- That's right, my BK-1 Nerf AEG from manufacturer Chenghai: Zius broke after only 4 mags.
In this video I discuss the issues I had, plus some other downsides to this blaster.

It could definitely be interesting trying to mod this one though, instead of starting from "reliable, poor performance" as per branded Nerf gear, we're starting from "unreliable, mediocre performance", and instead of making the shell sleeker and more milsim, we're making it goofier and more toy-like.
It definitely doesn't stack up to its price point as an out-of-the-box competitive piece, but had it been affordable enough to compete with hasbro, I imagine we'd have been more forgiving of its failings.
Great video Brad, unfortunately the blaster just doesn't make sense to purchase as you pointed out, even if fully functional. Cost, performance, and appearance just put it into a niche that it can't stand up to on private fields. In arenas I've been to where 130 fps is max, it'd do okay, but not be any better than a common Spectrum that was lightly modded at a fraction of the price.
At the kind of distances 130fps cap plays at, I can't see this having any advantage over a flywheel blaster. Even if you upgraded the barrel length to fit rifling.
Disappointing, but hopefully the MK2 of this blaster is improved to have better reliability
Or perhaps there will be a Wasp M4 or something that is known to be good but in a more useful chassis.
Been seeing the bk1s online a lot recently. Seems to be a bit more reliable? Unfortunately has lots of black plastic so it’s a no-go for me.
Ouch! It's better to save more bucks just a bit for other nerf AEB such as Challenger MK3 or CW 76 than wasting on this one.. Thanks so much for this video anyways, Brad!

i have an old lipo modded Swarmfire. its also an AEG but with 20 dart "drum" and it's much more reliable. =)

Im getting one off my mate to open up and find the issue next week, possibly re wire and by pass all safety as we normally do.
And you are completely right, why buy this, mags and barrel, when the wasp is far off and a much better platform.
Considering this blaster has been out for around a year at this point inside China and the most people have managed to squeeze out of it is 180fps (with light weight darts or dragon darts) definitely don't see the point. But would be keen to hear what your results will be.

You would think after a yr, the issues would be solved.
To be honest I don't see a point in it also, smaller darts, cost of it, just too much trouble.
But out of curiosity, would be interesting to crack it open and see what's going on.

If only it came with a standard talon mag and maybe a few bright colour options, and of course didn't break. This blaster would be pretty cool!

Isecond about the very good customer service of zhenduo, I got the qwk edge from them alongside multiple accessories, the large battery pack was defective out of the box and they send me a replacement unit without any problems whatsoever
ya know the saying. A poor man always pays twice, its always best to spend a bit more of ya money on something that you know works and always do ya reseach. good one brad and putting the word out there, before more player waste their hard earned cash

4:38 Worker just switched their darts to 36mm length, there's an alleged second gen bk1 out and nobody on Taobao knows what's the difference.
That's probably a good move for Worker with all the new blasters from China requiring 36mm for some reason

God I hate customs
u have to flair our the barrel at the dart gate side even further to prevent dart feeding jams. mine works beautifully to the point where i upgraded the spring to m125, got a gel blaster bearing spring rest/guide, replaced the barrel with a longer aluminium one(23cm) where u then have to remove the barrel shell in order to accommodate at bearing rifling as well as to reduce it's real steel silhouette and finally replace battery with a tunigy airsoft lipo to provide the motor enough amps to prime the m125 spring. also replace the fuse with a 10amp one.
the motor is also loose and tends to rotate around in it's place which prevents the blaster from priming/pre-priming the blaster and cause the motor pinion gears to grind which is the only nylon part as the rest of the gears are metal. therefore u will have to insert the 2 missing screws on the motor face where the shaft is sticking out from and it's perfect.
for the low price u pay no doubt u have to put in effort to perfect/refine the blaster which is ideal for people with a tight budget.
also upon a jam u need to immediately turn off the pre-priming switch (forward position) to prevent the fuse from burning and also breaking/jamming the gearbox.
FPS? accuracy? maybe send your feedback to the company that produces it, so that they can start manufacturing a fixed version
A lot of time, money and effort to end with something that's still functionally worse than a stock Wasp 76.

average 185fps
20m range test on 1m x 1m target with bearing scar 12 degrees.
semi auto.
grouping of 1.5 feet from target center at all directions . 4mags used
any further than 20m will have to arc .
full auto is inconsistent ranging from 10m-15m distance only . grouping same as semi auto.4 mags used.
if your lipo voltage drops below 7.8v the blaster will occasionally have problems pre-priming as in compressing the spring and cathing it ready for next shot. you will hear the motor nylon pinion gear grinding. workaround is to immediately fire 1 shot. friends have advised to not use the pre-priming/ pre-cog function but the delay in firing is unbearable to some people.
I think that you can replace the fuse with one of 9amp that probably Solve the problem Im Austin
Possible, though all the fuses we have for gel blasters start at 10amp which are too large to fit without rewiring
I am not a Aeg User of Dart blaster and never trusted them one bit I am still Spring User for all times because I like Stealth and don't want any rev time, plus I need range My play style is Designated Marksman
Most AEG do not have a "rev time" as they are functionally the same as springers.
@@BradleyPhillipsYT mostly I'm more similar to like you Brad your role is Sniper but I'm both Sniper and Assaulter, so I keep using My Heavy reinforced longshot that I have built using worker 18kg spring (200 fps), and Caliburn (295 fps)
