Every school my son went to from kindergarten to high school, he’s always become friends with a custodian. There were days I would go to pick him up if he was sick and I’d be walking him out from the nurses office and the custodian would see us and have to check on him. From the start he always made sure to include his friend on holidays. If we made class gifts/cards or teacher gifts, you better believe we had a gift for his custodian friend as well. Schools can’t function without them, it’s a vital job and they are often overlooked. I’m glad this guy got recognized and a lot of the comments are positive experiences from others.
My custodian in elementary school would find my retainer in the trash or on the ground and save it for me. His name was Geronimo and he barely spoke any English. ❤
