"We're your ally!" The Cardassians probably said the same thing. Also, I'm surprised no one laughed when Kira said the Bajoran fleet would guarantee the planet's safety.
Was it on behalf of Bajor? I honestly don't remember. What is their relationship with Bajor anyways? Are they aware they are gods to Bajor?@@neolexiousneolexian6079
They shoulda just compromised to have half their weapons there but under strict Bajoran supervision & control. Further the compromise by adding for every 1 Romulan soldier they have 3 Bajoran soldiers to supervise them. It is their moon after all so they could've easily justified it too & it would've been totally justifiable too. That way they'd still have those defenses, but they would be under Bajoran control. Also have a few Starfleet officers there to act as a neutral 3rd party moderator in case of further disputes over protocol if the compromise was agreed too. That's how I'd have handled it anyway cause they really did need to keep their defenses fortified. To leave themselves that exposed was a huge gamble that very easily could've backfired.
I strongly doubt the Romulans would have agreed to putting their weapons under Bajoran control. Even DS9 only stocked 4,000 photon torpedoes, the Romulans put 7,000 plasma torpedoes on that moon, without notifying Bajor or the Federation. That wasn't defending a hospital, that was staking a claim.
I imagine the hospital was blockaded on the ground as well, no? If not, the Bajorans could have targeted it from space. Nevertheless, a good point; I think one that they forgot to consider when making the plot.
@@tomb7942 I think Romulan warships would not allowed in the system; civilian vessels might, though. Even so, there might be certain weapons that wouldn't be allowed. And yes, they can cloak themselves in the system...point is, it's not something the Bajoran government can allow.

@@tomb7942 I'll amend that: allowed only by the Bajoran government's authorization. Power to disrupt/contribute that last bit to major plans is almost as big leverage as actually being a major player in those plans; that's how minority parties are able to leverage majority parties in parliament, for example.
Romulans were being classic Romulans by not really wanting to engage but to just test their enemy. In this case the enemy was not the Bajorans, but the Federation. Even though technically allies during the war, they still saw them as adversaries, just as Sloan pointed out.

My favourite line from Weyoun. "There's something...different...about you, Damar. Oh yes, you're not holding a bottle." Or something like that.
I always laugh at the line, "Bajor will guarantee its safety." 😄
that dukat speech is very good, weyoun was underestimating
This is where a changeling infiltrator would have been handy, imagine if a Bajoran ship had open fire on the Romulans.
The D'deridex-class is my favourite ship in all of Star Trek.
But not even a thousand of them could have won against Kira.
"We are just not as important to the war effort as the Romulans", that's true. The Bajorians are weak
"Well last i checked Bajor wasn't even at war with the dominion so yeah you guys are fairly unimportant to the war effort"

Bajore reminds me so much of the French.
The Romulans could just slip by cloaked, unload their cargo and tell the Bajorians to pound sand.
