I have one reserved at micro center right now. Idk if I want to drive the 2.5 hours to go get it. It will put my r9 7900x to shame in some of the games I play.
@@nickservidio3399 I won't be just gaming, will be doing school work as well, which at best requires me to make a documentary. I might go for ryzen 5 7600x
Got the first one sold at Microcenter this morning at St. Davids. Going to mate it with QVL 8000Mt/s KLEVV DDR5, and MSI X870E CARBON MB. and RTX 4080 SUPER! LETS ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The fabric bottlenecks the memory bandwith and latency. You're literally sacrificing performance with anything beyond 6400mts not in a 1:1 ratio. Just because you can do it doesn't mean you should on that platform. 8000mts with tight timings and an Apex or Tachyon board with raptor lake is actually way faster than 9000mts especially where the 1% lows are concerned. 8000 on raptor lake - yes. With AM5 - No
You guys need to expand into Canada. Love to have some microcenters here, would be awesome. Beautiful build but think the SSD is suppose to go in the spot closer to the right (M.2.1) as the other two ssd directly below cpu have lane sharing with GPU. I could be wrong tho
Is the build quality of custom PCs from Micro Center consistent across all locations? Specifically, are screws tightened properly, parts secure, wiring correct, and cable management handled neatly?
That is a gorgeous PC right there. I have a question. I want to go to the US to Microcenter and buy a computer like that, do you recommend buy the components and bring that in the plane or just get everything build up first and get it through the flight? Props to that build!
I have no answer based on experience but if it was me I'd just bring the parts in the original boxes unopened as they'd be much more protected and easier to take thru customs than a fully built rig. Unless you're driving then it shouldn't make too much of a difference.
i am doing a build now with the 9800x3d & Asus Strix x870E-E motherboard but need some advice with deciding on gpu. xfx rx 7900 xtx or Asus rtx 4080 super OC proart.
Just bought a ryzen 7 9800 X3d but pairing it with a MSI MAG X870 TOMAHAWK WIFI Motherboard instead. Is this a good pairing or should I go for the the ASUS ROG X870E-E in this video, which is nearly double the price?
The x870 is perfectly fine, yes they could've saved money, yes they could HAVE done this or that, but this is a build with the best possible parts for gaming besides a 4090
Build is sick but tbh i cannot stand Astros anymore. Had too many awful issues with my last one. Went to Steelseries Arctis Pro wireless and ill probably stick with them forever. Best headset I've ever owned.
Its crazy on FB there is a group called AMD enthusiast and they are trying to say that the B650 is as good as any X870E for gaming on the market today and that there is no need to upgrade your MOBO for the new Ryzen 7 9800x3D.
do we need to update bios on x870 too? since some boards launched a while back with the normal zen5 ? i think someone who buys am5 now might have to do the flashbios in the dark so to speak , using the flashback feature
I’m looking to upgrade to the 9800x3d from a r9 7900x. Would I need to reinstall windows to get the full power out of the x3d chip? I’ve seen people say if you go from 2 ccd to 1 ccd you need to reinstall windows to unlock the full potential of the cpu.
@ I have a 4090 currently. I ended up waiting to see if the 9950x3d will be better than the 7950x3d was. I’m just going to keep saving for the time being and see how things look after CES or whatever is in January. My rig is already fast af so I feel the money would be better put into a better chair, another monitor and a new desk.

NZXT, yeah nah that's poor quality. all fans/PSU and cases i've used from there are bad quality. For fans go with either Be Quiet or Noctua. So much more quieter and still perform well. Why use a gen 4 NVME when you spending so much on the 870 motherboard? You're getting a board made for PCI 5.0, utilize it. Especially when the next GEN GPUs will be PCI 5.0. @AshtonCoolman I heard that the CUDIM ram don't work with the new amd chip or the mobo, functionality wise it for the new Intel Arrow head MOBO.
Sick build , I'm actually going to be buying this case maybe in 2 - 3 months :P But strange choice for the ram 😅
