Noosa Tri 14. Why, cause you give the best recommendations Seth. I was looking for a shoe that I could do long runs with marathon pace miles (without splashing out on a CFP shoe). And the Noosa does the job excellently. Light and responsive, but enough cushion to go the distance.

QD: Although I always ran, I never had any instructions and used to get whatever shoes the salesman pointed me at the stores that wasn’t too expensive and felt “comfortable” (walking..!!).
I had an Adidas Ultraboost X for 2 years which I truly loved coz it allowed me back into running after a fasciitis.
I was for the first time focusing on running, training with an instructor, researching online and had 3 weeks left for my first half marathon when my Ultraboost kind of bursted 😂
I felt extremely insecure to get a completely new shoe right before my first 21k and being very inexperienced with different shoes…
I ended up choosing the Asics Noosa Tri 13. I had done a huge online reviews marathon so I was as informed as possible when I hit the stores and the Noosa was the best available option, also reasonable price and it was an aaawe experience trying it. Now I’m back here online researching coz I need new shoes (and this time I’m gonna try to buy 2 for different training days)

QOD: The last running shoe I purchased was a pair of ASICS Fuji LITE 2s. I've used bottom of the line Solomon shoes in the past and could feel my legs give out on longer runs consistently due to lack of cushioning in the midsole. I wanted to try the Fuji LITE 2s for the cushioning and added spring they provide. It also helped that I found them online from a guy in my area for $70 unused. Needless to say they've entirely changed my perspective on what a trail running shoe can be and I'm excited to spend some amazing time on the trail knowing that I can trust the shoes on my feet. Your review helped me find the perfect shoe for what type of runs I love doing!

ASICS Glideride 3: this shoe was extremely well-reviewed online and I wanted a shoe that would do lots of long, easy miles. It’s one of my favorite shoes ever!!!

QD: The Nike ZoomFly 5 was the most recent shoe I purchased. Despite it being a very polarizing shoe between people who like and don’t like it over the history of the shoe, I’ve always felt that it was a great shoe for hitting workouts in regardless of the weight. There’s something magical about crushing most of your speed/tempo/threshold runs for a cycle in a heavier shoe and then slipping on the VaporFly for race day. Seth, I know you put a lot of “weight” into your reviews around weight, but weight always has its time and place, and I feel we’ve been spoiled with all the great shoes out there. As many fun and light shoes there are to run in out there, unless it’s my race day shoe, I’m probably not putting a lot of focus in on weight. I care more about comfort, lockdown, and ride. Keep up the awesome work! Your matrix videos are some of my favorites you do.

I ran in the Pearl Izumi's and loved them. After a jones fracture in 2017 I never felt comfortable in shoes. Tried asics gel cumulus, altra escalante, skechers forza and others and had terrible foot pain on any run over 45 minutes. I started watching your channel (and other running shoe channels) and discovered Hoka. I thought their meta-rocker sounded similar to the pearl izumi rocker geometry. I went with the clifton edges for a wider base (hoping it would help my foot pain) and low and behold, it did. For the first time in 5 years I could run naturally without foot pain. For 5 years I hated running because of the amount of time I'd need to ice my foot and never really feeling comfortable. Now I'm back. Running without pain was such an addiction, I found myself running nearly every day and getting back in the groove. I picked up a pair of standard clifton's and they've been a great addition as well.

    Virtue signaling.
I realize I'm not going to be an elite runner. And I don't have time or the skillset to help build the running community around here. So, I buy running shoes from my local shop. Helps them fund events and sponsor runners with potential to be elite. If I get to wear awesome shoes while supporting an awesome community, I'm down for that.

The main reason why I bought the Saucony Tempus was because I needed a more of an uptempo day shoe that still gave me support where I need it. I love how it is light for a stability shoe, fun to push the pace in, and still keeps me locked in. I watched your full review on this shoe and that’s what made me go out and purchase it.

