    Just did a long run in the superblast today. My favorite long run shoe for sure. Light, very protective soft enough without being squishy. Definitely no sinking in feeling. Very stable for stack height. Accommodates my wider foot. Very versatile. Initially slow paces were a little awkward but after a short break in period I enjoyed them. Very bouncy at faster paces as well.

    Not had chance to try the Triumph 21 so my choice would definitely be the Cloudsurfer 7, I use the Nimbus 25 as a walking shoe as it is comfy but too heavy even for easy runs for me

    I’m with Kieran, I got the cloud surfers back in April and I just want to wear them for everything. Mostly use them for easy runs, but I also got a mile pb in them as I went out in them on a day I was in a mood and decided to bomb it home. They just work and are holding up better than I expected as I’m a heavy footed runner.

    In the US, the Saucony Triumph 21 retails for $150, and the On Cloud Surfer is $160. Right now, in the US, in a multitude of colors and sizes, you can get the Puma Nitro Volocity 2 for $72. Because of its versatility and durability, I call that a no- brainer all day every day and twice on Sundays over its rivals. I have a pair in the beautiful new color Ultra Orange-Fresh Pear. Best color yet!

    For me it has to be the invincible 2s! I find that they are a lot more focused on the easy aspect of things than the 3s. Also do like the gel 25s.

    Superblast/Triumph.
    My main issue with most of the high cushion shoes is that their foams are so soft. Love nimbus fit, but they feel twice as heavy when running because the lack of response.
    Triumph is great, but it feels like it lacks at least 2mm + of foam in the forefoot. 27 mm is less than Speed 3 (27.5mm) and most other similar shoes has 30 + mm.
    Therefore I prefer Superblast. A bit awkward in the easist runs, but enough comfort’and response. And great weight.

    I saw on Asics website that the Kayano 30 is coming out soon. I have the Kayano gel 29 because I need the support and cushioning. Would be awesome if you could test the 30 when it comes out. I am usually skeptical about getting the next generation of shoes, like you said on the Saucony they only updated the upper, no not sure I want to pay more just because a shoe is newer

    My favourite now is the new balance 880... Not the softest but really good for easy runs and casual. Also lower profile. Also have the more v3 and invincible 2 but I'm over the bulky shoes.

  • @jacobd475
    @jacobd475 ปีที่แล้ว

    Quite the mixed bag in this video. From typical daily trainer - Puma Velocity, to a long run triumph 21, to totally max cushioned models. For me when it comes to cushioning, there must be something from New Balance. Recently NB Fuelcell SC trainer replaced my nike invincible as a easy day/recovery road running model. They're just more fun and effortless. They feel lighter and more natural. And I still feel fresh day after running in them. The older model NB Lerato became my favorite daily sneaker. Walking in them is like walking on clouds. And they look stylish too! And when it comes to running they are surprisingly fast and snappy. Carbon plate is definitely doing its job. And I finally found my easy day trail runner - NB Fresh Foam More Trail v2. Usually I hate Fresh Foam. I find it boring and unresponsive. But in this model they did it right. They are fun and protective. And they're surprisingly stable for that kind of stack height (unlike the newer model I guess). And where it comes to my daily trainers - Asics Noosa Tri 14 for road (light and comfy) and Dynafit Ultra 100 as a road to trail hybrid (exceptionally versatile and durable).

    Puma should immediately grab Nick as the official ambassador, in particular vn2. His cult-like recommendation made me buy a pair of vn2 and has no regret ever since.
    I am sure Nick alone is responsible for at least 20% of the vn2 sales. Puma should consult Nick on the next version of vn, for a meaningful alteration that worth the upgrade.

    At first I didn't see the use for a thicker 1080 v12, but the More v4 has become my new favourite cruiser! And it's cheap, because even though the full price is 160 euro, it's always heavily discounted. I got my first pair for 100, and the second yesterday for only 60. I like it off road too (nothing too challenging), so I'll probably get the trail version as well. The only downside is that I don't like the 1080 anymore 😂

Doesn’t matter what shoe type he’s meant to be reviewing this one is picked if he can or an honourable mention if he can’t force it in! 😂 . Guys how do i tell when it is time to retire to shoes. I've been running around 15 months and my More V3 have 620km in them. New balance wouldn't give me any advice.

    • @jakepeter8770
      @jakepeter8770 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on the shoe model. Rebel v2 the upper will give out first, mach 5 the outsole will give out first, it all depends. Probably go with your gut instinct. Your gait/running style will make every case different. If they are causing you any pain, or feel they might injure you then retire. Move v3 are built like a tank. I have 400km on mine and the outsole has hardly any wear. I think they would easily go 800km or more. But i get bored so I'll probably retire around 600, try something new

    • @TheRunTesters
      @TheRunTesters  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, it can massively vary depending on the shoe, running style and where you run. Difficult to assign an amount of time a shoe will last. The other thing you need to think about is what you're using them for. A lot of people retire performance shoes from their intended purpose but use them as a recovery shoes, easy day shoes once they start to feel like they've lost their edge. The More V3 should last a while without feeling tired as the foam is relatively dense - wouldn't expect the same from something like the Nike Invincible. 620km is a good innings for any shoe, but if it still feels good, keep going.

    • @chrisvanbuggenum871
      @chrisvanbuggenum871 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jakepeter8770 thanks mate. Yeah i think I'll give them another 200km and call it quits. I got the More V4 lined up which was on sale. The V3 still feel great but last run i don't think i gave them long enough to recover because they didn't feel as good. Haven't felt that before, so i think 800km will do.

    • @chrisvanbuggenum871
      @chrisvanbuggenum871 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheRunTesters thanks i guess there are a lot of factors. The upper and outer sole are still great, but i had a run recently and they didn't feel as good. I think the foam didn't recover from the last run, but it made me wonder if they were starting to show some age. And then the More V4 went on sale, so i got my next recovery shoes lined up and waiting. I think I'll do another couple hundred and call it quits. Thanks for the response!
