    Epic camera, a most underrated camera in history. Organic, clean, film look coming from it sensor using SDI-A port, with RGB 444 upgrade. thanks for review

    I have to say it's refreshing to see this camera in the hands of a skilled filmmaker. I noticed your lighting is very good and probably using good lenses as well. So it's not only about the camera, although this camera is becoming a "classic" workhorse, capable of timeless, filmic images.

  • @RickBiemolt
    @RickBiemolt 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I feel rather dumb, but I hope you can help me out with a question I have :)
    I recently bought a Sony F5 with a passive adapter that has a aperture ring on it. I decided to switch to EF lenses and bought the Sigma 18-35mm f1.8. The lens itself doesn’t have an aperture ring.
    Seeing that you adapt Nikon lenses, how do you change your aperture?
    When I turn the aperture ring of my adapter I only see the blades closing and opening in front of the sensor.
    Does this mean my Sigma lens is fixed at f1.8 without me being able to adjust the aperture at all?

    •  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nikon has a mechanical lever that the lens adapter can push on to change the aperture. So thats how my adapter works. Canon only has internal electronic aperture. So you need an active adapter. Costs around 1000 💵 for fz mount. Or an adapter like you have, that has its own aperture while the lens stays wide open.

    • @RickBiemolt

  • @imabigsandwich1292

    What I find funny is that everybody shitted on the colorscience and highlight roll off of the f3 due to how much worse it is compared to their previous cinealta camera the f35. But now we see a sudden resurgence in opinions and calling the f3 "magical". Same thing happened with the red one and the bmpcc. The red one was brutally shitted on compared to the f35 at the time, and the bmpcc was not even nearly as "filmic" as the digital bolex. Yet here we are with opinions that are dramatically different. Just goes to show how volatile internet's opinions are.

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The f35 is a beast of a camera. I can understand the comparison. The f3 did not come with s-log in the beginning. Could that be the reason people did not like it? I don't like the rec709 out of this camera one bit.

    • @imabigsandwich1292
      @imabigsandwich1292 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @ I think it was due to the much weaker highlight retention and color shifting when blown out even in log. With noise issues and aliasing. Same complaint was had with the fs100 i think.

      you are beating down your own point, big sandwich.
      users dislike F3 base on the previous F35 experience, just like now they are cherishing F3 in comparison to new models, the underneath logic holds true throughout.

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Slog "1" is more linear than the later versions. Same with Blackmagic old "film" profile. They grade quicker/easier in my opinion. But has less DR I suppose. I Match my a7iii and f3 all the time and always spend more time with the a7iii. It's crazy how much work you need to do to get an a7iii to look accurate. But I usually end up matching them well after a long time grading. But the f3 picture is more pleasing to the eye. It's subtle. However, the F3 is very soft. I can't tell if is lite out of focus or just lower resolution sometimes. And it does suffer from moire and color shift towards clipping.