QoD: Many reasons. I bought the novablast 2 late June this year because I had never even run in an asics shoe before so I wanted to try out the additional cushioning because before I was in the mach 4. I also bought it because I needed the arch support and I already thought it looked cool

  • @ravenweinmann7975

QOD: altra vanish tempo- had went through 6 or 7 pairs of mach 4s and they seemed to only last 300 instead of 450 towards the last couple pairs. Heard zero drop could alleviate some hip/back pain and the tempo seemed to fix everything you didn’t like in the vanish carbon review. Went out on a limb. Absolutely love them.

Saucony Endorphin Speed 2 - Been interested in trying for quite some time and caught a major deal on Amazon Prime Day. So went for it. Rotation was happy with Hoka Clifton 8, Hoka Mach 4, and ASICS Novablast…but loving the run even more with this newest addition.

QOD: I just picked up the Saucony Tempus. Reason being is that I’m a big endorphin speed fan, but I needed something as a workhorse with a touch of stability and more longevity than the speed to protect the legs daily. Then the Tempus hit the market with many of similarities to the speed, just minus the nylon plate. So far so good!👍🏻

QD: in late March on an impulse I signed up for a 3 trail run series (each about 10 miles). But I didn't have any trail running shoes. My first choice from reviews was the Speedgoat 5 but they were unavailable in my size, and I wanted to have the chance to train in them before the race. So I went with SG4s. They performed well, I especially appreciated the traction both in mud and steep rocky descents.

QD: The last show I bought was the Saucony Kinvara 13. The main reason I bought it was how it felt when I tried it on the treadmill in the shop. I was replacing my Altra Escalante Racers after over 2000 kms. I loved them, but based on your reviews I thought I would compare the Kinvara's to a new pair of Escalante Racers when I went into the shop. I wasn't expecting much because Saucony's don't usuall fit my feet but this one did. It felt great. The Kinvara 13 gave me a bit more cushion than the Escalante Racer without being mushy like the Escalante 2.5. I am a few months into them and so far, so good. Thanks for the heads up on them Seth. Without your review, I never would have tried them.

Maybe it's because people haven't asked for it, or it's not a common issue, but it would be nice if you'd add heavier runners and climbing/descending characteristics.
Most of my shoes (Asics/New Balance/Brooks/Saucony) handle these pretty well. But I feel like I completely wasted $140 by getting the Hoka Mach 5.
As a heavier runner, they completely bottom out on the soft Profly+ foam when running downhill and feel like I'm running on cheap shoes. Luckily they're still ok
as a short tempo shoe on level ground, but for heavier people, the Profly+ compresses to the point of feeling like they're slamming into the ground. And this is on less than 100 miles.

Tecton X": I bought it a few days ago, and I ran about 10 miles on Saturday. I should say it was one of the most comfortable trail shoes I have ever tried, I felt like I was running on the clouds. The only issue was that I rolled my ankle twice. I felt I need to be more careful when I'm out there running with these shoes.

I purchase running shoes with injury prevention in mind. I have a history of achilles/calf issues, so I run in shoes preferably with a 12mm drop (limits my choices) on easy day/recovery days I might run in a 10mm. Brooks Adrenaline/Ghost/Trace/Signal are all 12 mm. At your recommendation I pulled the trigger on a pair of Novablast! Love those trainers! Wish I could run in them more often!

QD: Bought the Saucony Endorphin Pro3 for an upcoming half marathon. I am just getting into races this is my second half marathon and wanted to start taking my shoe game more serious. Boy these did not disappoint. My feet felt great during the run and after the run.

QOD: Just picked up a pair of Vaporfly next% 2's. I bought these to PB my next marathon. I ran my fist one last December in Melbourne when I was quite new to running. I ran this in the More v3's after seeing all your epic reviews, like running on clouds!
This year we're going quicker, so warranted a faster shoe, plus Nike had certain colourways on sale. $335AUD down to $235AUD. Absolute steal! Huge PB coming October 2nd 🤲🤲

Glideride 3, purchased the first day it was available because the dual density midsole with the more flexible plate seemed exactly what I needed for my increased miles. Just took it over 100 miles this week and LOVE it!!

