My only Jeep is my 2020 Gladiator Rubicon, but my best interior mod is a toss-up between the Jeep/Mopar all-weather floor mats (with the drain plugs), and my 67 Designs carbon fiber phone mount. Both are awesome, and I use both every time I drive, so I can't choose between the two which I like best.
Cassie, glad you're doing more vids. Keep it up, girl! The off roading community is sorely in need of more of you ladies out wheelin, fixing, and staring in A roll.
I just started watching your videos and realize that I have the exact same LJ. We have the same armor and step rails. Good to see what is possible with mine as you guys do all the upgrade
I installed an Alpine ILX-W650 shallow double din with the Alpine KTA-450 amp power duo in my Jeep. I love the setup. All of today's modern features along with Great sound!!! Back up cam is wired along with a new Kicker 6" center console sub and a 10" Kenwood sub with Alpine amp in the rear. But my favorite interior mods so far are the LED light replacements.
I like the included bloopers, much more entertaining than adding them at the end. Very good tutorial. Well done. Now to wait for a long term review of the radio after wheeling trips and such.
There's always time for the bling. I did this to my wife's TJ, she loves it. Later a listener shared a link for the XJ double din bezel, and I did mine. Now the girls want to do the same in their TJs.
Awesome! I finally pulled the trigger and got myself one. Watching to get ideas. I am definitely excited and I feel same way, wish I would have done it sooner.
I would to get that radio for my mom. She left her top off her 97 TJ, and the radio quit working. She had a similar radio. She is one who does not like change. lol. Keep up the good work. I like the wife and husband team, but have different channels.
That’s a great mod...! That’s next on my list for my 93 YJ. There’s currently a Crutchfield replacement in there.....seen better days. I just finished putting in Corbeau seats....super comfortable.
I run the pioneer 2550NEX. I installed a while ago and yesterday I installed the eRapta b/u camera!! All works great and a must have. I also replaced factory speakers with kickers and installed a crutch field sound ordinance powered sub inside the center console. You can actually hear clear sound with the top off! As someone else mentioned, hope you got the scissors out🤣
First thing I did in my Jeep was the radio lol. Double din pioneer nex dvd w/ Apple car play and installed a bypass. Also put a back up camera cuz my 35 inch spare basically blocks anything in my rear view.
I installed the Pioneer AVH-2550 NEX as well as Pioneer’s backup camera a little over a month ago in my 2012 JKUR. Along with all new speakers and a new sub, it feels like a newer Jeep. I couldn’t be happier!
I installed a double DIN Kenwood/infotainment system in my TJ about 3 or 4 years ago. At the time, I could not find a dash kit available so I had to make my own brackets, hack up the factory center dash cover, and do the body work on the dash cover myself. It turned out great with a some cutting, fabricating, bondo, and paint. That dash kit would have made it so much easier! lol
I just recently installed a Boss double din radio in my 2005 tj Rubicon, and I love it. The 320 watts of power really sound awesome in the Jeep. All I want to do now is fix the factory subwoofer. You did an awesome job and I know you will love the new system.
I need that stereo soooooooooooo bad ! I had a dual forever till it got rained on it was so faithful!!! Please consider me I love y’all coolest couple I know !
I did a 7 inch motorized fold out single din Pioneer NEX3400. It is nice cause the Jeep is topless all Summer and it hides away when I'm not in the Jeep. Plus you can still use in in the tucked position if you get stuck in the pop up rain storm!
Tinted windows lol it feels like an interior upgrade! And adding a stereo and tailgate table!!! I’m obsessed with mine from amazon. It was $50 and is an exact replica of one that’s $250 on extreme terrain
That was super helpful -thanks! I was about to buy one of those single DIN "floating screen" head units -i was a little hesitant of the whole having to modify the sub-dash part, but after watching your video, decided to go with a double DIN unit.
OK, I purchased the 2018 jlu rubicon , love it, then purchased a 2021 ecodiesel gladiator, live it. So I just bought a 1999 Sahara tj, I'm hooked . Or addicted 😋. Wife is starting to too. She signed up for jeep Jabari and drove ever obstacle. She's hooked too. I fact she told me about the tj. Lol and sent Pic as she was driving.lol
I did the double din upgrade on my daughter’s Jeep around the same time. You really have to get crafty with the frame attachment. I actually plastic welded some brackets because the 99 radio mount was useless. I used an Alpine ILX with the wireless Apple CarPlay. So nice!
I am currently running a Pioneer radio. I plan to install a double din in the future, but new mobile quad band transceiver will go in next. My current radio may be replaced because I mostly use the CD player, and I have no room in the center console for CDs. Being able to listen to my obscure favorite groups, like UFO, and Th' Inbred ['The Positive Song' is life affirming. Trust me. :/], would be awesome.
We had the same unit installed, we didn’t find any scissors in the dash. Works great, but we can’t get Android Auto to work for my wife, Car Play working for me! It does need more bass so speakers and subwoofer and all that good stuff are next!
i put an iPad mini in the dash of my f150. Ive done ipads in many of my vehicles. The good thing about the F150 is it appears to be the radio, and you can still have the stock radio behind it so you still get all of the regular functions too.
Halford's in the UK sell the harness complete, so you do not need to solder the harness which comes with the radio, to the one you have to purchase for your car. It is just plug and play. I had a factory installed radio for Peugeot Citroen, but I have replaced it last week, with a 7018B.
Love your videos! I bought my 2014 Jeep two years ago. It has a Uconnect stereo but no navigation (I'm trying to find a "hack" to get it to work). That stereo is sexy and looks great in your Jeep. I'm saving up $$ to get a lift installed, new bumpers and maybe some running board "tubes." I also want to get some 1/2 doors and quick release mirrors. You give me lots of ideas :) CHEERS -- subscribed!
You two are awesome! I enjoy both of your channels, it’s always fun watching you guys! I could definitely use that receiver for my garage stereo. I use all car audio equipment for my setup and my old alpine receiver is no longer with us.. I would be able to give it a good home, haha. Keep up the awesome content!!
Yea you got a new radio😂 guess what i got ! Inspired buy the wheels you put on your TJ .. yep finally got some new wheels , they are made by “Vision” gunsmoke grey with black centers ,, i loved the way they looked on your jeep so got them for mine. Not the same wheel pattern but the same dark grey color. Normally $600 on sale for $500 oh yea baby will be at Firestone at 9am for install.
Much smoother than Ben's install. Which stands to reason, I mean, the guy doesn't know where the spices go. ;-) lol. Good stuff as usual, from both channels!!
I really enjoy your videos and have inspired some things for me to do my jeep that i didnt know existed (jk rubi axles for the tj/lj platform) and i think this will be my next mini project after i get my current major project done on my tj, and my favorite interior mod i have is my smittybilt molly bags on my ceiling in my tj
There a splicers you can use that have solder inside and shrink type plastic so all you need to do is slide the wires in and hear w a heat gun. No need for soldering iron.
I got the Sony xav-ax 100 in my 16 I'm, only sucky part is the clock never work properly unless an iPhone or Android is connect it, other then that is pretty decent and easy for my parents to understand as if left them my 16 jk sport
I did this several years ago and went with a Pioneer AppRadio3. Unfortunately Pioneer released the AppRadio-1 a few months after I bought mine and that one supposedly did away with the bulky USB to iPhone cables.
hoping that ill be chosen as a receiver of your old radio from the jeep, ill install it in my Boom box for my sound set up DIY.. just hoping it could reach my country Philippines her at Cavite city.. Nice job for ur DIY 2DIN car stereo.. Good job.. more reviews n more power to ur channel.. Keep safe.. God Bless
Looks like you attached your a/c selectors back to the dash vs attaching them to the back side of the metro kit. That will leave a gap between the metro dash kit and the hvac controls.
How bright is the display? Can you see it when the top is off? Is it loud enough over the sound of the tires and wind? You didn’t install the microphone?
Have an 06' Just bought the 7" marine BOSS and the aftermarket new dash, I saw you got the 6.75" I am hoping it fits, really like the idea of marine grade and cover it comes with... Any thoughts?
What are some of your favorite interior upgrades you have done to you Jeep?! Let me know below!!!
I absolutely love the Smittybuilt G.E.A.R. overhead storage and my Grabar's. Also what are your grab handles?
Went from the stock lighting to LED's and what a difference .
My only Jeep is my 2020 Gladiator Rubicon, but my best interior mod is a toss-up between the Jeep/Mopar all-weather floor mats (with the drain plugs), and my 67 Designs carbon fiber phone mount. @@thomasthewrangler wish they'd make one for the JL
@mudrunner2005 Big fan of both of these!
Wait what, are we just going to ignore the scissors in the dash at time code 5:21 hahahaha
Yeah, I had to do a double take on that!
@@MikeCurtis7663 I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that.
I caught that too! Didn’t see mention of that as a tool needed for the install. 😂
I was thinking the same thing 🤔 lol
I shall name those scissors "Rando"
Cassie, glad you're doing more vids. Keep it up, girl! The off roading community is sorely in need of more of you ladies out wheelin, fixing, and staring in A roll.
Cassie is cool. These two are refreshing from other youtube couples.
I just installed a Sony XAV-AX5500 in my 2003 Jeep TJ and it’s amazing! Also did an entire Rockford system. Worked out really well
at 5:21 there is a pair of scissors hold wiring in place!
I bought my daughter a power wheel Jeep for her birthday, and that old radio would be the prefect upgrade for her. She loves her Jeep and music!!!
I just started watching your videos and realize that I have the exact same LJ. We have the same armor and step rails. Good to see what is possible with mine as you guys do all the upgrade

