So both my parents got married to their respective partners last month and somehow, both of them “forgot” to invite me. I’m 26M and live out of state for work, so I had no idea that they were even getting married. They did not announce the engagement on social media, they kept it all private. And even the weddings were pretty low-key, it was just their immediate families and a few friends.
Regarding your friends who think you are “being a bit entitled”, consider ditching them. There are lots of wonderful people to befriend, and these people are not wonderful.

In the movie Clueless starring Reese Witherspoon there is a line where a father who went through a bitter divorce still is a major part of his step daughter's life even though he is not her biological father and when asked why he still is so good to her his answer was this "You divorce a spouse but you do not divorce children".

Years ago. My brother got a tattoo of an armband with his 3 kids names in it. His then wife commented " why not my name too?" He said because only children are forever.
It's sad, he divorced his wife, got custody of his 3 children and lost a daughter in a car wreck when she was 16.

No, just don’t invite them, and if pressed, ask why they thought they’d be invited, or had any right to be invited. Make them explain it, and when they say “we’re your parents o tell them directly no, they’re not, they used and abandoned me, and specifically told me I was a past failure to be forgotten.

The most sacred bond possible between 2 people is having a child together, even more so than marriage. No wonder they had a bitter divorce. It is not possible for 2 parents to love each other and not love their child.

I hope OP realizes he needs to keep in contact with both sets of grandparents who genuinely love him and have his back. One day when he's being too busy, he will lose them and regret his actions for the rest of his life.
Drop the friends. Because you shouldn't feel hurt. That is not entitled. And contacting your grandparents to complain and straighten the lie up they told them.

Please remember you don't have to invite these people to your wedding or include them as future grandparents because they don't want to be reminded of the past and when they are old and optimistic of assistance sorry you don't need that I remind you of the past
Please take this as a opportunity to leave selfish people you have your grandparents who needs a mother and father as shallow as they are you are not the past you are their security for their old age but they don't have any emotional attachment to their only biological child
Please don't pay their debts it's far more than your college costs they said they where giving all of that to you I think they are selfish and manipulative
My parents got married to their new partners within a week of each other.
My mom's marriage lasted until she passed away, my dad and his wife separated after 12 years 😂

My parents divorced when I was 6. They have been with their respective partners now for over 30 years. And they are friendly to each other. As my mom put it... " we were just not right for each other "
Friends are supposed to be there for you to vent to and ask for advice. If you didn't ask for advice or how to fix it. Then you were just vented. So that is the time to just listen.

OP not sure why your friends think you’re entitled 🤷🏼♀️ Apparently you were a good student, accepted at a prestigious college, parents paid for your college with loan from both grandparents although unbeknownst to you! You merely contacted your grandparents regarding your parents wedding, normal behavior, they found out the truth about so many lies your parents perpetrated! Karma hits hard 🤣

If the parents don't pay back the grands, then their share can come out of any inheritance when the grands die. I somehow don't think the parents are going to be prompt in payment, even if the grands get a judgement in court.
So you don't need to fix anything. They should have. They were adults and choose the actions.

Well both parties need to send calls, texts and emails. It's not all on one person.
Sounds like both parents wanted to cut out their immediate families. Can't get anymore immediate then parents and child. They should have thought long and hard. Not like you guys were asking to be part of the wedding party. Just an invite. They need to think of ALL the consequences to that. Such as when you get married and have kids or when your grandparents die. All because you don't want to see these people. You can't even say it's just a small wedding for just 10 to 20 people. There is no excuse and if you didn't have a fit with either of them not your grandparents. I'd be even more angry if the people they married had their kids and parents there or even went to the others wedding.
None of the guest at either wedding asked where the son was?

It's not the parents job to pay for college. N attitude that he didn't regret it because that's what parents are for is bull. All thus because a grown adult who was always to busy to come home or stay in touch is upset he wasn't invited to parents wedding?
