I remember as a kid all I wanted on my own was lots of money to play, buy and enjoy games. Now I am adult with kids and wife and working 50 hr or more weeks. I have the money just not the time. At least I can provide a nice living for my family and they share my love video games too just not as much as I use to. Still nice to have kids to relive your children memories.
Man, I finally have an stable job, and free time... But Im about to marry next year. Ive always been a fan of Videogames, specially Nintendo games, so I said F+$k it, bougt a Switch Oled of Zelda TOTK, with 8 games(Oddysey, Mario Kart 8, Smash, Party Superstars, Splatoon 3, Mario + Rabbids 2, Luigis Mansion and of course... Zelda TOTK). I never had money before to buy a console, and afterwards I had the money but not the time, now, I finally can.. Im taking the chance, I love the lady im marrying with, but, the privacy and time will not be the same after I joint her. Im almost 34 years old, and Im expecting to the package to arrive since yesterday, and Im feeling excited like a child, its almost embarrasing I must say. But I feel joy, something slipery in my life as an adult; please, I tell you this, with my best wishes for you: now you have a family, and kids to share your passion for gaming, take advantage of that, life its definitely too short, I would like to have had a father to play videogames with, please be happy.
I always dreamed of gaming growing up In Nepal. I spent my college fee to buy a PSP. Now it's with my nephew. I have to lie to my parents many times to pay back that semester fee. 1$ USD -- 125 Nepalese rs so it was way too expensive for me. I migrated to Australia late 2019, I have bought a PS4, Xbox then pS5 and switch I bought many games. At least i played the main story. The best games for me are Forza 4, Mario Odyssey, Zelda breath of wild(Zelda however I couldn't finish it- too tough for me), Spiderman1-2, the last of us, God of war, RDR, RDR2, the witcher. I am so happy and content that I got to play all these games. Now with no kid and no plan to have one ever. My target is to play at least 10-15 new games a year. I buy physical and I trade all the games after I complete. I am playing astro bot on ps5, it's on par with the Mario level.
Same here friend 😢. I have to force myself to sit down and play with my game systems and just forget about all problems and worries for that time. It's something magical though when u do
Geez dude. Literally all of your videos lately feel like an experience. I have a lot of TH-camrs I follow, but rarely do I become as excited when they upload as when you do. Do NOT stop these please.
I don't plan on stopping. I'm trying to come up with a way to make them faster. It seems like it's taking me longer get these videos out. I'm glad you like them. They take quite a bit of work to put together. It makes it worth it to know there are people who enjoy them
@@nanite97 bro I read your comment after reading the original comment and subscribed too, barely watched 5 seconds of the video. definitely felt a vibe of truth
As a lifetime Nintendo gamer, this video made my heart burst. I could feel your love for these games and your production value is top notch! In your large stack of unplayed games, I hope you give Hollow Knight a try. As a lover of all things 2D, this game is everything; Metroidvania at its finest!
I'm so happy to hear that you enjoyed this video. It's always tough putting something out there that you really care about because you know there are going to be people who don't agree with you. I really appreciate your comment and very kind words. I've heard from so many people that Hollow Knight is amazing. I really need to get around to playing it. I might also have the digital version as well. I think it's time to give it a go.
I'm glad you like that part of the video. I try to make most of my videos in a similar format because I listen to videos quite often. Thank you for watching, or listening.
The thing about Mario 64 was playing it in 1999. It broke my mind how good it was. The camera is now horrendous, but back in the last millennium it was so much better than any 3D platformer. The main competition was Crash Bandicoot which is 2D pretending to be 3D.
I feel the same way with you with Mario Odyssey. I couldn't get into the 3d games but Odyssey was just special! New Donk City is one of the most exciting and best Mario experience I've ever had.
Odyssey is so amazing I am enthusiasticly excited for the next 3D release. As much as I want it I hope it launches with the next Nintendo console and ready wows us all over again
Dude. I just found your videos and wow. The love your are able to communicate for these games makes it really emotional to watch. The simplicity of your language hits, almost like a poem. Keep it up mate!
Thank you so much! I'm glad you like the direction I went with it. I too think it's more important to find out why these games are included in videos like this rather than adding more to the list. It makes it more personal
Very nice video. I love the fact that you emphasize how your personal preferences are tied to your personal experience with each one of these games, how your experience with the titles, as a child, resonates today.
I'm glad you noticed that in the writing. I tried to show how far back each of these gaming franchises go. They were good back then, and they are still great now. Even if the game play and style has changed. Thank you for much for watching and leaving such a good comment!
I can't believe you haven't gotten more attention yet Neander. There are so many subpar Nintendo content creators, but your videos are truly something special. It's safe to say that you never miss.
That’s so awesome to hear! If you do, Link’s Awakening would be at the top of my list of recommendations. Such a good game. Send me an update is you ever get one and play it.
Love this dude! I really hope you can leverage your unanimously praised youtube vids into a career in the industry. You have undeniable tallent and absolutely deserve it!
Thank you so much! It would be great if this turned into something bigger. I might have to dedicate a little more time into them so I can release videos more often. I really appreciate you watching and leaving this awesome comment!
