I had a Switch Lite before trading it for a regular Switch. Honestly if the Switch Lite could be docked it would simply be perfect, it's simply the BEST handheld experience I've ever had. The buttons feel amazing and premium, the screen looks sharp and the console is super light. I love being able to detach Joy-Cons, dock it to the TV and being able to customize my Switch with any accessory I want, but my God I don't think the regular Switch can ever mimic how good the Lite feels in handheld mode
Switch Lite is really the 2DS of the Switch family, and Nintendo exactly knew who its made for with its unibody durable form factor and cute color options. Plus its an option if you have multiple kids in a family and 200$ is an easier price to swallow for Christmas gift purposes for the average parents. Recent sale statistics did showed that its mostly women and kids that owned a Switch Lite, so its great to have more people that can enjoy their games on the Switch that they wouldn't otherwise with the regular Switch! I may not daily drive a Lite, but my siblings does and its always good to have options like this for kids, casual gamers or just anyone who prefers something more portable.
Isn't it awesome, that Nintendo gives us all these different options to enjoy their games, why fight which shall be perfect for everybody and doom everything else. There is no such one solution for all, praise diversity for everbody's different purposes! Thx for the vid, man!
When I originally got the original switch back in 2018 It was precisely "for the family" and not my own. I wanted my very own personal switch that can take with me anywhere and anytime. When the switch lite got announced back in 2019 figured definitely wanted that for Christmas, and of course I've got it for Christmas! had no issues with it as well and had an absolute blast with it!
personally i love using my switch lite more than my home switch. Just about every point you made are reasons why. I cant be bothered using my home switch portably unlike the lite
I just wanted switch lite with oled screen. I love the ergonomy on light, but I also love the colors on oled so combination would be a perfect fit for me.
I use the dockable Switch mainly for local multiplayer and motion games. Most single player are in the Lite (roguelike, jrpg, puzzle, unlocking level and stuff for couch gaming, etc.). Lite is much more comfortable in the jean pocket with the official flip cover.
I preferred NS lite bcoz it's lowkey in public, as an adult who still played games, NS lite is a treasure for me😂 i do mind what others think coz we lived in a world were ppl judges what you doin at that age😂
Crazy to think it's socially acceptable to stare at your phone all day but if you swap it with anything else like a handheld console, people look at you funny.
@@MetallicFear Indeed 😂 the only problem to NS Lite are the buttons is too fragile 😂 Games that required a lot of pressing will wear out the buttons 😂 Well I'm into turn based rpg that's why my NS Lite is happy with me 😂
@@gomisekaiplease don’t use NS as a Short form for Nintendo Switch 😭😭 it’s literally the official short term for Natinalsozialisten and for gods sake I hope you know what that is
@@EXPeepikIn germany at least NS is a short term for Nationalsozialisten or Nazis, the german people that caused WW2. We talk about the NS Regime for example.
for people on the go, switch lite makes sense. Its so lightweight and feels much much better on the hands as a portable system and its very compact. I also don't need to buy any big bulky switch case etc. Switch lite + OLED screen would be really nice !
I'm currently looking for a Switch after 6 years of wanting one. Honestly, the only thing that truly stops me from buying a lite is joycon drift-- if not for that issue I would've bought it in a heartbeat as I (honestly) do not mind the inability to dock to a bigger screen. I'm saying this as a student because repairs can be expensive in my country (Nintendo does not have a presence where I live, so sending it to them would be such a huge hassle). I would rather shell out the additional cash for peace of mind, even if I would never use docked mode. That being said, I really appreciate Nintendo for making a lighter and cheaper alternative, making switch gaming accessible to a wider range of people! I just wish the build quality of the joycons were better or improved upon in later models especially after all the backlash these past few years. I hope Nintendo's next gen console takes note! Great video btw! Subscribed!
I've owned a Switch Lite for 2 years and it's still working fine. About the drift, there are plenty of tutorials on how to replace sticks on both, regular Switch & Lite. It might be a cultural thing or fear of tinkering with our own consoles is somewhat spread around. It's really hard to mess up while following guides, just be careful with ribbon cables. Personally I've even replaced my 3DS shell, buttons, bottom screen and digitizer too.
