  • A video showing the dynatek ignition and coil install. I did not know whether to bypass the original deutch connecter from the stock ignition and harness or to wire directly to the coil and voes switch, so I called dynatek and spoke with larry and he clarified that this is correct.

Nice video man. But be careful riding in very hot weather. My friend was running the same unit here in Phoenix Az and his unit recently decided to take a crap due to constant exposure to the heat. Other than that it seems to have been a very good ignition system as it has many options as far as hooking it up to various types of ignitions. Good luck bro!

More likely he was on the wrong timing curve these units aren’t bulletproof but they are designed to take the heat that the engine typically produces just saying. Very possible his unit shit the bed due to heat but 1 thing to remember these programmable timing curves affect heat output as well as many other system killing variables so just remember to be clear on which timing curve u are supposed to use with your setup !

Question about the Ignition Control Module thats under the dorito behind the battery.....that system bypasses that? No need for an IGCM then? I would like to upgrade one of my other bikes. Thanks....

Great video! I assume by disconnecting the Deutsh connector from the module and cam positioning plate and replacing it with the dynatek ,the only wires of importance from the disconnected Deutsh connector are the white and pink to the coil. I assume they still have power when turned on? Thanks.................

Does your red led light indicator continuously flash when running? I believe I have problems with mine and the red Led light will not turn on with the ignition on or when cranking it over. Is your red led light flash when running or turned on?

Did you ever figure out what this was or is it normal?

@@kodymelton11 I spoke with a Tech at Dynatek (a year ago) and he stated that the Red LED light should last for life. He would not commit to whether or not the ignition module would be faulty whether the Red LED was visible or not. He stated that I would need to send it to the factory for testing to be sure. He also offered me a discount for a new one if it tested faulty. So, I just went a bought a new one and installed it. After additional trouble shooting(still cutting out) I also found out speaking with a Teck at S&S regarding carb failure possibility ( it's either ignition or a fuel problem) that I may have a float bowl adjustment problem. I've owned many motorcycles and never had a out of adjustment float bowl, very unusual. Adjusted the float bowl and installed the new ignition module, and the bike runs like a bat out of hell! So, it's hard to say whether the ignition module was faulty to begin with? Hope this helps...................

Did you switch from a dual fire to a single fire?

He is running single fire. 3 poles on the coil. dual fire only uses two.