New to the channel, the way you film footage and actual games and consoles is really cool and it’s something no one else does. You give atmosphere and depth to the things you’re talking about because of the way you film the content it’s compelling to keep watching
Thank you so much for watching! I really like filming these video and they take quite a while to put together. I'm glad you noticed those little things I do with the camera movements and focus depth to compliment what I'm talking about. It's good to know they aren't going unnoticed.
Broooo the algorithm has blessed me with your video! I couldn’t agree more with this list 1:1 these games are my top 5 switch games. I skipped out on DK Tropical Freeze for Wii U even though I heard nice things about it. I finally took the chance and grabbed it for Switch. Im so glad I did. The ambience, the music, the level design! *Chefs kiss* Awesome video 👍
I'm so glad you clicked on the video! Thank you for watching it. That's so cool you agree on all the games I picked. DKC Tropical Freeze is one of my all time favorite games. I go about to it all the time because it just so good!
I don’t usually give a like on TH-cam videos, but this one deserved it. Production, explanation, game recommendations, it was all amazing. Look forward to seeing more from this channel
Thank you so much for watching, liking, and subbing! I'm glad you liked the video. These take a while to put together. Reading comments like this make it worth it
I've been watching switch videos for a few hours today, i bought one a couple of months ago, and I have been looking to add to my collection. There are lots of really good informative videos out there. Yours was a masterpiece though, best I've seen. Well done, man.
You might be the only person who actually list games that deserve the spot in the top list. Many do this type of videos to sell games but this list feels very genuine. Specially when you showed your collection with lots of games in plastic. I'm exactly the same. I have maybe 40+ games but have only played a handful of games mainly due to time restrictions. But i just want them :) So far i beat Mario odyssey, Zelda botw and some more. Next in the list is Metroid Dread and the new Zelda Tear .... You got a new subscriber.
Thank you so much for subscribing! I'm glad you liked the video. I don't have any affiliate links. I just wanted to make a video about a few games I really like playing. I have many games still in their plastic wrap. I don't think I'll ever get to a good amount of them. Maybe one day. Let me know what you think about Dread. I've went ahead a replayed it after making this video. It's really really good! Maybe my top Metroid game. I'm still in the process of playing Tears of the Kingdom. I didn't put it in this video because I haven't finished it yet.
Fantastic video again! I'm with you that the graphics are astounding in Link's Awakening remake. In my personal opinion easily some of the best visual design in any 3D game alongside Wind Waker and Color Splash (+ Origami King later). 😊🎨 It's so great that Nintendo plays around with quite daring different graphic styles for a lot of their games (Toon Zelda, watercolor Zelda, diorama Zelda, yarn Kirby, clay Kirby, yarn Yoshi, paper Mario, hand drawn with Wario Land Shake it, "Home made B-games" with Wario Ware etc). Hopefully the trend will continue.
I'm so glad there are others that like the art style of the Link's Awakening remake. When I play it I'm always taken back by how good it looks. Easily one of the best looking games on the Switch. It's so cool that Nintendo is so willing to take those chances with their bigger franchises. The new 2D Mario game looks like it's getting a new art style as well.
@@NeanderMeander ive been playing it recently and having a blast! i also love the graphics and the game is making me look forward to the mario rpg remake coming out soon (I dont usually splurge on new games but I might have to).
maaan got my first nintendo console since the snes earlier this month, and immediately secured mario odyssey, botw, totk and tropical freeze even before i stumbled upon your video, obviously you have a great taste in gaming. :)
The quality of each of his videos and commentaries are amazing. Really hope he gains tons of more subscribers becuase it’s definitely deserved. Keep up the great work man can’t wait for the next video! ❤️🎮
@@NeanderMeander Ofc i buy slptooon Nintendo cuz look awsome and i buy only 3 games Super mario odyssey & prince of persia&mario cart . After i finish from this game am gone for zelda and also maybe luagi or mario 3d
Mate great video. I got into switch gaming this year after years of not playing games and my favorite games on gameboy were zelda, Warioland 3, donkey Kong and metroid! I’m so glad they are all on switch! Time to relive some memories!
Wow! what a video, i have only ever played mario games from nintendo but you got me interested for Zelda, Metroid and Donkey kong for the first time in my life.🙌
Whoa, this was an amazing comment to read! I'm so glad you watched this video and liked it. I hope you start playing Zelda, Metroid, and Donkey Kong games. They are all fantastic! If you do, let me know what you think of them.
What a beautiful tribute to the switch and all the amazing games you can't live without. Our list would be a little different but Donkey Kong tropical freeze is certainly a favorite for me and after seeing some of the gameplay from the games you include it, I might be persuaded to want to try a few.
That's so awesome that you like DKC Tropical Freeze! It's one of my all time favorites. What would be on your list? Maybe you should make a video about it. I think that would be really fun to watch!