I really like my switch lite, the only problem is that when you play some games that are a little more graphically intense or more detailed, the screen feels a bit too small. Throughout my playthrough of Luigi’s mansion 3, I spent half the time squinting at the screen with my face several inches away. 2d games like stardew and Celeste are fantastic on it though. Makes me wish there was a just a unibody form factor with the specs of the oled.
if you've never bought any switch here is wtf you SHOULD DO......buy a lite sit back do your gaming on the couch while you wait for the next gen switch to come out then buy the next gen one
I disagree. For the price? Yeah, I guess. However, not having TV support, rumble being gone, to me I just believe that the basic switch is just more worth it. I own both.
imo i don't really care about the lack of features on the lite cause tv support useless to me cause i don't have a tv so yeah I really don't care. my opinion*
As someone who has a ps5 I actually prefer a Lite, the Switches aging hardware blown up on a big TV will look muddy over time. Although Nintendo 1st party usually gets around this with excellent aesthetics and art direction the switches limited power just looks more appropriate on a smaller screen.
@@DogginsFroggins I see where you are coming from. The Lite.. and even handheld mode show the screen way better because of the size they can hide the differences.
I prefer the feel of the Switch Lite by a wide margin, but some of the best games on the Switch platform are Wii U ports that are intended to be played on a TV-sized screen. When shrunk down to the Lite's small screen, certain details can become impossible to see. Wanting to play Breath of the Wild, but struggling to see certain attacks and projectiles led me to get a standard Switch. What I learned from having both was, with a Nintendo Online account, your save data is saved and synchronized online, so no matter which device you grab, you can pick up from your last save. I've now upgraded to a Switch OLED, but the usage is still the same: if I'm gaming on the go, it's with the Switch Lite. If I'm going to hang out with a friend at his home, I will take the OLED, but otherwise it lives in the dock. So which Switch should you buy? I think the best answer is: both.
That's interesting cause I basically played breath of the wild solely in handheld mode and it really felt perfect for it but I didn't enjoy it as much when I switched to dock mode as it look a bit too blurry for my liking. Might also have to do with using headphones while playing in handheld, it also felt more immerse to a degree. I was just addicted to breath of the wild when I played it through summer 2019 and played it in bed till I started getting tired.
@@supersmashmaster43 I never played a 3rd person 3D game on a console until BotW. After SNES, I was PC only until 2020. Might have just been part of the learning curve. I don’t struggle with it now, but that’s with hundreds of hours in BotW, TotK, and Immortals - Fenyx Rising. I’m used to that sort of gameplay now.
I got a Switch Lite for Christmas this year. I love it! I didn’t have a Switch and wanted to play Tears of the Kingdom, and it’s been the best handheld gaming experience I’ve ever had!!
My only complain about the switch is literally the drifting problem, and since the lite can not disconnect the controlle r (i mean its too obvious) if the drifting happened, it really bummed me to send my entire console just to fix the damn thing. Outside of that, yeah this version is perfect
I just bought my third Switch Lite today. Sold the first one in turquoise for $110 after getting it for $90. Then sold a coral one earlier today for $120 after getting it only for $70 like 2 days ago. That's a $70 net profit. Used it to get a second turquoise Lite an hour after selling that coral and it's in flawless condition like the previous two. I really only spent $30 on it if I deduct the $70 net profit from selling the other two. I was going to buy a regular Switch on 4th of July but hated the weight of it. I'll only stick to Lites for now on. Only reason why I sold my first one after 7 months owning it was the analog stick would no longer turn right. If the analog stick gets bad again playing hours of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, I'll get the hall effect sensor parts from Amazon and get them replaced from a repair shop. I'll also buy a compatible wireless Bluetooth controller for it.. For my needs, Switch Lite is the perfect form factor. I don't want anything larger than this. Switch Lite is as large and heavy as I want to go. It's perfect next to my black, modded Vita 2000. This also means no Steam Deck for me. I can't tolerate carrying large handhelds.
I wish the lite had already been released when I bought my switch, I absolutely would have chosen it over the normal switch for the exact reasons you named here! I rarely play in docked mode anyway and regularly turn off the rumble function because I think it is uncomfortable in many games, so missing either of those would not have been a great loss for me, and lower price and higher durability would have been more important to me personally! Glad to see someone seriously talking about the lite as more than just a "switch for kids"!
