    On behalf of heavy runners everywhere, it would be fun/cool/beneficial if you would include a heavier runner as one of your testers.
    I imagine that a 100 kg runner experience shoes a little differently, than the average 75 kg runner. There are very few shoetubers that cover that massive (pun intended) marked, and since you guys specialize on providing different point of views ( and as we all knows, many of the shoes we cling to, depend greatly on our own point of view 😎) I think that would really help this channel grow and gain some gravitas in the running community.

      @zmieer 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Great idea! It's hard to try to infer how the firmness or softness in a shoe would scale with the weight of the user from the way you speak about it from your experience being lighter.

      Agreed someone who is "old and fat, but still thinks they're all that! - As you get older you loose your spring, need more cushioning and the heel drop/excessive response can destroy your achilles and your calves etc and you pick up injuries.

    Very informative video, but I have a question...I have no idea how you get all these "feelings" about running shoes. I have zero of those feelings. Responsiveness, comfort, fast, slow, shoes for daily training etc... To me, all my running shoes are pretty much the same, and if they aren't exactly the same I wouldn't be able to say what the difference is. I'm genuinely curious because I have been running weekly for about 12 years now, done multiple full marathons, some trail. I'm definitely not a pro, but I enjoy running. But for me, i have zero feeling in particular in shoes. My 3 pairs at the moment are all "comfortable", one is "lighter", that's the max I could say about them. My question is, how do I enter your world? Feels like gastronomy for feet. And is it important to enter this world? Or am I good with my absence of knowledge in shoes? Thanks :)

    • @Natan9000
      @Natan9000 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I wonder how because I’ve tried like 4 Nikes this year and they were very very different shoes 😅 weight, stability, softness, responsiveness (this is a bit more abstract), rocker shaped to roll off or flatter geometry and the offset howmuch it tilts ur feet forward. Don’t worry about it if it feels good but i find it fun to find the shoes I like. For example I didn’t like the Nike invincible run because they were too soft for me but they are very good running shoes.

    • @yuanyuanintaiwan
      @yuanyuanintaiwan 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @ringperm
      @ringperm 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have bought alot of shoes, chasing this particular rainbow, and agree that 95% of the feeling I get from shoes are more or less the same.
      But I am a jogger, doing easier runs almost everytime.
      A few weeks ago, I was out running in my new Mach 4, and could not quite understand why these shoes are getting such rave reviews. But as coincident would have it, I picked up the pace, going from 6:30 min/km to about 5:15 min/km, and then I felt it. The so called bouncy energy return, or whatever they want to call it. But the whole characteristic of the shoe changed, became alive and fun.
      That has never happened to me before, not at that level. I am also a big heavy dude, and have always suspected that I squish most of the life out of my shoes. But this experience have showed me a different side of shoes.

    • @Tomilan712

      @Manvmiles 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Jonathon, (Kieran here), nice work doing the Comrades, this one is on the list for sure. In terms of shoes, my only advice is that you want a shoe that's going to be as comfortable when you're moving with good form as it is when you're maybe a bit more ragged towards the end of the race where it's like to be less about marginal carbon shoe gains than having happy feet. That should might be different for you than it is for me but I'd be tempted to go Saucony Speed 2 for something like this.