@@NeanderMeander See the thing is if I made a list it would likely be games that are on other consoles that I played on the switch. They wouldn't be switch exclusives. I loved, loved, loved Bloodstained ritual of the night but I know it's also on PS4 and arguably. It plays better there but I played it on the switch. It would be a lot of stuff like that 😂
@@RetroRivals I see what you're saying and that would make it a little awkward. Though, maybe you could do a video about what games are your absolute favorites no matter what console they play on. I just like seeing what games people like. It gives me great recommendations.
I just ran across your video and really learned a lot. I am 66 and started out with Pong, then Atari, NES, N64 and PS2. I’m ready to start gaming again and I think the Switch is what I’m going to purchase. Thanks for the info. CIAO!!
Wow! You've had some seriously great consoles. What games have been your favorite on them? Thank you for watching this video and for leaving this comment. I'm glad you were able to find my channel.
You are challenging my memory. Space Invaders, Asteroids, Legend of Zelda, Mario Bros, Sly Cooper, and a fun almost 3d version of Pac-Man on PS2. Those are the ones I remember most. Thanks for asking. CIAO!!
As I man who grew with retro game console, Buying and colleting physical gamecard/cartridge is really satisfying. I don't play PC or mobile phone game. I think the feeling when playing on game console with gamecard is different with the game downloaded. People now who play mobile phone game or pc game don't know the feel that I feel. It's not only about playing. But it also brings back the old memory when playing with together with friends in the same place. Going to gamecafe to rent only to play Nintendo and Playstation (1).
Thank you very much for the new video. Your filming and editing are always on point. I don't really play the games you play but I still enjoy watching your videos because of how well they are created. Well done.
@@NeanderMeander The Switch games I play are comprised mostly of Pokémon and other indie titles. Eastward has been one of my favorite titles on the Switch so far. I also wanted to add that I appreciate the personal stories you add when you talk about each game.
Same story as me bro , I'm 33 had sony my whole life even now but I just bought a switch for my daughter so we can enjoy the nintendo library finally ❤
Love this! Here's my list of 6 essentials. I decided to include non-exclusives that I chose to experience on Switch in the mix. Celeste: A poignant story about a young woman with anxiety climbing a mountain in Canada, this game combines gorgeous pixel art, one of the best soundtracks on the system, and insanely difficult platforming challenges. Spread across 8 chapters plus a free DLC ninth chapter, it repeatedly pushed the boundaries of what I thought was possible for me to complete. Late-game levels seemed entirely out of reach the first dozen times I tried them. But then I beat them. Link's Awakening: I first played Link's Awakening DX on my Game Boy Advance SP while hospitalized for a difficult medical experience. Although I enjoyed the game, I've always associated it with this difficult, unfortunate moment in my life. So when Nintendo remade it, I jumped on the opportunity to try it again. It quickly became my favorite Zelda on the system. As much as a I loved Breath of the Wild, something about jumping back into the top-down world of tightly arranged little puzzles in a plastic toybox world just blew me away. The attention to detail with every shifted element, every remade song, and every kooky reference to Mario and Kirby is stunning. There are more collectibles, the button layout works better, and the game just feels like it's found a perfect home all these years later. (Now remake the Oracle games, you cowards!) Kirby and the Forgotten Land: Kirby may have waited 30 years to go "true" 3D, but the result is a charming adventure platformer collectathon with excellent presentation, music, and level design. The first few days I spent as Kirby exploring abandoned malls and theme parks rank among my favorite Switch moments. Saving a billion waddle dees adds some much-needed replay value, and the game even has compelling combat and a dodge roll! Metroid Dread: This game also came at a difficult time in my life, but it was the one part of the month of October 2021 I could count on to bring me joy. As a huge Metroid Fusion fan, the prospect of picking the story back up right where they left off 20 years prior felt actually asinine, but it was a decision that rewarded long-time fans like me. Everything about this game (with the possible exception of a mostly-good-not-amazing soundtrack) blew me away. From the first Kraid rematch to the challenging final boss, it felt like Metroid had finally perfected combat alongside exploration. Tears of the Kingdom: Tears of the Kingdom somehow took everything I loved about Breath of the Wild and made it better while also taking the vast majority of what I disliked about Breath of the Wild and making that better too. I hesitate even writing about it yet because I've put 95 hours into the game and still feel like I've accomplished nothing. I've done 2 of the game's 5 central "temples," maybe half of the shrines, and 20 or so labeled side quests. And I've wasted countless hours going on fetch quests for resources to upgrade armor or spelunking. The game is just baffling in scale and scope. I can barely comprehend the immensity of the world, let alone figure out how to figure out what "completion" of the game looks like to me. Hollow Knight: What can I say about my favorite game of all time? That it's everything I've wanted a game to be aesthetically and in terms of gameplay? That it perfectly melds understated storytelling and themes with combat and exploration? That it's the only single-player game I've ever put more than 500 hours into? That during COVID, I spent hundreds of hours on the postgame boss rush alone because the combat is that compelling? The Legend of Zelda: the Wind Waker was my favorite game of all time from the moment I first played it in 2003 until the moment I sunk my teeth into Hollow Knight in 2019. And although Wind Waker will always be my childhood game, it's now my second favorite.
