It’s a video camera. In the hands of a seasoned professional operator, this camera is perfectly acceptable.

Thanks so much for your video. I have a question, I am looking to shoot some A footage but will need auto focus as the there will be a lot of run and shoot type images. Is there anyway to make this camera work ? Any autofocus that we can add with a lens while still keeping the cost down? Thanks!

Dragon sensor base ASA/ISO is 800. That will give you the best Dynamic Range for the camera and exposure. I have been shooting Dragon for 11 years. Still my go to camera. Absolutely love the 6k Dragon.

The image quality has me stunned! Especially around 2:12 when you are sitting down. I can tell this is even better than the FX6. But it lacks reliable autofocus, which I need. It's too bad because these are so cheap now.

What updates would you expect from a Sony FX9 II to better support your work?

I've always had an "old" used RED in the back of my head It drives me crazy that they locked down the media for that platform, it was revealed that they just use low end cheap consumer solid states and then rehouse them at a considerable mark up And the screen is also low spec at a considerable markup

I'm actually looking for some lenses for it at the moment. Is there any lens you can recommend outside of the kit 28-135mm for general shooting that isn't well known/ you were surprised using on this camera ?

I’ve just bought an FX9 for a bargain price. I worked for a camera rental house for 12 years and know my gear. You just need a BNC cable to sync the two cameras via timecode, set one as master and the other as slave. Don’t need an external device to sync them.

f3 is very magenta :(

6:42 the certain quality it has that the fx9 lacks is RAW, or to be more precise, the full color resolution of the sensor. Chroma resolution isn't immediately obvious to most people, but you'll definetly feel it if its not there. More emphasis is but on spatial resolution there days

I keep coming back to this video (very informative) because I'm thinking of going to an FS7 m2 away from FX30. Yes FX30 newer, but I don't like the DSLR system, and moving to FX6 means new lenses unless I want to shoot HD (I don't). FX9 to pricey for a hobbyist like me.

Did you shoot your fx9 in cine ei or in custom? if you're in cine EI, it will always record at the native ISO, the ei change is only in the viewfinder.

I just picked up the Sony 10-20mm F/4 PZ G lens and that is a perfect lens. That lens has the new focus motor in it that is much better for focus pulls, and it doesn't have vignetting and it's sharp.