@@MattD86 only in the way the landing feels like effortlessly rolling forward. The upper midsole is FF Blast+ which is soft and feels amazingly comfortable.

QD: GlideRide3. I dealt with some Achilles Tendonitis the last time I was training for a marathon in 2019, wanted a shoe that would help prevent that. Liked, but didn’t love V1. V3 got great reviews, from you and others, and seemed like a no brained. It has been an awesome shoe so far!

QD: Bought a pair of Endorphin Speed 2 two months ago when it's on sale. Haven't use them yet, because my Speeds have only 600ish kms on them and there are still plenty of lifespan left. Speeds are my go to shoes for from M pace to threshold pace running. It's good to buy time-proofed last generation shoes when new gen comes out.

My last and current running shoe is the Asics Gel Kayano 27, i was young when doing my research and they advertised it was good for running on the road and trail and that sold me. I've got shin splints and many have told me that I should get extra padding for my shoes or better shoes so ive found myself here

QD: I’ve run in all types of shoes and I always chose with one thing in mind:
#1 reason is always whichever shoe I think is going to help me stay healthy. If there’s a little ache sometimes a good shoe choice can help. I take in to account how my weight feels distributed underfoot, if there are any pressure points on foot-strike, any issues with the upper (like when you need a bandaid for the Achilles 🚨), and lastly I use a little bit of runners intuition. 🤓

QOD Last shoes I bought were the Adidas Adizero Boston 10. Love my mile reacts for my cross country training but decided to try something new for this new upcoming season. Im chasing goals and a new pair of shoes can always make me feel confident when running. Bought them at an outlet store for $70 (who a steal) and have been using them for my long runs. Love the shoe and its sad that even only running my long runs in them they already have around 280km in them so in about a month and a half of two might have to buy a new pair, because they are just that good 😁

Last shoe was the Altra Escalante 3, mainly to strengthen my legs and to possibly see if it helped some issues that were arising. First day I out the box they came with me to the track and I've loved em ever since.

My last shoe was a fresh pair of Nike Dragonfly spikes. I raced in my 1st pair of them at Boston U in the IC4A 4x8 and, since I tend to race a bit aggressive, the upper got absolutely sliced before the first 400. Still held out to get me to a 1:53.17 relay split, but not enough for me to race in em again.

QOD: invincible 1 for $114 because I’m a budget guy. I RARELY get a duplicate pair because there are so many shoes in this world to run in but with 300 miles into pair one and halfway through a Chicago marathon training block, I had to protect the legs. Love the reviews, love the matrix. When Noosa goes on sale next year, drop a link below and I’ll go to Running Warehouse to swoop it up - right there right there right there

QD: Adidas Adizero Boston 11 was my last purchased running shoe. I have been using the Adios 4 to 6 and wanted to try the Boston, now that is quite different from the Adios line. So far I'm loving the Boston 11 and is is pretty stable besides the super high stack middlesole and my overpronation. The stability and not getting tired doing long runs using it is what amazed me. The Adios is still a " faster shoe". Got to try next from Adidas the Adios 7.
    Good day for everyone .

QOD: I have last year's Asics Evoride 2 and Skechers Razor excess. Both are lighter and mild rocker. Using them for easy and tempo days. The Asics Glideride 2 did not work well for my Creaking knees (OA), after the 3rd incidence of very pained knees, gave up on them. I am now coming back from 3 months of rest, and 2 months of recovery (swimming and cycling), hoping to just finish off a 10km run event in early October, and a 21km in mid November. Wishing you a stronger recovery.

QD: My last running shoe purchase was the ASICS Edge+. I needed a better alternative from the Endo Speeds I’ve been using for marathons. It’s the first CP shoe that felt right for my biomechanics, gait and cadence. I tried the Sky+ as well but believe I picked the right one for me. I hope it will turn out to be marathon worthy for me. First race I’ll test it will be the CIM Relay on which I’ll be doing the longer (1st) half, which is about 13.6 I believe. Now I’m also curious about the Endo Pro3 which seems to be quite improved and might be more appropriate for my April marathon. TBD….