A solid lineup all around; I love all these games and would say they make for a fantastic single player and multiplayer experience. Since it came out I'd throw in Mario Wonder and Pikmin 4 but other than that I think its golden
The video quality is looking amazing! Your Switch collection is unbelievable! Top quality picks for super awesome games. Out of the main games you covered I only own Links awakening. I really need to pick the rest of the games up! Switch game prices need to drop! I want those deals! Love the topic, it's always cool to see what games people gravitate towards!
It's so good to see a comment from you! I've been using the FX30 for the past few videos. The results are really great. That camera just makes pleasing videos. Those weren't all my games in this video believe it or not. I have even more tucked away in other corners of my house. I didn't have the energy to get my special editions out. I also have quite a few doubles I wasn't aware of. Maybe one day I'll get them all in one location. I'd love to see your game collections. It's fun to see what other people are into. Thanks for watching!
As a mid age PC gamer I decided to get a Switch. I was amazed by this totally different gaming world and I just cannot explain other gamers why it's so good compared to anything else. From now on, I will just send THIS video. Mate, I always avoided Odyssey, I almost feel exactly the same as you with the 3D representation of Mario... but now.. thank you for sharing your feelings and experience, I'm so hyped to try it out! Soon I will get my hands on Wonder, but Odyssey will be the next :)
The sand world gives me some sort of like nostalgia to when me and my brother would go into this game stop at the mall and play the demo of mario odyssey that only allowed you to play the sand world and we would go in there and replay it over and over every time our mom took us to the mall
Small (and probably last) 2DS update in my 2023 journey: I have completed almost every game I ever wanted to play on this console. A couple of ones are still pending: -Luigi's Mansion 1/2, which I am reserving for October as part of the Halloween theme -Animal Crossing, which I am reserving as my last 2DS game Currently I am playing Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga, and will play Bowser's Story after that. Loving the game so far. On the side I have a ton of DS games I will play, like the Castlevania Order of Ecclesia, the Kirby games and The World ends with You. I wish the Switch were a special console to me as well, but I can't justify giving money to Nintendo in its current state towards consumers and with the existence of (imo) a superior competitor such as the Steam Deck. This was it for my updates, thank you for talking so much about the consoles and thank you for the awesome content. Keep it up!
You’ve been able to play through some really good games! I need to play the Luigi’s Mansion games . I’ve heard they’re really good! The DS had so many good games! I have a huge backlog I need to tackle as well. Thank you for the updates. Inthink it’s awesome you’ve been able to dive into the 3DS game library.
Awesome video once again Neander...very soothing and relaxing video style with great content and information...I rarely stick around for lengthy videos but this one didn't even feel like a 20+ minute video...also the few games I have for my oled switch are all on this list...I salute you bossman, please keep entertaining us with your awesome content...God bless 🙏
Nice filming style! (Sorry im not native English) great music! Very calming and pleasant to watch! In a landscape where everything needs to be over the top.. this is a welcome change.
Neander, you write as if you are about the enter the door of death. And the music selection and visual story telling speak to this motif. Are you feeling okay? Praying for you man. God bless.
I appreciate your concern. Things are great! Actually life is going very well for me right now. I write like I do and choose my music to make my videos stand apart. I’ve tried to do that since my first upload. It takes me quite a while to find the perfect song to for what I’m talking about. Sometimes it’s upbeat. Other times it’s somber. It all depends on what flows in the edit. It’s good to know there are people out there concerned about my well being. Rest assured, things are great.
@@NeanderMeander I’m very aware. I do reviews myself and they take about 8-10hrs each. Gotta give respect where it’s due! You nailed it with this and I Subscribed because of it. Well done my friend!
@@clintmallon Nice! I'll have to give them a watch. I don't think the vast majority of people who watch TH-cam videos really know how much work they take to put together. There are so many things that have to be done.
@@clintmallon I just watched one of your reviews. Wow! It was very well put together and constructed. You know the product really well and have conveyed why it’s worth buying. I’m seriously going to buy the DPOB X because of it. Really good work
link’s awakening really gives a nostalgic feel when I played it. the soundtrack was on point and non repetitive. the character gives subtle clue to plot, and it gives a really decent mix of battle mechanics and good storytelling. it didn’t make you feel like you’re playing a dungeon game, it just unfold story after story. the next thing you know, it’s near the ending already. the only downside is pricing, it should be priced at 40% of zelda botw pricing, and I’m lucky enough to buy it secondhanded at that price 😊
I agree with everything you've said here. I think it picked up a second copy on sale for around $30 or something like that around the holidays. It was a steal at that price!
I enjoy BOTW. Great game with lots of surprises, mystery, and challeges, second only to getting outside and enjoying such activites as fishing, hicking, excersising, or just hanging with friends.
Another Upload from one of my favorite TH-camr...nice, weekend saved....but there's one thing i don't understand: why the heck you don't have 100k+ subscribers. Every second of this vid is pure gold.... keep up your awesome work 🎉
Brilliant video, nice work! I'm looking at getting my first Switch, the Oled version to play docked and hand-held. I've just added all of these games to my must buy list 😁 Thanks!