The switch lite might be more powerful than the PS Vita however, the PS Vita was way ahead of its time. On launch the PSVita came with -Oled Screen(in 2012) -960x544 resolution -remote play with ps4/ps3 consoles -music -were able to play most of the previous psp titles along with new ones -touch screen -back touchpad Edit: -they even offered 3G AT&T plans for having data on the go. And more. Honestly if the ps vita didn’t fail the way it did Sony would’ve had another PlayStation portable on their hands.
The build quality of the regular switch is so bad imo, exactly as you say, it's such a bad feeling knowing you can rip the joycons off while holding it. They also disconnect a lot for no apparent reason in handheld mode. I want a Switch Lite; the feel, build, look and d-pad are so much better than the regular switch. I just can't justify spending so much money unless my joycons are completely unusable.
I got both lite and OLED models. And I actually use the lite model far more frequently than the OLED one! Never regretted having both of them. But to be honest, which model to pick is largely depends on what kind of game you usually play if you want to have the best experience. I usually play games which you don’t have much expectation on the picture quality or a relaxed style game (such as Animal Crossing, Story of Seasons etc) on lite. 3A games such as Zelda undoubtedly have to be played on OLED.
No, I shouldn’t buy one. My Switch always stays docked. If I’m not in front of the TV or PC, it means I’m doing something else. You don’t need to be gaming 24/7.
Im just gonna say this to people who want portable only. If someone is telling you "dont get the switch lite it isnt worth it you cant remove the joy cons and cant play it on the tv" if this isnt something you want and you feel discuraged dont. If you want the switch lite go for it. If not well thats your decision and im not gonna antagonize yall or normal switch users. Just pick whatever the hell you want. Dont let other people dictate what you need to buy
Easiest way to decide. Can you afford a Switch OLED? If yes, buy one. If no, can you afford a normal switch? If yes, buy one, if no, can you afford a switch lite? If yes, buy one, if no, go check eg-warehouse stock etc. In the UK I bought my brand new Switch Lite for £95 from a clearance sale shop. Argos has many of them.
I see a lot of kids under 7 or 8 years old get actual switches, and I’m just like “why not get them a lite? It’s cheaper, they won’t risk losing the controllers if they detach them, and you don’t have to worry about your kid dealing with any cords or a dock. It’s just one charging port and they’re all set”
i want too remind you that a lot of 7-8 year olds also have friends too play with and also play with their parents. + most children also want too play on a bigger screen.
@@Escherichia. I’m not gonna die on this hill or anything because what you’re saying makes a lot of sense. But just because you have a lite doesn’t mean you can’t buy or connect other joycon to it and play with it propped up against something. It doesn’t have a kickstand but I’m usually propping my normal switch up against something else anyways
@@corbinmoore96 i totally agree! its just i definitely see children preferring too play on a tv , whilst also playing with their parents (or friends), doesnt say that your point isnt correct though.
I had switch lite and i did like it but was the screen was tad small and sometimes couldnt make out some text in some games, had to get mangifying glass. What i think they should done was stretched out the screen like they did and had brighter screen like th oled. Also shape it a better where felt better in grips. I didint mind you couldnt dock it an dplay on screen, as it was supposed to be handheld. Shame nintendo didint try making Nintendo switch lite pro or switch lite oled.
OLED is suppose to feel "premium" by customer. If Lite would be oled then why regular one is lcd? If there is no lcd switch model left in offer then nintendo can`t charge ton of money for "premium" oled version because it would be standard nowadays. Oled is almost everywhere, only low-end phones are getting lcd now.
I've had the Switch Lite for over a year, and even now, I don't have to deal with joystick drift. Then again, it's not really drift, but rather the console detecting inputs incorrectly when I tilt the joystick forward too hard and the console reading joystick inputs for a little too long. That's mainly noticeable and slightly annoying on the main menu and settings. The only problem I have is that there's no way to play on a monitor or a TV. I just never had the need for that feature, but now I actually have people to play games with.
Don´t even think about getting the regular Switch or OLED if you´re not playing in docked mode. This one perfect and the price is undisputed. Having mine since july 2022.
3 Tips: For your Switch to not to have drift or It to be ruined. 1: Wash your hands and dry them. 2: Clean your Switch Once every week at least. ( Like Clean the screen- And the joysticks. And use the Right stuff. ) 3: Don't press the buttons to hard. Or Use The Joy sticks aggressively. Reasoning: If you play the Switch like an Xbox/ps Player than your Switch is not going to last long, ( JoySticks )| Cause like if you play it like an xbox/ps player it obviously is not going to last long then just get a laptop or xbox/ps. cause why the hell do you play on it so aggressively?.
this is so true. switch lite has such a great quality, and you can also play on tabletop mode. i have been playing on switch lite for 2+ years, i have been playing 15+ different games on it, and i just really reccomend it.
