I installed a double DIN Kenwood/infotainment system in my TJ about 3 or 4 years ago. At the time, I could not find a dash kit available so I had to make my own brackets, hack up the factory center dash cover, and do the body work on the dash cover myself. It turned out great with a some cutting, fabricating, bondo, and paint. That dash kit would have made it so much easier! lol
I installed the Pioneer AVH-2550 NEX as well as Pioneer’s backup camera a little over a month ago in my 2012 JKUR. Along with all new speakers and a new sub, it feels like a newer Jeep. I couldn’t be happier!
I need that stereo soooooooooooo bad ! I had a dual forever till it got rained on it was so faithful!!! Please consider me I love y’all coolest couple I know !
I did a 7 inch motorized fold out single din Pioneer NEX3400. It is nice cause the Jeep is topless all Summer and it hides away when I'm not in the Jeep. Plus you can still use in in the tucked position if you get stuck in the pop up rain storm!
i put an iPad mini in the dash of my f150. Ive done ipads in many of my vehicles. The good thing about the F150 is it appears to be the radio, and you can still have the stock radio behind it so you still get all of the regular functions too.
Halford's in the UK sell the harness complete, so you do not need to solder the harness which comes with the radio, to the one you have to purchase for your car. It is just plug and play. I had a factory installed radio for Peugeot Citroen, but I have replaced it last week, with a 7018B.
We had the same unit installed, we didn’t find any scissors in the dash. Works great, but we can’t get Android Auto to work for my wife, Car Play working for me! It does need more bass so speakers and subwoofer and all that good stuff are next!

There a splicers you can use that have solder inside and shrink type plastic so all you need to do is slide the wires in and hear w a heat gun. No need for soldering iron.
How has the SSL brand held up compared to the Boss in the other Jeep? Reviews seem to be mixed and some mention poor quality in screen resolution for camera and overall OS crashes. Plan on installing a double DIN in my TJ soon and this setup is nice.
Does that have GPS built in? Sometimes when we are out wheeling in the woods, or way off the road our phones won't connect or there are no good maps. However there are nice trail maps but need built in GPS. I have an 05 Rubicon and have had this same idea on my "Jeep list" for quite a while and it's getting closer to the top of the list.

Hey guys, hope you can help me out with a question. looking to replace stock radio in my wrangler TJ 2005. Dash and radio, dash, aircon vents and dials look like yours. Was looking to put in a joying single din 8.8inch head unit. But after reading online i have read that if you have an amplifier aftermarket stereos dont always work. My jeep came stock with 7 spearkers, Sub in the center dash between the 2 front seats and amplifier. I am led to believe the amp is also in the center dash, although have never pulled the dash apart to confirm. I keep hearing issues with Infinity and boston compatibility especially when looking through various android head units on aliexpress. One store mentioned requiring the use of a CANBUS however 1 or 2 forums i have checked mention that the TJ did not use canbus protocol until the JK was released and i should have no issues plugging in after market stereo and having everything work . Do you have any advise for person who has no ideas about the inner workings of cars Cheers
Pro-tip for TJ owners: REMOVE YOUR REAR VIEW MIRROR. you don't need it if you know how to use your side view mirrors and have them adjusted properly. You will be amazed at how much your forward visibility increases without it!
I would get one of these so u don’t have to have a wire just hanging there ... I love the radio nice video I will definitely be buying this radio and dash but here the piece I was talking about it slides into the stock toggle switch spots all u have todo is pull out one of the inserts cut the face off it and slide the piece with inside the insert and put it back in the toggle switch spot I have had mine for 2 years and I hadn’t had a problem with it yet but here’s the piece (Metra AX-USB-35EXT 3.5mm iPod to USB Extension Cable - 27-Inch - Black) copy and paste it on Amazon... First thing I did in my Jeep was the radio lol. Double din pioneer nex dvd w/ Apple car play and installed a bypass. Also put a back up camera cuz my 35 inch spare basically blocks anything in my rear view.

Inspired buy the wheels you put on your TJ .. yep finally got some new wheels , they are made by “Vision” gunsmoke grey with black centers ,, i loved the way they looked on your jeep so got them for mine. Not the same wheel pattern but the same dark grey color. Normally $600 on sale for $500 oh yea baby will be at Firestone at 9am for install.
That’s a great mod...! That’s next on my list for my 93 YJ. There’s currently a Crutchfield replacement in there.....seen better days. I just finished putting in Corbeau seats....super comfortable.
I like the included bloopers, much more entertaining than adding them at the end. Very good tutorial. Well done. Now to wait for a long term review of the radio after wheeling trips and such.
There's always time for the bling. I did this to my wife's TJ, she loves it. Later a listener shared a link for the XJ double din bezel, and I did mine. Now the girls want to do the same in their TJs.

I just installed a Sony XAV-AX5500 in my 2003 Jeep TJ and it’s amazing! Also did an entire Rockford system. Worked out really well