I’m a huge Mario fan and my guilty secret is that I have yet to play either Galaxy games or Sunshine at all. That being said, don’t beat yourself up over not playing SM64. Don’t get me wrong-I 100% urge you to do so and complete it. But I often think how lucky I am to have gotten used to its controls as a kid rather than as an adult. I definitely can see how it’d be hard to get used to if I were to play it first nowadays. Regardless though, it is oh so worth it. I’m currently trying to get back into the DS version. But that too has proved very hard haha
I just got Metroid Dread several months ago, bit I beat it on normal, and now I'm close to the wnd of it on hard mode...love it. It is the best Metroid platformer, so far...
Great list! Link's Awakening took me by surprise. I never played the original, hadn't played any Zelda games except BOTW, and kinda passed it off as being a bit "childish" for my tastes, but that was a mistake! Eventually got around to playing it and it's an absolute masterpiece, and one of the few games that I would basically consider to be perfect (I have since played the original and I hold the same opinion for that one as well). It's definitely one of my "comfort food" games.
Great video. I think it is a gift, when you make me feel even more joy over the games I own, than I allready did. Love your work man. Soothing, entertaining and eye candy. Thanks Bro. Kind regards from the Netherlands
@@NeanderMeander Of the one you talked about; I own: * Zelda - Breath of the Wild * Mario Odyssee * Metroid Prime And recently I acquired: * Zelds - Tears of the Kingdom * 13 sentinels Aegis Rim * Nier Automata Thank you for your reply and video. Keep up the great work.
I did play Breath of the Wild. After owning the copy since 2020, we {my better half and 3 year old daughter} have played it during the winter months of this year. Almost completed it, and finished the story. The video you've made about BotW in real life really resonated with me. That is the beauty that the game is. To be honest, I think BotW is better than TotK. I think because the former game had the biggest wow factor. But it is my favorite game by far.@@NeanderMeander
I myself sold a LOT of my collection after I moved into my current place, I just wasn't playing them. Mario 64 is a great game, totally understand your control mishaps, as back when I bought the N64 and Gamecube so I was able to experience the aforementioned Mario games, and for Breath of the Wild, that was a revolution in how Nintendo did open world games, as always, this is masterful in every sense. This is inspiring me to step up my game in my reviews. "As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend." Or something like that. My best to you and always. 🖖🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈🎮😊Marcus
How are you Marcus? Thank you so much for watching and leaving such thoughtful comments. I'm so glad you're around and so supportive. I hope you're doing well.
The thing i related to most in this video was just the fact that Botw is on your list, but Totk isnt. Obviously you didn't go into your thoughts about Totk, but just the omission alone says a lot, and i fully agree.
I absolutely love BOTW! I've played through it 3 times. I could start all over today and enjoy every second of it. TOTK is also a great game, but I haven't played through it once yet. I'm still a ways out from beating it. It hasn't hooked me like BOTW has. I definitely prefer BOTW.
@@NeanderMeander I agree! The way you talked about Tropical Freeze is exactly how i feel about Botw. I waited for 5 years for that game, and I expected it to be amazing, and it somehow lived up to my expectations and exceeded them.
I also never played Mario 64 and want to to this day. I loved sunshine but I never finished it as a teen. Would love to go back and compete one day. I found it to be a very challenging Mario game.
Great video as always man and pretty solid list. It’d be really hard for me to put together a top 5 for the switch. I honestly feel like I got my most memorable experiences from indie games. 1. Hollow Knight 2. Celeste 3. Enter the Gungeon 4. Hyper Light Drifter 5. A Short Hike But when it came to Nintendo I’d have to say 1. Tears of the Kingdom 2. Metroid Dread 3. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe 4. Smash Bros Ultimate 5. Animal Crossing: New Horizons The other ports were really good too but if I could only choose 10 games to keep for the switch I’d be fine with keeping Tropical Freeze, 3D World, and Pikmin 3 on the Wii U.
Indie games are so good! They are filling the gaps where these big companies are overlooking. All the games you listed are great! Except I haven't even heard of A Short Hike. I'm going to have to look into it. All the games you listed for the Switch are awesome. I haven't gotten into Animal Crossing though. I've heard so many good things about it.
Throughout all my childhood I have never been encountered one single original nintendo title. I had no idea my favorite game character mario was a nintendo title. We've been playing those games via 3rd party chinese made consoles with 1000 in 1 cartridges. We had no idea How games were made and delivered to us. I don't know exactly when I realized the real world of games. But I'm sure I wasn't even near to be a child anymore. All I know is that made me feel stupid and unlucky like I've been left outside of this world. I mean dealing with stuff unconsciously. I would have loved if I could touch early original games and consoles in my childhood. That's why I'm always in orbit of any content related with Nintendo brand. It's like my childhood cut in half. I can't get over this obsession. I can't keep them but I'm buying every product that says nintendo on it.
