[GBA W1] A New Beginning! Milwaukee Bewears vs Columbus Chu!

The first week of the GBA is here and the Milwaukee Bewears are facing off against the Columbus Chu, captained by the mysterious Coach Z!

It took 8 (?) seasons but it looks like the GBA finally has a Milwaukee team that ain't trash.

You know, I want to challenge this. His season 1 personality was good, back when he put himself on camera and had more fun with the concept of a Pokemon Draft (doing motivational talks before every battle, for example). After that, I can draw from some events that I feel show his descent:
1. How and why he kicked Mooty out of the league: While I understand there is a bit of bad blood between them last I heard, I also recall that the reason she was kicked out was because Steve was pissed off she posted pictures of herself and her then boyfriend on Twitter. Rather than unfollowing her, he kicked her and when people called him on it his answer was to declare "It's my league, I'll kick anyone out for any reason I want." It's not really a sound reasoning and I think it was a warning sign of things to come.
2. Keeping the BattlerX personality around: This hurt him much more than it helped. It took the personality people liked off the screen and, while it was fresh at first, the gimmick stayed around for too long. By the second season BattlerX was around, the character wasn't bringing anything to the battles and just kind of grew grating. I remember when BattlerX "died" I literally rejoiced in the comments that Steve would finally be coming back. Then BattlerX was resurrected and I'm pretty sure he was still tacking on bad BattlerX shorts onto every video.
3. A general descent in quality: He began the GBA in style, lampooning the motivational speeches coaches provide their players. By the end, he was lamenting that he was "creative as fuck" and how depressing it was that no one wanted to watch a video where he split screened himself playing a trumpet badly. The problem was, was that that video wasn't very good.The video in question, the trumpet playing distracted from what I wanted to see: A charismatic guy enjoying himself in a Pokemon battle. The trumpet added nothing to the video and felt like a lazy way to call his video "creative". Unfortunately, we can see his descent in other ways. The motivational speeches I praised him for ultimately disappeared and were replaced with lazy Star Wars crawls. This took him and his personality off screen even more while replacing himself with a boring and overused narrative device.
4. He refused to allow his personality to shine: The guy spent most of his time in the GBA wearing a mask and finding ways to take his face off screen. Well before he ended his run, he was only appearing as a character that had no personality whatsoever instead of himself.
I don't mean to challenge you on your opinion so heavily, but this is my postmortem of the Milwaukee Sawsbucks. I ultimately feel everything goes back to his reasoning of "It's my league, I'll kick anyone out for any reason I want." It was his videos, and he felt that he should exercise his despotic dominion over them as well. The problem is that his exercise thereof turned into a bunch of nonsense that didn't add to his videos that he deemed "creative" but which had the ultimate effect of taking his personality off the screen. As this went on, he doubled down and kept on the mask and found more ways to keep himself off the screen. I was watching him well before the GBA, but I've stopped watching him since he left. His stunning ability to shed the best things and double down on the worst killed his content for me. But hey, its his content and he'll do what he wants and I do wish him the best.

Hey man, new subscriber here just because I don't have a lot of interest in VGC, but of course I've seen you around in places like on Joey's channel and I know you won at Worlds last year, you're a fantastic battler, very solid 4-0 here in your GBA debut! Xurk came through clutch with just enough HP investment. Worked perfectly. Thank goodness Tangrowth got that last ditch knock off to connect.

Wolfey good game but if I was you I would take notes bc in the team preview it showed that Manaphy didn't had a item, that's something you should have noticed at the team preview but in the end you had a good game plan and executed it very good so congrats on the win

The Z-Sunny Day was a brilliant idea, but I think you rushed your decisions at some points. Take your time to think about your win cons and possible surprises on your opponents team!
And Jellicents nickname could be "Pringles" because it kinda looks like the pringles guy :D

Life Orb Iron Fist does more damage and doesn't require a turn to setup.
While Guts flame orb takes less residual damage 1/16 instead of 1/10, gives access to facade, can't be weakened by burn, along with boosting all conks physical moves instead of iron fist which doesn't boost stuff like eq, stone edge, poison jab and superpower

Svenni Svenni2612 This is a draft league (aka they choose Pokémon from different tiers and are restricted to using only those Pokémon for the league games). So he likely chose a better mon than weavile in its tier and settled for sneasel in a lower tier.

Only poison jab would get the boost, though. Mach Punch, Drain Punch and Hammer Arm wouldn't.
