Such. Effortless. Talent and Artistry...when I get depressed about the state of the world I just come back and listen to these joyous sister sing... till I get my hope back....please, oh please, keep singing hope into this old world ladies!!!
Whenever I decide to have a search around TH-cam my fingers take on a will of their own and invariably type 'First Aid Kit'! Curse you 'First Aid Kit' for never letting me enjoy the, undoubted, many other pleasures TH-cam has to offer!!
I love this so very much and I watch it multiple times a day so I thought this might be helpful: Marianne's Son - 0:10 To a Poet - 3:48 America - 14:48 King of the World - 18:44
I just watched this entire video and was completely amazed. I remember years ago listening to their Fleet Foxes cover... They have grown so much as singer/songwriters - it's awesome!
obiwannotanikan if you haven't heard them, you must check out the staves. there harmonies are even better then FAK. only reason i like FAK more is because of klara's insanely good falsetto. the staves are a sister trio btw.
Wow, they're great. I just checked out some of their video. Thanks! Yeah, the main reason I listen to FAK is Klara's voice, and I like folk music, but their newer stuff is a bit too poppy for me. My brother loves the Wailin' Jennys. They're very good, but I'm not a huge fan of A cappella.
Beautiful session. I think this presenter did a good job despite some adverse personal comments. Good show. Love it all. Like the drumming - he is spot on - has a vioice too where is he now?- how could they think to lose him?
Wow...loving this...excellent quality recording.... does the sisters fantastic voices justice....To the Poet...what an outstanding song that is....rocking along with it!!!!!!
I just want to sit there and listen to them over and over again! You two are really belong together :) The sisters Söderberg's voices are so harmonized.
Their harmonies are unbelievable. As a 10 year old many a year ago my friend had an older brother who introduced me to Simon and Garfunkel and Crosby, Stills and Nash, I had a good start in my musical life. So I waited, enjoyed the Eagles, and Kate and Anna McGarrigal, and finally First Aid Kit. I waited and waited for such harmony to come along again. Love this so much.
Great observation Zach. That woodsy live recording haunted the shit out of me on the most melodic way. They did FF's and amazing tribute as well as present themselves as a force not be reckoned with.
I grew up in the same neighborhood as they did!! Moved when I was 6 or 7 unfortunately so never got to know them but I'm pretty sure we went to the same school.. Go Sweden!!
There is definitely a female music/muscian renaissance occurring, and no, I'm not talking about Taylor Swift, etc.(PLEEEASE SPARE ME!) It's awesome because the music scene has been in a lull for the past 5years, so it's great to see it being lifted back up.
All true and even most British singers try to sound American too. The accent just seems to fit many musical styles better. For example I'm from Lancashire (England) and if anyone sings with a Lancashire accent they are pretty certain to be Folk singers.
Yeah, theyve have def received a lot of credits, Great reviews and 6 grammis nominations etc. They havent played much live in sweden though, actually I think the tour in February 2013 will be their first ever proper swedish tour, which is kind of sad in a way.
They are speaking english and singing. Most people switch up their accents when singing to fit the music style and when learning english people use either British or American Sources, be them formal learning or films and TV. In Scandinavia, American and British TV/Film is popular, people watch it in original audio so are exposed to these accents and English language from an early age.
Such. Effortless. Talent and Artistry...when I get depressed about the state of the world I just come back and listen to these joyous sister sing... till I get my hope back....please, oh please, keep singing hope into this old world ladies!!!
their cover of America is the best I've ever heard... they were born to play that song.
Whenever I decide to have a search around TH-cam my fingers take on a will of their own and invariably type 'First Aid Kit'!

It doesn't get any better than these sisters. The best voices, the best harmonies, the most original lyrics, the best creators of moods.

To a poet is the most beautiful thing ever.. the sudden stop and the lush arrangement afterwards is amazing
they harmonize so fucking well
at 7:13 you can see the beauty unfold into a Zepplin moment. These ladies are truly talented. Great Band!
How can they sing this good? Their vocal harmonies are perfect-
My three favorite duos (in no particular order):
1. The Civil Wars (so sad they split)
2. Chris and Thomas
3. First Aid Kit
This band is so, so good.

Great band, great story.
There is definitely a female music/muscian renaissance occurring, and no, I'm not talking about Taylor Swift, etc.(PLEEEASE SPARE ME!)
It's awesome because the music scene has been in a lull for the past 5years, so it's great to see it being lifted back up.
I recently learned that women make up 50% of new guitar buyers. The reason? Taylor Swift.