Amazing video! I really love your style of commentary, editing and music. I recently got a new oled switch and was looking for what games to buy. I have been a playstation gamer all my life but recently decided to get a gaming pc and switch to try the exclusives gems there. I already bought 3 of the 5 games u mentioned when I got my switch and I admit I decided to avoid metroid dread because I have heard how difficult it can get. I have been a trophy hunter for a decade but recently stopped it and don't want to stress over games so I'll skip droid but man that donkey kong tropical freeze game seems like a dream come true type of game for sure. Most lists and videos I saw mentioned the other games but you are the first one who I saw mention it and I like the game so much from your brief clips so I'll definitely buy it soon. Thank you for the great video and recommendation! Hope your channel blows up and you get the attention you deserve. I can tell the effort you put in, it's sad some low effort youtubers get way more views than you but I believe with your continuous hard work you will definitely get there amongst the big boys! I wish you the best I am truly impressed!
Thank you so much for watching this video! That's cool you've decided to branch out from PlayStation. I did the same thing years ago. I now play all the consoles. I guess it's a blessing and a curse because I like them all and they cost lots of money. I think I'll probably go to the PC next generation for Xbox and PlayStation games. That seems to be the most cost effective method. The Metroid series was really difficult for me to get into. I had heard about it way back when I was very young. I gave the original a try, but it just wasn't a game I thought was fun. I couldn't figure anything out. I then got Metroid 2 for my Game Boy. The same thing happened with it. I skipped Super Metroid, Zero Mission, Fusion, and all the Prime games. I bought Samus Returns on the 3DS, which is a re-imagining of Metroid 2, on launch day. Again, I could not get into it. But, when Dread was announced I decided to give these games a serious try. I went back to Samus Returns because I was traveling a lot during that time and I always had my 3DS with me. This time the game just clicked with me and I fell in love with it! I ended up playing through Zero Mission, Super Metroid, Fusion, and then Dread once it released. Metroid has become one of my favorite gaming franchises in existence! They are difficult games, but not unfair. They always give you what you need to get through it. They are games you need to practice to get good at playing. I also played Metroid Prime Remastered and that was also amazing! I can't recommend Dread enough. I think it's kind of disappeared recently, which is a shame. It definitely deserves to be played. Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze is one of my favorite games ever. Definitely top 5 of all time. I couldn't wait for it to come out of the Wii U. Once it did, it was unbelievable great! I always wanted a portable version of it. I'm glad Nintendo released on the Switch. I've been able to play it way more now that it's on there. I would recommend it over almost every other game. I hope you end up getting it. If you do, give me an update on what you think about it. Thanks again for watching the video! I'm really glad you liked it. I'm filming another one right now.
The games ill die without on my switch are smash ultimate, mario kart 8, mario wonder, mario 3d allstars, and luigi's mansion [wouldve been mc but i play that on pc
@@NeanderMeander i actually havent beat luigi's mansion, but it is really fun, and i have over a thousand hours in smash so i may have an addiction, but smash is most fun when you got a group to play it with, so if you wanna play smash get a few friends and just mess around
I agree with all of it! (For the most part...) I haven't played Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze or Metroid Dread so I cannot speak for them, but all of the other ones are great! My favorite is probably BOTW, but Links Awakening holds a close second. Excellent video as always!
Thank you for watching it! The Switch has so many good Zelda games. As for Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze and Metroid Dread, those are the two games I didn't want to put down the most when I was capturing footage. Metroid in particular. I forget how great that game really is. It definitely should be talked about more.
This is my first video watching you, and wow you make great quality videos :) Keep going and i’m sure you will get all the love you deserve on the channel, you got yourself another sub!
Metroid is my favorite franchise of all. I play Zero mission over and over again. I picked up Dread and it is a TOUGH game to play. I never used the counter before and it is hard to time. I am stuck on it but want to finish it.
Dread is so good! The melee counter is tough to get used to. But, when you do get it down, it is awesome! Let me know what you think of it when you get further along
I think if I had to pick 5 switch games I absolutely could not live without I would pick: Smash ultimate Tears of the kingdom Super mario odyssey Mario kart 8 deluxe Xenoblade 3 (This is only first party Nintendo games) Fantastic video btw super high quality editing and production
Nice picks! I need to finish Tears of the Kingdom. I've been stretching my play through out because I don't want it to end. Thank you so much for watching!
Play super mario 64 on the Nintendo DS the controls are so much easier to control. Nothing beats odyssey though that was one of the most enjoyable and fun games I've ever played! It's so seamless and fun!
The games I play most on my Switch are Monster Hunter Rise, Astral Chain, LUMINES REMASTERED, DOOM 64, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, Metroid Dread, Mario Odyssey, and Kirby and the Forgotten Land.
Dude stop making excuses. 47 and I make time to play Nintendo with my 10 yo. It’s a choice you are making
It's something magical though when u do
@@franciscolobo8919 bro it will never be embarrassing to be excited about your dream coming true :)

Do NOT stop these please.

@@NeanderMeander I agree with the original content, but the video part of, well, the video. Is done amazingly!
The thing about Mario 64 was playing it in 1999. It broke my mind how good it was. The camera is now horrendous, but back in the last millennium it was so much better than any 3D platformer. The main competition was Crash Bandicoot which is 2D pretending to be 3D.
I can understand that. I was one of the kids who were play Crash Bandicoot because I had a PlayStation. I'll give Mario 64 another try.
