Novablast 3 trail. Lots of cushion, light enough and enough energy for daily workouts. Trail has great traction for wet roads leaves and very easy gravel trails. Love it! Not a fast shoe for me defined as highly cushioned easier daily mileage category. Thanks for all the great reviews this is a great channel for runners looking for info before buying shoes !
I agree with 3 of cushioned shoes for 2022 of your list: - The New Balance 1080 V12 (already have it) - The Saucony Tempus (already have it) - The Nike Invincible Flyknit 2 (want to buy)
My top three high cushioning shoes of the year : -Adidas Ultraboost 22 ; -Adidas Solar Glide 5; -Asics Gel-Nimbus 24. The most versatile high cushioning and versatile shoe of the year for me is the Nimbus 24 for sure. Super nimble and quick shoe that can leave my Pegaus 39 and Puma Velovity Nitro 2 getting dust ... The Ultraboost 22 is my most addicting shoe I have used in 2022, it is heavy and all but it is extremely fun and enjoyable to run in it. The Solar Glide 5 is the #1 pick for endless long runs ... I could run while sleeping in this shoe, it is so comfortable and relaxing but it is the least versatile between all I got. Great video by the way !
I’ve been using the ASICS Glide Ride 3 for all easy long runs. They roll you through long miles and they save your legs which I guess is the main thing!
I've seen some great reviews on those and I'd like to try them. I appreciate a nice rocker. They seem to be incredibly under the radar compared to many highly cushioned shoes.
I love the shape too. Great to move them after using them for 500 kilometers to a daily shoe. Doesn't look like a running shoe, making it more acceptable to wear as a daily ish shoe.
I'm enjoying the Invincible Run2 , MoreV3 and the Saucony Tempus. I don't have enough miles on the Tempus to make a honest opinion thus far. The Mach 5 maybe be my new favorite shoe for 2022.
Well Tom convinced me to buy the more V3, so i did and I've done quite a lot of kms in them. Most of my runs I've tried to make slow runs, so they have been great.
It would be better to have a heavy runner too in your company. He would prefer Bondi 8, NB FreshFoam More v4 and Invincible 2. My choice is the NB. I think that it's the best overall. Some would say the Bondi. It's acceptable, too
This is my favorite type of shoe and thus debate!!! 😀I tried going minimalist for about 4 years ago and for me it led to an injury after about 2 years. Now I have fully embraced that dark side of the full cush shoes! Top 3 cushioned shoes for myself: 1. New Balance MORE V4 - not as cushy as the Invincible, but man are they just nice on foot, stable, and they just disappear on the foot for me. I cannot say that about the Invincible 2 as mentioned below. I can really just chew up some serious miles on this shoe. 2. NIke Invincible Run 2 - This is honestly probably the best most comfortable cushioned shoe, but I have a wide foot so I sized up half a size and they are hard for me to get a tight locked down. I tried the half size down and it is just too tight on the sides. Come on NIke and start making a wide option bro!!! 🤣😂🤣 3. Saucony Triumph 20/Asics Novablast 3 ???? - So I ask which of these would be a better option for a max cushioned shoe when I do want to pick up the pace a bit. Not for a speed session, but OK I want to bump up the pace a bit today?
Mmmmmm cushioned shoes!!!!!!! 😋😋 1. Hoka Clifton (any number) just for getting miles under my belt, getting that time on feet, it feels like coming home!! It's always been just perfect for me and hopefully will continue that way. 2. Nike Invincible, yummy!!!!!! 3. Asics Novablast, preferably the original and the best bouncy balm for sore legs!! For trails, it's the NB More Trail!! Must admit I'm yet to try any Saucony which I really wanna do, maybe the Triumph though the Shift 2 has some awesome deals at the moment.
I damaged my back by wearing those ridiculous Nike marathon shoes and ever since I’ve needed cushioned shoes to prevent my back and joint pain. I found these reviews extremely useful.
For just cushion, it is easily OC Cloudsurfer but it has no stability whatsoever, it may workout great as a walking shoe, much more cushier than Cloudmonster. For a good balance of cushion, stability, fit, speed it is Saucony endorphine speed 3
I must be like Tom. I've tried a lot of different cushioned shoes and top of the line expensive shoes from all the big brands. But nothing was like the More V3 once I got around to trying it. First 2 runs were 25km each and it really blew me away. Such a great shoe and hard not to pick it each time. I'm not sure how the v4 could beat it let alone match it but perhaps. Not sure I would buy another v3 or risk a v4 purchase.
I returned the v4 instantly. The squish was too much and with the split heel design when you walk it felt like you were doing a wheelie. The roll thru was much smoother with the v3. I really like the looks of the v4 tho. Hopfully v5 fixes the split heel and goes back to the v3 formula with the v4 upper.
@@mickyward3716 I've heard similar and that's been something that made me hesitant with v4. V3 is simply great and a discount would be something I would def look for eventually.
@@peterledrew2556 I wonder if the complaints about the heel split in the v4 are more for heel strikers or heavier runners. I'm 130 lbs. and I thought v3 was too firm at first but it's softened up and now it's one of my favorites.
@@kuriosites yeah quite possibly. I'm 200lbs and thought the V3 was pretty much as perfect as I've experienced in a cushioned shoe right from the start.
