I stopped wearing pants about 2 years ago for personal reasons, I never liked how the looked on me so I just completely gave them all to charity and started wearing skirts and dresses only, I don’t like tight fitting clothes or low cut or anything shorter than my knees as they don’t feel right on me, I’ve only had a few people give me a negative comment but I tell them I dress for myself and for my husband

Also to everyone else in regards to wearing/not wearing pants, it's about your walk with Jesus and if He is convicting you to wear only skirts,/dresses then you should do it. At the end of the day it's about obedience to Him. If you're convicted to do something you should obey so long as it lines up with His Word. Please let's not make this a point of contention. For those shooting down her decision to wear pants because you don't think the Bible specifies this please understand that a conviction is a conviction. I have recently also felt this conviction after 38 years of hardly ever wearing dresses. I got baptized last year and convictions have been laid on my heart one after another since slightly before that. Each conviction, when follow, has led to a very positive life change for me. I can't deny that it is a conviction. When you know, you know. If you don't have this conviction then live and let live. But to those who do feel this conviction....when has it ever been a good idea to turn away from a God given conviction? I have 40 more pounds to lose on my weight loss journey or I would go get dresses right now as budget allows but, as it is, buying new clothes at this point would be a waste of money. In about 5 months I can start shopping. Meanwhile, I can workout the money issue that enevitably comes when you lose a ton of weight and have to buy a whole new wardrobe anyway.
I love this video - modesty is beautiful! It has been a lifestyle for 63 years which I love! I appreciate the beauty of the uncompromising standard being upheld in our Church of God congregation (in NC) & the beautiful examples of saved sisters who make modesty look attractive. I encourage you - your channel is very inspiring!
Modesty is overall a heart condition.. making it too legalistic worries me, but at the end of the day, it will vary based on the individual conviction - you said God convicted you there, so for you I think that is great 💜
This has been something I've really been struggling with but I know the Lord keeps nudging me to wear skirts and dresses. Please pray for me! I did not grow up this way. Also, I want to approach my daughter about this but I'm unsure how. She's almost 16. By the way, I'm also a homeschooling mom! We have 5. Two of them are married and in college. Will do! I also did not grow up wearing skirt but the Lord convicted me as I heard the word go forth and the Lord helped me to put the pants away gradually and today i dont own a single pair! Praise God! He will do the same for you! And pray before you talk to her the Lord will lead you on what to say and how to say it! Wow that's so awesome you have 5 and want more! I am a homeschool mom of two. At 38 years old I can count on one hand how many times I have worn a dress! But I have felt this conviction also. I am in a weightloss journey now and will hopefully hit my goal in 5.5 months. At that time I need to buy all new clothing so I plan on buying dresses and skirts instead of jeans and shorts. It's going to be a culture shock. I have talked to my family about it also. We all agree it is going to take a bit getting used to but that I should do it if I feel I should. So I am also working on this journey and praying for confidence that I don't back down.
Shalom, MOST High in Christ bless! I just found your channel. The topic caught my eye. I stopped wearing pants for two years also. I never did most of my childhood and early teens. I did started when I was about seventeen or so. I came to the Lord at 16. I am 48 now. After finding out that we ladies should not do so about two years ago and that it is a commandment of the Most High, (Deuteronomy 22:5) I stopped and it is one of the best decisions I've ever made. The Most High wants His daughters to be modestly dressed and more importantly, being obedient to Him. I also started wearing the head wraps also. Basically no make up, and not a lot of things that would bring attention to myself to be noticed in the wrong way. I am noticed but because of the modest way of how I'm dressed. I love being covered this I did since I was a child thought out my entire life, and love embracing our true heritage as an Israelite!!! Women wearing pants was conspired by a certain government group to infliltrate the black woman that she can be equal to the man; and thus our women started wearing pants, along with other things. It was all by design. It was the devil, but you would be surprised to know who that devil is. Be encouraged sis! By the way, your skin is gorgeous!

