O....k? It's still an amazing console regardless, and yes, I'm willing to pay for a cheaper version of the switch if it means I'm still getting the same quality in terms of software or games or whatever next to the switch.

i love my switch lite!! obviously it’s much cheaper but the feel of it is super nice too. i only really see myself playing handheld games on it so not being able to connect to the tv really isn’t a problem, and it really doesn’t lack that many games in my opinion. i just really love its vibe

and it doesnt have hd rumble. which isnt really much of a problem but it just feels super weird playing without it.
overall, i guess the switch lite is a good idea for dedicated handheld players (especially people who like to play alone)

I think theres a lot of stuff in the switch that hasn't been used yet, for example : the led ring, which is used to get notify if you get an invitation, etc. Which now the led ring is useful now

Nintendo: "Well yes, but actually no."
They can say what they want but it basically is. When the Switch Lite was announced, the New 3DS XL was discontinued leaving only the 2DS and New 2DS XL(ironic that the only 3DS models sold now don't have 3D). They also announced that no more first party games are being made for the 3DS.

Nintendo: "Well no, but actually yes."
I mean, Nintendo haven't said that no more first-party games are being made, they only announced that Nintendo has nothing 3DS-related to announce at this point (and that was back in April at their investor's meeting) and altough it's pretty unlikely that anything is being made for the 3DS at this point, their statement doesn't completely deconfirm the possibility.
Another thing to consider is that when Nintendo shifted from the Game Boy Advance to the Nintendo DS, they basically went from 3 co-existing systems (GBA, DS, NGC) down to 2 (technically 4 to 2 if you consider the fact that they were already making games for the then-upcoming Wii by this point). Now if they kill the 3DS, they're going from 2 systems down to 1. Which by itself isn't necessarily a bad move, but since Nintendo's other ventures (eg. Amiibo, mobile games, theme parks) don't make them nearly as much money as a new console would, it makes them over-reliant on that one system they care about. And if we look at sales of Nintendo's past platforms (especially their home consoles), it's been a rollercoaster ride for sure with multiple ones being considered big failures for the company. What I'm getting at is, if they launch a "Switch 2" with major flaws and it's going to perform like the Wii U did sales-wise, they're screwed.
I really hope they're aware of this, and that they're currently working a new clever alternative that can legitimately co-exist with both the current Switch as well as with the Switch's main successor. It would also be a nice way to keep Nintendo in the spotlight while the upcoming PS5 and Xbox Scarlett systems are starting the next console generation and also while the Switch is older and older and thus more and more irrelevant. With the statement they made last year in June when they've said that they're considering multiple possibilties to succeed the 3DS (Keyword: Multiple!) and now they're coming through with another saying that the Switch Lite will still not replace the 3DS, I'm sure they're playing smartly and it's only a matter of time until we see another console that's not a Switch-variant!
@@TwilightRealm723 you're ignoring mobile, the mobile line is their secondary source of revenue, it and the Switch Lite are what's replacing the 3DS. Just accept it fanboy, because that's what's happening whether you like it or not

The switch lite would be brilliant as a handheld only but the biggest draw back is the joycon drift because once that happens you have to buy new controllers and basically just use it on table top mode

I may not live on the boulders but I do got a switch lite for Christmas today so even though it’s smaller and the batteries is a bit worse, it costs less, it’s easier to set up and it’s compatible with every switch game. It’s cool for me to have a switch on my own

tbh, I'm absolutely loving the Swith lite, despite everyone telling me to just get the actual switch (I don't play on the TV nor table mode, even on my uncle's switch, so why would I waste about 200€ more for functions I don't use and I didn't like the motion controls for BotW, because it was kinda awkward doing them in handheld plus it's smaller size makes it easy for me to take it out of the house without anyone noticing it's disappearance)

You can play on the tv, it comes with two detachable joycons, it has more battery life than the switch lite and it’s basically the switch lite but with all of the above

for me the tv is only good for playing with your friends because the the resolution makes it look pretty bad on a 4k tv and also it's nicer than the regular switch to hold on handheld mode.

As a switch lite user, I can relate within my experience. I wasn't really prepared when i brought some joy cons and i didn't have a charging grip.

I love my switch lite. I always loved the idea of such a powerful handheld and I don't regret buying it one bit. I never really got why I would want to play this on a TV. The whole point that made the original switch so awesome in my eyes is the fact that it's basically a handheld.
Exactly and as a handheld the switch lite is much better in my opinion. It's very handy compared to the normal switch.