@@NeanderMeander if you have the option I find the N64 emulator has a slightly better camera than the 3D all stars 😉
I feel the same way with you with Mario Odyssey. I couldn't get into the 3d games but Odyssey was just special! New Donk City is one of the most exciting and best Mario experience I've ever had.
It's so good! I was blown away with how good Odyssey is.
Same! One of my favorite out of all Mario games
@@mcalannSame here!

Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching
Dude. I just found your videos and wow. The love your are able to communicate for these games makes it really emotional to watch. The simplicity of your language hits, almost like a poem. Keep it up mate!
Wow! Thank you so much for this comment! I'm so glad you liked this video. It's so good to read comments like this. Thank you again.
Great video. Love your passion and that you don’t just rush through 20 games. The story so much more important than speaking to 3 times as many games.

I've been watching switch videos for a few hours today, i bought one a couple of months ago, and I have been looking to add to my collection. There are lots of really good informative videos out there. Yours was a masterpiece though, best I've seen. Well done, man.
Wow! Thank you for watching it and leaving this really nice comment. I hope it helped
Super Mario Odyssey was a BLAST. One of my favorite games ever made. Definitely agree with you.
My first NS game is Zelda BOTW, and then TOTK. I easily fell in love with those games and now I want more now that I have it finished.
I also want more. Hopefully Nintendo makes another one in a similar style.
Just got my switch on April 2 of 2024 and my first game Zelda BOTW and man this game is pure perfection.
That is so cool! How far have you gotten?
You might be the only person who actually list games that deserve the spot in the top list. Many do this type of videos to sell games but this list feels very genuine.
Specially when you showed your collection with lots of games in plastic. I'm exactly the same. I have maybe 40+ games but have only played a handful of games mainly due to time restrictions. But i just want them :)
So far i beat Mario odyssey, Zelda botw and some more.
Love that sundanese music that you use as background. Should mention it in description so that more people will acknowledge and love them
Insane production quality and really good picks. Link's Awakening's art style is so good, reminds me of animal crossing in a way but more clay-ey
Thank you so much for watching! Link’s Awakening’s art style is like nothing else. Your description is spot on. It’s so cool.

Awesome! If you end up getting it, let me know what you think

Awesome! What games are you guys playing?
@NeanderMeander none yet my brother it's her Xmas present , that's how I found your channel I'm looking into the best games you can buy ! Subbed :)
(Now remake the Oracle games, you cowards!)
Kirby and the Forgotten Land: Kirby may have waited 30 years to go "true" 3D, but the result is a charming adventure platformer collectathon with excellent presentation, music, and level design.

The sand world gives me some sort of like nostalgia to when me and my brother would go into this game stop at the mall and play the demo of mario odyssey that only allowed you to play the sand world and we would go in there and replay it over and over every time our mom took us to the mall
That's really cool! No GameStops around me ever had a Switch kiosk. I've heard some stores still have them.
Small (and probably last) 2DS update in my 2023 journey: I have completed almost every game I ever wanted to play on this console.
A couple of ones are still pending:
-Luigi's Mansion 1/2, which I am reserving for October as part of the Halloween theme
-Animal Crossing, which I am reserving as my last 2DS game
Currently I am playing Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga, and will play Bowser's Story after that.

@@NeanderMeanderplease do and let me know what you think!! 🙏
Great game with lots of surprises, mystery, and challeges, second only to getting outside and enjoying such activites as fishing, hicking, excersising, or just hanging with friends.
excuse my poor spelling skills
Agreed. Doing things in real life is better than playing video games.
Im speechless on this video 😢
It’s good video I really understand your impact on games
Thank you so much for watching it! Thank you for the kind words!
Another Upload from one of my favorite TH-camr...nice, weekend saved....but there's one thing i don't understand: why the heck you don't have 100k+ subscribers. Every second of this vid is pure gold.... keep up your awesome work 🎉

So awesome! Nintendo Swtich is easily one of my favorite systems. On a side note. You've inspired me to be a greater content creator!

Brilliant video, nice work! I'm looking at getting my first Switch, the Oled version to play docked and hand-held. I've just added all of these games to my must buy list 😁 Thanks!
That’s awesome! You’ll have to update me on how you like the OLED and the games.
The quality made you think 1.5 million subs, not 15k. You deserve more subs for the high quality and satisfaction you deliver.
Thank you so much for writing this comment. It really means so much to read things like this. Thank you for watching
Your videos are so relaxing.
Glad you like them!
it's crazy how the first 4 games on the list were actually a part of my first amazon order of Nintendo Switch games! Needless to say... great list!
That's awesome! Have you been liking those games? Which on is your favorite?
@@NeanderMeander I’ve liked all games up until a certain point… except for Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze! It’s my favorite game of all time!
This guys videography is very unique
Keep up the good work 👌🏽
Thank you! Will do!