I love the lite. It's so lightweight, portable, and solid. You can hold it with one hand by the sides without damaging the joycon rails, because there are none. The screen is small and dense. It has a d-pad and it's great, even though comments on the internet say otherwise, which is not true, at least for the revision I use. In other words, it feels like a true handheld, honoring the value proposition of the GB, GBA, DS, and 3DS.
I had an OG Switch which was hacked. I was able to download any game I wanted. But in the end I sold it and eventually bought a Lite. Rather than having an infinite supply of copied games, my Lite just has 8 or 9 bangers that I want to play. The machine feels way nicer to play too.
Would be my dream form factor for the “switch 2 lite” or whatever it ends up being called Oled panel, non-detachable controllers and the option to dock over USB C 🤩
I am getting a Nintendo Switch Lite in a few days for a trip I am going to have. In my opinion, the Lite is perfect for me. Portable (since we are going on plane), not TV compatible (I never use my brother's Nintendo Switch on the TV), and LITEweight (not too heavy). Honestly the perfect size for me. I am really excited!
I thought of getting a lite model just because of the portability. I play a lot in public transport, and it's a headache to get a switch case out of a bag, then to get switch out of the case, and put case in a bag and then back again, when you're near your bus stop. But instead i just got an Anbernic 35xx, and it's doing wonders, because it fits in my pocket, and some retro games can be played one handed!
I've had my switch lite since they launched. It has been so good to me! I never have had the joystick issue and mine is one of the first generation. I think people were honestly just treating the switch lite like trash and setting it down face first, or dropping it onto the sticks. I have played lots of "joystick heavy" games and i get no drift. The battery is not bad at all, i dont play on full brightness because the screen is so bright anyway! You dont need it on full brightness even outside in the sun. It is perfect for games that are remasters of gamecube or older games. I really enjoy the ty the tasmanian tiger series and its perfect on the switch lite. Skyrim, Stardew Valley, are other amazing portable options. Even Green Hell, a survival game, looks and runs decent with 30fps and lower resolution. Im a gamer of all sorts. Pc, console, emulators, etc, i would recommend a switch lite to anybody looking for a "lazy" gamer day. You just wanna curl up on the couch/bed and have some snacks and play whatever game, even at a friend's house because its fully portable. One of my only complaints is that the shell of the switch is so flat that my hand can cramp if im laying down and holding it, but a case with some grip or the little handles on the side like a controller fixes that problem %100.
if you just want a handheld, like a ds, or dsi, or 2ds, or 3ds, etc. i would recommend a switch lite. i started out with one, and all of the major differences between a regular switch was just docking it to the TV.
I have both. A pink switch lite and a totk edition switch OLED. While I play my OLED the most I find that switch lite is useful for travel situations. I'm a girl with little hands and while the switch lite fits my hands and fits in my mini backpack very well. The OLEDs bigger and better screen + tabletop mode is awesome to have. I always switch between the 2 because the handheld experience is really good on the lite but then I miss the big screen of the OLED.
A good friend of mines i work with gave me his Nintendo switch lite for my 30th birthday last year, i only played it a few times and i let it sit after that for a year but i just charged it up and created a Nintendo account and brought need for speed hot pursuit remastered off Nintendo eshop store, wanted the Nintendo switch oled but i guess I'll stick around with this one
I don't own a Switch Lite but my mom does and i just love how it doesn't have the dreaded joycon drift while the switch i own does as of now, i honestly would have gotten a switch lite in the past if i did know about joycon drift before getting a regular switch.
The single most important peice of information people need to consider when buying a Switch Lite is that "stick drift" is still very much a thing, Nintendo has never addressed it and if you get stick drift on a Lite model you will have to send your entire system in to be fixed unless you're privey to pulling apart the system yourself, the point is you cant simply walk into a game store and buy a replacement joycon like you can with a regular model or even buy a full on controler attachment for it with better sticks and buttons which they sell for regular models. This point should really be addressed in the video because its honestly a very critical point of information a buyer should have when considering the options.
never said i had one either lol my switch looks like i just pulled it from the box was only stating you can use a pro controller if needed@@torianmcneill3794
I think the best option is both having the normal switch for tv and lite for portable . I know normal is portable too , yes but not as portable as the lite and it depends on person since I’m out and about the lite is perfect for me on the go
I wanted to like the Switch Lite but have been through 2 models. 1st one had the L button get stuck and the next one had an analogue stick not respond (which resetting the device didn't fix). I reverted back to standard model. Sure it's not as portable and the joycon place is somewhat wobbly but with my Switch Lites having issues, I'll just use the standard switch.