@@peterledrew2556 The Hoka Bondi felt like a brick to me because I couldn't compress the foam well enough. I think this is an often overlooked characteristic when choosing a shoe.
Surprised no mention of Asics Gel Nimbus/Cumulus/Kayano/KinseiBlast nor Hoka Clifton 8. These are the most max cushioned shoes I've ever worn and find nothing comes close.
I like the New Balance 1080 v12. Just got nike zoomx fly 5. Returned the saucony tempus too hard, high arch and narrow. Yeah I have wide flat feet with little arch. On are nice looking, but not that soft. Brooks are tad narrow for me too.
I just did my first run in the Saucony Shift 3s, running 24k. They seem perfect for easy runs but also help you maintain a reasonable pace due to the speedroll tech. Compared to my speed 3s they definitely feel like they are more protecting / injury preventing. So far so good.
I think that this category is very dependent upon body weight. I also love the Endorphin Shift, and I am 6' 180-185 lbs. If someone who is barely over 100 lbs likes a shoe there is almost no way it will work for me. We are obviously going to sink into the midsole differently. The firmer Shift allows it to still have some sort of structure under my foot, when my body weight is pushing down on the midsole.
@@nickcoulter973 This is the issue that I'm finding. I don't have a local running store where I can try on different shoes. Getting recommendations for someone our size (I'm 6'1 and 190) is quite difficult!
It's a weird one for me the glideride3. It's great when you put it on so comfortable. You walk in it and it's brilliant then you run in it and it stiffens up for me. Becomes a firm ride then you walk the dog in it and it's a lovely soft show🤣
@@RUN-SC I've heard great things about the GR3, too. Maybe it depends on whether someone's running style is a good fit for that aggressive rocker. I'm a little concerned because some complaints have said that the toe box is too snug or low volume.
I know it seems uncomfortable to ask someone to do so, but it would be nice if the reviewer's weight was listed or spoken about for this category. I think max cushion shoe comfort heavily depends on how much psi is pushing down on the foam. Something that works for a runner between 100-165 lbs is really unlikely to work for someone who weighs 180-225 lbs. Am I wrong? Is there a way to make foam compress the same under different weights?
I have the Prime X and the Invincible Run and i go for the Prime X every time, great at saving my ageing knees. Unfortunately this week after 350k total they've just developed an annoying squeek
I use the Invincible for easy/recovery runs and the Prime X for long runs. I thought my Prime X were squeaking in the marathon this past weekend, but it ended up being the boardwalk we were running on.
Of the shoes I have, I like the NB RC Elite2 as a cushioned trainer! I also have Skechers MaxRoad and Saucony Speed3 but don't really find them to be super cushioned. I'd be interested in the NB SC Trainer or Saucony Pro3 if they weren't so stiff, I like a little flex in the midsole for long and recovery runs.
it's a pity that the invincibles are so short-lived, 2 broken ZoomX midsoles in less than a month made me give up using them again, ahh and some black toenails during a half marathon, although the feeling on soft runs is quite good
Hi, I don't know if over pronate or not. I have just started training/running, heavyweight, height 185cm. Not looking for extreme pace or long marathons, just for daily 5-10km walk with intermittent pacing. Which would you recommend? GLYCERIN 20 REGULAR, OR WITH GTS? And apart from Glycerin, which shoe would you recommend? Also considering Speed 3 and Triumph 20. I could buy two pairs, if it would help. Thanks!
Hiya, I’d really appreciate understanding more about the fit, and people’s foot width and size. I’m a woman with long and narrow feet, so am always straining in review videos to hear the word ‘narrow’ or ‘snug fit’ But beyond occasional comments on ‘nice wide toe boxes’ or the length; there’s not much other comment on fit. I have the devil off a time finding shoes because I can’t just walk into a running shop and have a selection; I have to rely on reviews
Hi, please SHOW the brand/name of the shoes. I can't see what you're talking about when you show them for such a small period of time & then move them all around so I can't even read the brand. Pros & Cons would be nice. Price would help also.
I’m 43 and run with my boxing club around on the road and around the park 4 days a week. Takes about 30 mins but I really hate running so I want as much bounce as possible. What would you recommend. Thank you.
I think it's one that they'll keep as the current version for a while, and I expect it will stay fairly similar in design (but could be wrong haha). The Deviate Nitro 2 is a nice alternative with Elite foam in it, though bit stiffer with the plate
Adam try the Inov-8 BOOMERANG FOOTBED in the Hyperion Tempo it makes it an even better shoe especially for easy runs. It take the stiffness out of the shoe and adds more bounce.
I wish I could agree with everyone about the Triumph 20. I find the heel cup sloppy and the sole unstable. And I find the forefoot not as cush as the 19.
I want to like the Ride 15, seen so many positive reviews, but I haven't had a shoe that felt this uncomfortable straight out of the box. The ribbons down the sides feel intrusive, I feel no connection to the midsole (it feels like a plank). It's so 'hard', that I feel a sharp pain running up my shins as soon as I start to run...
I mean most people aren’t going to buy a shoe just for their easy days. They’re going to use them as a daily trainer so they’ll want it to not be a hulking behemoth that feels awkward if you pick up the pace even a little.