I’m blessed to say that I own everything single switch game in this video
I’m a huge Mario fan and my guilty secret is that I have yet to play either Galaxy games or Sunshine at all. That being said, don’t beat yourself up over not playing SM64. Don’t get me wrong-I 100% urge you to do so and complete it. But I often think how lucky I am to have gotten used to its controls as a kid rather than as an adult. I definitely can see how it’d be hard to get used to if I were to play it first nowadays. Regardless though, it is oh so worth it. I’m currently trying to get back into the DS version. But that too has proved very hard haha
“If you like the way he feels, that’s awesome”
Great video man. You earned a sub from me
Thank you for subbing. I'm glad you liked that line.
I just got Metroid Dread several months ago, bit I beat it on normal, and now I'm close to the wnd of it on hard mode...love it. It is the best Metroid platformer, so far...
Wow! I haven't even attempted hard mode. It's an incredible game. One of the best Metroid games for sure.
Thank you so much for watching this video! I'm glad I was able to convey how I feel about these games. Which ones do you own?
@@NeanderMeander Of the one you talked about; I own:
* Zelda - Breath of the Wild
* Mario Odyssee
* Metroid Prime
And recently I acquired:
* Zelds - Tears of the Kingdom
* 13 sentinels Aegis Rim
* Nier Automata
Thank you for your reply and video. Keep up the great work.
@@feniksphoenix8026 That's great! Let me know you think about Tears of the Kingdom. Have you already played Breath of the Wild?
I did play Breath of the Wild. After owning the copy since 2020, we {my better half and 3 year old daughter} have played it during the winter months of this year. Almost completed it, and finished the story. The video you've made about BotW in real life really resonated with me. That is the beauty that the game is. To be honest, I think BotW is better than TotK. I think because the former game had the biggest wow factor. But it is my favorite game by far.@@NeanderMeander
Bro this looks so professional. You should have your own game review channel on TV.
Thank you so much! I'm really glad you think so
Very cool cinematic vibes. Awesome list.
Thanks for watching!
i love links awakening , the remake was a no brainer for me. got even the collectors edition. wish they would make another game in this direction.
It's so good! I wish Nintendo would make another game like it too. I would buy it instantly.
@@NeanderMeander hell Yeah, count me in. If u ever meet Miyamoto, ask him for it on your knees praying sugar coated pretty pls 😂
Gonna buy a bunch of zelda and mario games when I get the switch
Nice! they are the best!
@@NeanderMeander I completely agree! I am also gonna buy elden rings and red redemption for pc. I need some new games to play
Great editing and story telling. I thoroughly enjoyed your video.
Thank you so much for watching!
@@NeanderMeander Always an honor!
@@NeanderMeander Also, Links Awakening is amazing. I've good memories of it also.
@@SkakinBaconMedia It just might be my favorite Zelda game. It so good!
The way you express yourself 😩 I feel like I love you
The thing i related to most in this video was just the fact that Botw is on your list, but Totk isnt.
Your production levels are insane
Thank you so much!
I also never played Mario 64 and want to to this day. I loved sunshine but I never finished it as a teen. Would love to go back and compete one day. I found it to be a very challenging Mario game.
It's good to know that I'm not the only one who missed out of Mario 64. It's fun, but I wouldn't call it the greatest Mario game ever made.
Great video as always man and pretty solid list. It’d be really hard for me to put together a top 5 for the switch. I honestly feel like I got my most memorable experiences from indie games.
1. Hollow Knight
2. Celeste
3. Enter the Gungeon
4. Hyper Light Drifter
5. A Short Hike
But when it came to Nintendo I’d have to say
1. Tears of the Kingdom
2. Metroid Dread
3. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
4. Smash Bros Ultimate
5. Animal Crossing: New Horizons
The other ports were really good too but if I could only choose 10 games to keep for the switch I’d be fine with keeping Tropical Freeze, 3D World, and Pikmin 3 on the Wii U.
Such a poetic video. Absolutely love it!
Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it!
Dude your photography skills are amazing!!!!
Thank you so much! These take quite a bit of planning. Thank you for watching it
Throughout all my childhood I have never been encountered one single original nintendo title.
Great list! I loved Wonder, Mario Kart 8, and 3D All Stars. I still need to play Smash Ultimate and Luigi's Mansion.
@@NeanderMeander i actually havent beat luigi's mansion, but it is really fun, and i have over a thousand hours in smash so i may have an addiction, but smash is most fun when you got a group to play it with, so if you wanna play smash get a few friends and just mess around
Metroid Dread, DK, and Links Awakening all in a row. Ofc im gonna leave a like.
I love those games so much! It's good to know you do too
I agree with all of it!
@@NeanderMeander I'll have to try one sometime!

I think if I had to pick 5 switch games I absolutely could not live without I would pick:
Smash ultimate
Tears of the kingdom
Super mario odyssey
Mario kart 8 deluxe
Xenoblade 3
(This is only first party Nintendo games)
Fantastic video btw super high quality editing and production
I'll have to give it a try. I had it for years, I just haven't ever played it.
The games I play most on my Switch are Monster Hunter Rise, Astral Chain, LUMINES REMASTERED, DOOM 64, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, Metroid Dread, Mario Odyssey, and Kirby and the Forgotten Land.
Awesome list!
