The battery on mine is starting to puff ugh. Thanks so much for this. Update: its been a bit since I ordered and installed the laptop battery recommended here. Its working great. Been playing things like monster hunter and final fantasy 14 with no issues and way less overheating issues.
A tip for others. My battery was so swollen that when I unscrewed that side it physically and forcibly pushed the base plate. So I recommend people loosen those screws a little to see if there is any sign of that pressure. In which case I suggest tightening the screws again if you can and buy a new battery before proceeding with whatever else you were doing. I upgraded RAM and am running my blade without a battery while waiting for delivery.

Just had the same thing happen. Letting razer take the L on this one because I'm in warranty but I'll be picking up a replacement to have on standby. Had never been a laptop guy but the Mercury White blade tempted me one dark April afternoon. Depending on your specific laptop you can manage the second stick without removing the display ribbon cable. They have it pretty heavily protected and you're more liable to knick the RAM. If you buy an external hard drive/nvme/sata ssd case you can actually migrate the os and all of your files without needing to reinstall windows and buy, if you want, a windows key. And after you copied everything you just swap the disks and you are ready to go
Hey man, great video, was wondering which Razor Blade to buy, looks like it's pretty modular so it all comes down to what GPU and CPU I ultimately want.
Awesome Video! But i have a question, do you need to install any wifi drivers when upgrading the ssd because i've heard that you can just download a wifi driver on an external drive and then you only have to update windows to install all the other drivers needed. How does this work?
thank you for this video, I have the same laptop I was cleaning the fans and after I assembled everything again my screen didnt work. I opened it again to check but everything is fine, any ideas??
RAM Brand does not matter as much as making sure you are getting the correct physical size and RAM speed, but at the same time don't buy RAM from a no-name manufacturer. This kit we used in this video has worked well so far, but you can always check out other types of ram using Crucial's RAM Advisor: www.crucial.com/store/advisor

Hi, great vid! 2 questions? Does that battery work with the Razor blade 15 BASE 2020 model? or only advance as mentioned? And does it really improve much with ram and NMVE harddisk?
Hey! I'm a newbie to upgrading laptops so your clear explanation is really helpful :) Just want to ask, should this process be more or less the same for the RB15 Advanced (2020)? Also, can you provide a link to a tutorial to create a Windows bootable instance? I don't have any data to transfer from the old SSD, but I read that no matter what, only having one M.2 slot in the laptop means that you need an M.2 to USB adapter to swap them. Just taking the old one out and putting the new one looks much easier...
My Razer Blades battery is finally starting to puff up a bit, I went to go check the link in the description for the battery he used as a replacement. But it's saying that the page isn't found? Is there a new link or website I could purchase the same battery used in the video from? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hi, can i know how this razer blade performs today?? Is it still alive? Are you facing many issues during the years up until now?? Sorry I'm asking this, because there are alot of people having problems with their razer laptop like the presents of several issues with their laptop, thank you :)
Hey man great video, was shopping around for RAM upgrades for the same laptop, and was wondering if you considered ram sticks with higher speeds than the 2666, and if you think its worth the extra money?
You could use higher speeds but unless your CPU supports it itll just be throttled. Ik desktop intel cpu's are set to a certain ram speed unless you buy the overclock able version so maybe look up your CPU on your laptop, but if you have a amd cpu, you can go for 3200MHz no problem though you might wanna dubble check its enabled on your bios

Battery swelling on these machines is most likely down to the quality of cells Razer chooses to buy from a random manufacturer, which can be spotty from time to time.