From what I saw in reviews is the thing that no one took the way it should've been. Nintendo switch was meant for long time gaming with more usefulness (TV). Switch Lite was meant for playing while travelling and NOT all day gaming. I mean, it has the word "Lite" for a reason beinng "weaker" version of the original. If people want to play at home, all day, with TV, choose switch because replacing joycons is easier that way. But since Lite was meant for not playing all day, at home, with TV, why need to "switch". The only reason, why it is called "Switch Lite is becaause Lite version looks like original Switch so people don't mistake the consoles. The important thing is the word "Lite". So yes, Switch Lite is underrated but it mainly depends on what type of gamer you are, by that, you choose the console. I want to buy Lite version because I wouldn't play on it all day and I wouldn't use the full potention of original (TV) so it makes more sense to me to buy Lite instead
This doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I prefer the higher pixel density and smaller screen because of the Switches lacking power. Considering the lite has literally the same power how is it "weaker", you are reaching here.
@@DogginsFroggins English is not my first language and some words have different meaning/translation to my language, sorry about that. I didn't mean literally weaker, what I meant was that Lite's purpose is lowered because Lite is Handheld only without removable joycons. Original switch can be connected to TV, can be played handheld, can change joycons, use joycons while playing with someone locally. This is what I meant "weaker". Lite's purpose is different than Original's. If I understood right, some people, who made reviews, tried to compare them in ways where Lite and Original was uncomparable. Yes of course, you can compare hardware between original and Lite but can't compare their purpose. I mean, saying that Lite is basically "not that worth it" because you can't plug it to TV is stupid because Lite is meant for travel mainly, not home usage like original. Same goes with the name. It's called Switch, even tho you can't switch the joycons, because they are similar looking consoles with similar hardware. I mean, if Switch Lite was named differently, would it make sense when the consoles look, work and are built similary? In my opinion, no. That's what I was trying to say in my first comment and why I also think that Lite is underrated. If you have more questions? Feel free to ask :)
I enjoy handheld gaming so much more than playing in front of a big screen, and so I enjoy playing with the Lite very much. The Lite is perfect for my purposes, like many other who prefer handheld gaming. I find it very strange when people desperately wanna praise a perfect system that everyone has to use. Why not just accept that there is not one solution for everybody, celebrate diversity, man. :D
I bought the switch the day it came out. Was in hotel 8(army training stuff) at the time and didn't have access to a tv (or any gaming device for that matter) so I had got the switch light and was absolutely glued to the thing. Then when I got to my unit and had access to all my stuff again, I promptly put it away and haven't played on it since then. Only turned it on once I bought a regular switch to transfer my stuff over.
I think the odds are still pretty low without actual hardware modifications like modchips, ordering a V1 unpatched switch without joycons usually isn't that expensive. But hey who knows what modding future holds
Well, I tried the Lite before deciding for a red box model, and the build quality is pretty excellent. I just bought the one I have now because of the mutliplayer aspect, because my sister and I love to play in co-op on the same TV. I'm not even thinking about motion controls or anything here, but it's still nice to have the option. So the Lite is not for everyone, but kids will appreciate having a portable, solid system to play cool games. I've seen some myself so yeah.
Honestly, if you have the money then it would be beneficial to have both the Lite and the Full Switch. You can use the full one for a more complete console experience that others can easily join in on, and use the Lite to have the mobility and all the unique benefits of a smaller, lighter and more complete handheld. It’s a costly investment though, and unless you’ve got a lot of extra money to spare then it might not be worth it. You could ask your family to pitch in for some of the cost, but then you’d have to convince them to make the investment since they might not initially see the purpose to it. Either way, it’s up to you if you want to do it. Personally I don’t have the money to do so and want to invest in other things instead, but if you do then you may reap some benefits from it.
