    Great setup! It's nice to keep all your tools safe and dry.
    Anytime you pull that trailer with your insured vehicle the trailer itself is insured.
    Everything inside is not unless you have a special rider attached to your insurance policy.
    If your insurance company understands that you are running a business with your truck and trailer your insurance will double.
    Remember that thieves are attracted to that trailer like crack cocaine and will steal it out of your own driveway while you sleep.
    I know guys in construction that have lost everything they had in a trailer.
    I would do everything you can to lock that trailer when you are away.
    I mean putting chains or cables through the wheels, using a wheel boot, anything to make them work harder.
    For not too much money you can put a 12 volt battery inside the trailer and install a car alarm system.
    Some of them have motion sensors and of course door open sensors.
    Very few thieves are going to hang around with a siren screaming at them. Good luck!
    .

      We use alarms powered by 12 gauge shot gun shells for bears in Alaska. Works on thieves and punk kids too...

    The beauty about harbor freight is you can buy 2, 3, 4 or more for the price of one name brand tool... And you don't have to baby them... Plus if you have a mission critical tool, like an angle grinder, saw or a drill, I buy two and keep one in the box in the trailer and if the other craps the bed, I just whip out the new one and keep working...

    A bunch of tool boxes, crane acetylene cutting torch, etc. Ton of tools, I like yours that is all weather protected, and you can lock it up, did I mention that I make my trailer with 90% scrap
    Easy to ID my trailer has pink Miller stickers.

    IDEAL equipment for aluminum mig is a millermatic 255 pulse with a spoolmatic 30A. No question... and harbor freight power tools are trash. They will get (most) jobs done but better tools = better/faster work. Quality tools pay for themselves. Time is money when you work for yourself. Good start though. Keep upgrading.
    P.S.
    Probably not a great idea to advertise that you use crappy tools or that you don't want to cut a hole in your trailer. You are a welder fabricator, you can (should be able to) patch it up if need be.

    Did you buy everything little by little as you went along or did you put together enough money just to get everything you needed right away? I’m an aspiring welder and entrepreneur who is looking to do this same thing. Is it possible to have the same setup in a cargo van if you don’t have a truck to haul a trailer and what all do you need to get started money wise like bare minimum doing small jobs? Sorry if it’s a lot of questions I’m fascinated with welding and would like to learn from you

      I was buying things little by little, I always had tools in the garage and bought my first TIG welder a few years back for in the garage. I started with just a basic Lincoln squarewave TIG in my garage and did side jobs so I would say thats a good way to start!

    That maybe the most dangerous thing is keeping your cutting torch tanks in the trailer because the in closed case like a bomb ready to explode. I remember asking that question when we had shipping container to store are tanks in the containers everyone looked at me like I was crazy they have to be vent's cut out the top for air flow or just make a rack where they can be on the outside of the trailer?

    • @bruta1f3ar
      @bruta1f3ar 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      SNOOP U 2 if the tanks are closed properly then there’s no risk of explosion. I see rig welders with their bottles mounted sideways inside closed tool boxes on their trucks. DOT doesn’t say anything. OSHA usually asks us to separate fuel bottles from everything else in case of fire but that’s usually it.

    • @bryancanizales9772
      @bryancanizales9772 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      SNOOP U 2 as long as the tanks are secured, tied down in an upright position there is no problem with keeping them in his trailer

    • @snoopu2601
      @snoopu2601 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bryancanizales9772 okay thanks I did not know that from what I was told it was like keeping a bomb in an air tight box that was a shipping container at the time.
      I have the small torch set that I've been wanting to fill them and get back into my arts and craft bench welding it's been a long time. I like the fact you got a trailer and made it into a garage. I just might do that make a small work shop out of a trailer. I have many many tool's it's just I don't have them all organized like a shop would have it. Unfortunately my brother made the garage into storage junk and piles of it. I had to take all my tools out of his garage before it got swallowed up and never see them again. I have them all put away. If I had them out ready to go I would be more motivated to start working instead of trying to pull stuff out and packing it all away again.

    How was the first year of business? I'm looking to do something like that but maybe a duel axle trailer. How much profit did you pull in the first year? I'm wanting to start a business welding, but never attended a school for it, I went to school for game development (litterally a mortgage payment every month, $1400), not going back for another degree to put myself in more dept lol, it really is just a piece of paper. Do you think I could pull it off if I get certifications for different welds and ommit a trade school? Or is it even necessary to do either? It seems structural or pipe welding is where the money is at, I'm just trying to figure out the barriers to entry. Making 50k at my current job, but want to work my own business to get these damn student loans paid off! My goal is to have at least a take home of 80k.

    • @undergod3547
      @undergod3547  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Business was good my first year, it takes a while to find enough jobs to have steady work. Get your certifications for any weld process you will run in the field. If you can pass a structural weld test and have experience in the field, and know the tools it takes to get the job done, then no I dont think schooling is necessary. I think the best experience is work experience. Prices vary in all areas of the US and what to charge so you wont really know what you can make until you get your name out in my opinion. Hope this helps, best of luck to you!

    Nice welding setup, good video. How well does the push pull setup work off the engine drive? Do you ever find yourself needing pulse on pulse or the other fine adjustments you get running off a inverter power source? Thanks for your time!!

    • @undergod3547
      @undergod3547  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks a ton, I appreciate the positive comments. Being able to have pulse would be nice, Especially welding anything under 1/4" but the machine welds great! Really it runs just as smooth as an inverter power source but the extra adjustments would be nice in some situations for sure! I was surprised at how consistent the welds are running off the generator but the machine idles up while welding and holds a nice steady arc. I will be posting more videos soon showing the different weld process's all ran off the generator and what kind of quality welds you get with it!