Agreed, wish I had done it sooner. Most people who have made the switch love it.

That looks better than I thought. Usually some radios look cheesy and out of plave
Yes I've been wanting for this!! I have a 06 TJ Rubicon and been thinking about upgrading the entire audio system.

That old radio would make a pretty sweet cooler radio to float the river with :)))))
It's great seeing *you and Ben making videos again.* And it's great you now have a garage. Wish you guys all the luck in the future.

Jeep Gear & Gadgets Yup! A black 04 named Clark, and a Champaign 05 named Ellen.

Anyone else notice the random scissors in the back of the dash 🤔🤔
I thought it was cast iron 🤣🤣🤣👏👏👏 Gotti !
Little known fact: all Jeeps have a pair of scissors and a butter knife inside the dash.
that was the unique easter egg that all TJ's have

I have to get a touchscreen radio, you made it look easy!
Interested in the radio. Could definitely use it in my Jeep! Love the channel, awesome content 🙂
I still have the cassette player and running 😃. I use a bt /radio connector for streaming.

I can not find the DD988ACP which is very important as I am in Costa Rica and I want to make sure what I order fits my 1997 TJ, help!!

How is the brightness with the top down in the summer? i have a single din with an lcd screen that is totally unreadable
Were the scissors in there from the previous owner?