I have a Nintendo Switch, but I been thinking on selling it and getting the lite, I don’t use dock mode and usually don’t have friend’s over. Mainly I crave the feeling I had with my 3DS with how small and portable it was. There’s some say to just have both but I don’t see the point in that? I need opinions.
I just got a switch lite and at first i was kinda sad that i didn't get the normal one, but after spending some time i really liked the hand held experience of the lite. I also don't have friends coming over often so having a lite is okay to me. The only thing that I can comment on is the screen size, while playing games like Zelda I sometimes feel the need of a bigger screen but other than that I have no issues, lite model is also super light so i can play without sore wrists. Btw I also have a DS Lite, and I can say that the experience of playing with it feels quite close to me. So, if you don't use the dock and not have friends over I believe the Lite can be good option for you; maybe you can try it out somewhere to see how it feels in your hands. Sorry for the long reply, hope it helps!
Switch Lite is the first handheld console I've ever owned, I'm really happy with it. I wanted a lighter console as I have chronic pain and I can curl up with it comfortably in bed. The size and weight is perfect for me. I love how easily it is to travel with too, I can just pop it in my handbag. I'm thinking of buying an external controller for it though because I've had some difficulties platforming with it.
You should be able to carry handheld consoles loose in a bag compartment or even better in a jacket pocket. And I think switch lite is the only current handheld that allows for that
A couple more selling points ... The switch lite doesnt have the asemetric color design of the switch. You can get it in really pleasing colors without a high price point. And although it doesnt plug into the tv, this actually makes charging a bit easier.... Since i dont haveto dock it to charge, i cant literally go anywhere with it and use my phone cable to charge.
I play only portable and wanted not to have hand cramps while still having big enough screens. so when the dark blue switch lite came out at the exact day of my birthday, I knew this was the perfect match for me
As a Switch V2 and Lite owner, I am always in a dilemma. There is so much irony in Switch being a handheld portable gaming machine. We all know that Switch itself is a gaming console that, when it's docked, becomes similar to PS4 and XBOX1 but with the addition of undocking and being able to continue in handheld mode and play where ever you want. However, when Nintendo released the Switch Lite, it blew the Switch off when it comes to handheld mode. It is such a weird feeling that playing in handheld mode felt so much better on Lite when you know the Switch is also capable of doing that. I wish there is a sweet spot between Switch Lite and Switch. It would be awesome if they used the form factor of the Lite, but with removable joycon, and also made the bezel small and put it inside OLED screen.
Imo, it's the best option. I have all 3 models and if we are talking about portability, bang for buck, form factor and usability, it's the Lite for me. Imo, the Oled can sometimes add too much color and the draw distance isn't as good on it compared to the Lite. It also cramps my hands over extended play times. Most games that you want to play on an oled, you might as well play on an oled TV if you already have one. Imo, an oled switch lite would be the GOAT handheld
I've had a switch for a while and the sliding joycons are precisely why I don't enjoy it in handheld mode I've genuinely considered buying a light in addition to my switch purely for the handheld experience
when make cousin gave me his switch lite to play with ( he was playing smash bros with my brother on my switch ) i felt a cuteness and it was very comfortable
I wonder how Nintendo is going to progress from now on with the Switch family. I heard there was going to be a Pro version of the switch in 2024. I'm really excited!
It's less expensive to buy a Switch Lite and some Joy-Con's than it is to buy a normal Switch by about 40 USD. You can buy a decent game or MicroSD card for that price. Aside from that, I've had my Switch Lite since Christmas 2019. I haven't had to repair it once and it has never drifted. The only issue with it is that it doesn't have a very good battery life, however, that may be due to me often playing with it plugged in, which can happen to any device that utilizes charging. The Switch Lite is great.
The Switch Lite would be better if it had the option to charge wirelessly similarly to most recent smartphones. If they made another revision with it included, then that would be great to have! Also thank you for using the Nintendo of America version of the Switch Lite reveal trailer clip instead of the other one that everyone uses!
IMO it's a bad idea to buy a product which is guaranteed to get drift eventually and you can't just swap the joycons out. What are you going to do when it's out of warranty and it starts drifiting?
take it apart and replace it with a new joystick for like $5. you don't even need to solder. just unplug the old joystick and remove 2 screws and put in the new one
The amount of times I've had to repair my joycons because they would just fall off!! I don't take them off often now, maybe once a month. the lite is perfect fit for hands, I love my OLED but i love the light weight of the lite.
