      @@primorock8141 I remember, several years ago, one reivewer was complaining that certain laptops (e.g. the first HP Omen) had ports on the back of the laptop instead of the sides, and complained that it was inconvenient. Couple years later, same reviewer talking about a different laptop was praising how the ports at the back kept cables out of the way.
      There is a "fashion"/fad where I think many reviewers who've already seen what other people have talked about, also do the same thing and talk about it the same way too - that causes a "trend" and then after that everybody talks about it as if it's something important. One finger lid opens are nice but how important is it, really? are you going to use the laptop with just one hand, is your other hand tied to your back?

    My main complaint with Razer, which goes for many manufacturers, is they won't let you order it with more ssd and ram options, or the option to have it shipped w/o. Though looking at these reviews i'm glad I got mine last year since the 6 core seems to perform about the same as the now 8 core.

    I might just wait till 2021 to get a new gaming laptop then. Every laptop that I've eyed myself has some things that are disappointing. 2021 should be a year to improve battery life, performance, thermals, built quality and even portability. The market really needs to perfect in many aspects for it's consumers and for the people that look towards these kinds of things. I hope Nvidia's new 3000 series cards improve performance and battery life to show a significant impact in gaming allowing the GPU to become a bigger priority than CPU although both being very relevant. It makes me somewhat cringe that these issues have not been solved from years. Even the most premium gaming laptops will have issues. It's a shame to see companies like Razer charge so much when it isn't worth that much generally. They need to reach out to consumers and e Sports people to actually figure out these types of issues, also considering tech reviewer's opinions and thoughts so they can incorporate in next year's designs/models rather than putting new irrelevant things that are negligible..

    • @Flow_Moonlight
      @Flow_Moonlight 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Gpu only gives a 5% fps boost for free while plugged and Optimus extend battery as the blade is meant to be a portable workstation. G-sync isn't as good as everyone thinks as it increases input lag if your fps exceeds the refresh rate.

    • @haloshadowsnipe3014
      @haloshadowsnipe3014 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Flow_Moonlight The whole point of G-Sync is to SYNC the FPS to the refresh rate, it is usually used TOGETHER WITH an FPS cap of the display's refresh rate.
      For example, I play rocket league on a 120Hz monitor but I use G-Sync with an FPS cap in game at 120FPS.
      Much smoother when the FPS dips due to lag, and there is no input lag when it sits at 120FPS.

    2) low refresh rate like 60hz with nvidia g-sync

    • @27Binx72
      @27Binx72 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely the 300hz or 144hz. Don't bother with a 60hz for gaming. It depends honestly. GSYNC is a nice to have, but not absolutely necessary like I used to think it was. Got this exact model recently, without GSYNC, and because of the high refresh rate/low ms response times, I don't notice any tearing or ghosting. I'm really sensitive to that stuff too. If you're having fun, then you're not going to notice. GSYNC also doesn't solve all problems; it's not a silver bullet. It resolves noticeable tearing at low FPS and some stuttering, but it can't solve engine stutter from a poorly optimized game or when assets are loading in. I'd focus on getting a fast, good quality screen and if it happens to have GSYNC, then it's just a bonus in my opinion. GSYNC really only becomes necessary when you keep a system for a long time and you start getting low frame rates at low settings, then yes, it's a night and day difference. If you're someone that replaces your systems every 2-3 years, then it doesn't matter as much as everyone says it does. I'm someone that plays at medium settings because I care more about higher framerates and the visual quality differences between medium and ultra aren't even noticeable when you're actually playing and the FPS hit isn't worth it.
      To summarize: Focus on high refresh rate, image quality/accuracy and response times because ghosting is very noticeable. If it has GSYNC after all of that, then awesome. Otherwise, enjoy your games and don't worry about it.

If you are searching for something powerful, yet still sturdy enough to carry around with no worry it will break or crack, then Razer is the way to go. But if all you care about is pure performance, then brands like Lenovo, Asus or MSI will do. Though, avoid Acer and HP - their gaming laptops look like they are good budget options, but they are not very durable at all.
      PS: If you search for something balanced, then I think Legion 5 with RTX 3060 or better is a nice shoice. Lenovo's build quality is good, even with plastic, and when it comes to performance it is perfectly capable of running any game or task.

      Battery life would be somewhat higher (Most of battery drain comes from GPU, not CPU), but also gaming performance would be slightly slower as the single-core performance is still lagging behind Intel.
