This had just the right amount of detail. Although I am not installing a different head unit, it all applies especially in older model TJs. The 2000s seem to have more videos but console is a little different. Thanks
Slick, and you’ve got a C L E A N Jeep! Just had my TJ’s stereo done and love it, went with a Sony DSX-GS80 but I’m digging that Boss double-din for cameras. I’m feeling the need for a front when cresting hills and backup to see around my spare that sits high on the tire carrier.
Thank you David, this is the reason why I started creating videos to help people like you and others. Hopefully you're subscribed to the channel and enjoy all other videos I'll be uploading.
Did you ever connect the backup camera? I didn't see the video on your channel on that. When you ground the green wire (emergency brake wire) to the head unit ground cable, do you remember what the color is for that ground wire? Can that green wire be grounded to the frame? Thanks
I have never connected the backup camera since I purchased the mirror which has the backup camera on it. Its been so long I don't remember what wire is with the green one. If its grounded then you can ground it on the frame.
I really enjoyed watching your video. I am replacing my original radio with a double din and your video helped me a lot. I have a question, regarding your additional USB plug that you installed. You connected your plug to the back of your radio. My new radio does not have a USB connection in the back, so if I want to install a usb plug, where would I connect it to have power?
@@estevesr2 Thanks for watching, one wire you will just connect to a piece of metal or screw and the red wire you can either connect to your red lighter plug of the fuse box
Amy updaye on the radio? I have everything except the radio and the double plug in (which one is that BTW?) for my build just haven't pulled the trigger on the radio yet!
The radio is working great, no complaints at all. If you look at one of the other comments I put the links for both the radio and the faceplate. You need to go ahead and get it done, not expensive and we'll worth the upgrade.
Thanks, I'm trying to get better on my video's. And be on the lookout I'm going to be doing a part 2 on how I'm going to screw the box on to the roll bar.
Hey! I am thinking of getting that bulletproof phone mount but they aren’t made for TJs, how did you mount yours? Did you just drill/modify the head assembly to be able to screw it in?