I like the video, but the music is a bit too loud compared to your audio
Appreciate the feedback!
I agree. I think this channel has potential though! Good luck on your audio mixing
I agree the music was a bit loud, good video though.

I’d like to see it modified to play on the TV
Right? I especially hate the wobbly joycons. They feel so fragile.

I may not daily drive a Lite, but my siblings does and its always good to have options like this for kids, casual gamers or just anyone who prefers something more portable.
I like the cute color options makes it more heartwarming when playing a game like resident evil or senran kagura.
I have a dark blue, my brother has a turquoise
Isn't it awesome, that Nintendo gives us all these different options to enjoy their games, why fight which shall be perfect for everybody and doom everything else. There is no such one solution for all, praise diversity for everbody's different purposes! Thx for the vid, man!
They better make the new Switch/next Ninitendo system fully backwards compatible, it would be a massive letdown if it isn't.
@@leecroft1983if it’s another kind of switch then it probably will be. Really hope so anyway!
That's garbage hardware with 60 dollar games
Calm down you corporate simp.
@@unsolomovimiento To you, of course.
Pretty much this. My OG switch never leaves the doc and is for multi-player games. Everything for me is on the Lite
Your videos are underrated like the nintendo switch lite
so real
personally i love using my switch lite more than my home switch. Just about every point you made are reasons why. I cant be bothered using my home switch portably unlike the lite
I just wanted switch lite with oled screen. I love the ergonomy on light, but I also love the colors on oled so combination would be a perfect fit for me.
I co sign this 👏🏽. I much prefer the Lite build, but I wish it had a OLED screen
Nah though I agree with you. Nintendo won’t mess up their lineup.
@@MetallicFear Indeed 😂 the only problem to NS Lite are the buttons is too fragile 😂 Games that required a lot of pressing will wear out the buttons 😂
Well I'm into turn based rpg that's why my NS Lite is happy with me 😂

for people on the go, switch lite makes sense. Its so lightweight and feels much much better on the hands as a portable system and its very compact.
I also don't need to buy any big bulky switch case etc. Switch lite + OLED screen would be really nice !
i like how only the black giy is using the black switch lite in the commercial
🤨
Picked up my first Swich last week, a used yellow Lite model. Love it!
If handheld gaming is your thing, definitely go for a Lite. I use it a lot more than my OG 2017 Switch.
I still think about getting it but I'm a bit worried about the drift. Some people said they got it after 3 days, some said they haven't ever got it
@@nykkoii Had my Lite since it launched and never got any issues... And if the sticks start to drift after three days, Nintendo has a 1 year warranty
@@Neongen Thank you for response, I'll probably start thinking even more about getting one soon
Good points. Also I've been using my Switch Lite for almost 4 years and oddly enough I haven't experienced stick drift yet.
The Switch Lite and New 2DS XL are two of Nintendo's nicest looking handhelds
thats exactly what i think
I think the Switch oled and DSi XL are the sleekest nintendo handhelds
if you've never bought any switch here is wtf you SHOULD DO......buy a lite sit back do your gaming on the couch while you wait for the next gen switch to come out then buy the next gen one
No tv support is enough for me to not get it. How we gonna play mario kart together? Its a no go for me
Got a lite this holiday and is a bliss. So light to hold and the buttons are actually more comfortable than the base model.
If you'd like to play on TV quite a bit then the normal version is good. If not consider the lite for a budget option or the oled
I got a Switch Lite for Christmas this year. I love it! I didn’t have a Switch and wanted to play Tears of the Kingdom, and it’s been the best handheld gaming experience I’ve ever had!!
This channel is underrated
I have a Switch and a Switch light but I use the light mostly. It’s weightless, and a beautiful coral pink.
On launch the PSVita came with
-Oled Screen(in 2012)
-960x544 resolution
-remote play with ps4/ps3 consoles
-music
-were able to play most of the previous psp titles along with new ones
-touch screen
-back touchpad
Edit: -they even offered 3G AT&T plans for having data on the go.
And more.
Honestly if the ps vita didn’t fail the way it did Sony would’ve had another PlayStation portable on their hands.
Really makes you wonder doesn’t it? We would’ve gotten something better than PlayStation Portal 😭
@@MetallicFear yeah man unfortunately we have to deal with this bull crap…
love the music and execution of this video
so happy to see this video!! i love my switch lite so much
The build quality of the regular switch is so bad imo, exactly as you say, it's such a bad feeling knowing you can rip the joycons off while holding it.
