in the City Bug Club, plenty of experts there.
Please, where i can buy this spare idle valve?
I would imagine either from a breaker or a main dealer
Got an p0011 error today 2013 aygo what can be the cause

Won't it be the spark plugs .I had it scanned an everything was fine

Will do.
Let u no the outcome . Il clean the 2 lambda sensors aswell
It was the coil pack cylinder 3 ..all replaced now runs better than ever. .cheers
What would cause the car to bog for a second if you plant your foot on the accelerator whilst in neutral
Could be any number of things ranging from poor quality fuel to slack in the accelerator cable and a thousand things in between. I’d start by checking the accelerator cable, cleaning the idle control valve, throttle body, MAP sensor and put some E5 in the tank and see how it goes.
Clean throttle body cured mine

It’s got a PCV valve, I’m just not sure where. I haven’t done that much work on the Mk2 tbh. Besides, it’s a 1.2, most people have the 1.0.
My peugeot 107 keeps turning off and won’t start at all, checked the battery and it’s fine, what could be the problem?
It could be one if a hundred things, given the description you have provided. My advice would be to have it inspected by a professional.
What did you use to clean it
EGR cleaner