Is smash bros good on the lite
The "wiggle" part of the switch is def something that I've never gotten used to or liked, but a grip kind of fixes it.
Switch Lite Battery is known for going out after almost a year to two years of ownership! Oled owners seems to be handling just fine.
Having mine since july 2022.
no drift problems?
Show love to the humans making these consoles, and any consoles. They probably worked really hard to create genius consoles.
I have loved my Switch lite ever since I bought it. ❤
as someone who only plays docked, I see the classic switch as a win
3 Tips: For your Switch to not to have drift or It to be ruined.
1: Wash your hands and dry them.
2: Clean your Switch Once every week at least. ( Like Clean the screen- And the joysticks. And use the Right stuff. )
3: Don't press the buttons to hard.
*gets drift* switch oled/normal; buys new joycons switch lite: has to buy a whole new console
There’s no reason to buy a regular switch, only a 50$ for the massive oled upgrade is way to good.
No reason to buy a regular v2 switch but there is a reason to buy the original v1: modding.
Fr. I want a modded oled so bad
The switch light is a great little handheld. If they jammed in an oled panel and a better battery, it would be top tier for me.
Would be my dream form factor for the “switch 2 lite” or whatever it ends up being called
Oled panel, non-detachable controllers and the option to dock over USB C 🤩
Four pairs of joy-cons later due to drift, built in joy-cons: no thanks.
You can 100 percent buy a pro controller and use it on the switch lite. Ive done it
@@RevanPorkinsclean the sticks there shouldn’t be a problem I have no problem with mine

It’s underrated for the amount of stick drift you will get !!!! Definitely buy
I use mine a good bit and I haven’t got Stick Drift

the switch lite here goes for 120€ used in perfect conditions with box
so you have no warranty. why not buy a new one which is not much more.
I really wanna buy a switch lite to simply wait for a simple hack to come out for it, because it would be a KILLER handheld if you put CFW on it
Thats exactly why I have switch lite and I never updated it.
If the switch lite had an OLED version, that would probably be my favorite switch
Great video! However, the music is too loud and it makes it difficult to hear your voice.
Nothing beats a pro con a big tv and a couch
I had a switch but it broke so I got a switch lite and I find it better since it feels nicer to hold and for some reasons it feels softer
I love my switch lite so much.
The Switch Lite weighs less than the New 3DS XL! That's hilarious to me. Thanks for the video!
Switch lite's screen sharpness is better imo than the big switch, due to it being smaller. And it fits in my pocket.
I love and keep my Nintendo Switch Lite forever, even for playing real 70s, 80, and 90s arcade games I love.
Me watching this on my switch lite:
I like how you made the music twice as loud as your voice so I have to try and pick out what you're saying the whole time
I might of got a switch lite but I have a family and it would be way to hard playing Mario Kart on that tiny screen with 4 players
when make cousin gave me his switch lite to play with ( he was playing smash bros with my brother on my switch )
i felt a cuteness and it was very comfortable
I wonder how Nintendo is going to progress from now on with the Switch family. I heard there was going to be a Pro version of the switch in 2024. I'm really excited!
Those people playing in the sun is false advertisement, you have to be in the right lighting to be able to see anything, still the best though
A wireless charging cradle of sort. That would’ve been sick.
@@MetallicFear Something the 3DS had with these gold-plated prongs, but with magnets so that it’ll function well as another charging alternative! 😄
i love my lite and never needed to dock my switch because for me a day off means i don't wear my contacts/glasses
It's an absolutely beautiful device and is of high quality...🤘🏼💯✔️
IMO it's a bad idea to buy a product which is guaranteed to get drift eventually and you can't just swap the joycons out. What are you going to do when it's out of warranty and it starts drifiting?
its a 12 to 15 minute process to switch out to hall effect sensors. they cost around 25 dollars for 2 hall effect joysticks. not bad.
take it apart and replace it with a new joystick for like $5. you don't even need to solder. just unplug the old joystick and remove 2 screws and put in the new one
depends on how heavily you use it. My 3DS and ps vita still run fine. Heck.. my N64 controllers still run fine as well.
The amount of times I've had to repair my joycons because they would just fall off!! I don't take them off often now, maybe once a month. the lite is perfect fit for hands, I love my OLED but i love the light weight of the lite.