I made a cute jean skirt that I want to advertise and sell to believing women who are looking for modest apparel. I’ve been born again for about 6 months but the lord has been tugging on my heart for about a year and a few months. When my heart was truly changed I was convicted on the way I dress. I am a petite woman so it’s extremely hard to find modest apparel that fits me and are still nice looking. Women stopped wearing skirts and head coverings when the feminist movement really took over in the 1960s. We live in a modern society where feminism is pushed, but The Lord called us to be Holy and Set apart and that’s where we are called to do. Thank You for obeying the Holy Spirt and being an inspiration to younger women as myself. What state are you in if you don’t mind me asking?
Great explanation and testimony of your Godly decision to NOT wear pants. Your testimony helped me to better understand my conflict of wearing dresses instead of pants. The historical reference was also helpful in proving that our society has confused the heart and mind of women. Whereas, I grew up in a church organization that taught us to wear dresses, however as time progressed the church became for lenient and allowed women to wear pants. According to the Word, God does not want women to dress in a way that will pertain to a man, because it will cause confusion in our society. Pray and ask God! When i started out I only had pants and by and by I began to buy 1 dress here and 1 skirt there whenever I could until eventually my closet was full of skirts and dresses. Then I throw out my pants and anything that offended God. Sometimes I would turn some of them into skirts. God is able to help you! Seek Him!
A friend of mine brought me to Goodwill when I was losing weight rapidly and had to get new sizes often. I had never considered shopping there before. Three years later, it's my go‐to place for clothing. These clothes had previous owners, so always pray when shopping. Let the Lord lead you on which items to get. There is one store that each item is $2.00. You can get beautiful pieces for a reasonable price.
I am in the same boat, except, I am also in a journey to lose 50 pounds (40 more to go) so I can't just go buy new clothes that won't fit me in a few months....I don't have the money to right now either. So I am planning 5 months out. Have my dressed picked on Amazon. Am asking for Amazon gift cards for mothers day and I will buy what I can with them and anything else I have saved up. I am looking for casual maxi and midi skirts. No v neck and no sleevless....I rarely ever went sleeveless anyway. I have 5 months to rearrange my Amazon basket and think on what I want to buy and 5 months to wrap my head around this life change that likely will leave me slightly culture shocked for a bit. Give yourself some time to think on this life change and digest it....sometimes that alone is a big part of the process. I tell myself that Christ died on the cross for me....the least I can do is wear a dress. Now don't get me wrong...I don't think a dress is a salvation issue but I feel thar conviction and know it's right to follow those convictions.
I thank God for you obedience for me i had a dream and so a bright light i new it was Jesus i was wearing a pants in the dream and he asked me to take it off if i want to come close to him. After the dream i stopped wearing pants. Thank you Jesus for saving me.

I agree with distinguishing man from woman and dresses being more womanly and feminine.. I think men should not wear dresses . . But pants could be for either as long as they are not confusing - there are pants made for women and made for men, they are different cuts and looks.
The Lord is bringing me on this journey as well. I had the same thoughts as you. As I continued seeking Him, He caused me to think about it in a different way. When we look back at history, it wasn't an automatic thing for women to wear pants...they had to fight for it. Those that choose to do it before it was "acceptable" were considered rebellious. They fought to have the right to wear pants like men. They won. This fight is similar to other fights that are occurring in our society today. Even now we have High Schools asking that girls wear dresses to graduation and some are fighting to wear pants. The fact that it took a rebellious fight to wear them and there continues to be a fight concerning them made me really wonder, are they as innocent as they seem, or is it more to the wearing of pants that meets the eye. Continue to let the Lord talk to your heart about this matter as I will. Just as our Lord Jesus said, nevertheless, not my will, but your will be done.

Beautiful testimony ☺🧡, but I have a question about modesty.... I've been thinking about dressing modestly recently and I feel like the Lord is bringing it back to my remembrance for a reason.. I've thought about it and a few years ago (in my early late teens/20's) I did try to change into a more modest style of dressing and I did it for about 2 days lol ( I'm a daily work in progress praise the Lord 🧡) but I know at that time I wasn't truly taking it seriously..... But as of recently it's come back to my mind to began wearing skirts more so my question is how do I know if it's just my own thoughts in me just wanting to change my appearance, or if it's that the Holy Spirit is leading me to do this? 😊 I wanted to ask if you be so kind to just keep me lifted up in prayer just that the Lord would show me that's it's truly His leading me into doing this? Well you know Paul said there is no good thing dwelling on our flesh so if you are being led to do something good/spiritual then that's from the Holy Spirit because it was God's word that said women ought to dress in modest apparel so then the Holy Spirit will be the one to give us the desire to do it. So in your opinion, should it be illegal for women to wear pants? Also, where does the Bible say it's sin for a woman to wear pants? The verse you cited is and Old Testament mosaic law that doesn't apply to Christians. It's not part of the moral law. The verse is command to the Israelites, not Christians. Also, none of the people back then wore pants. They wore robes. So I don't feel that the verse actually has anything to do with pants, since those are modern thing.
The law is where we get the ten commandments...do we not follow them because they are in the law? The point of the scripture is that God wanted a distinction between male and female even some he told back then to wear breeches...also the scripture said it's an abomination...in Revelation 21:8 those that are abominable will have their part in the lake of fire. God was saying whatever distinguish a man from a woman whether its back then or now. So nowadays they are making men dresses...do we say it’s a modern thing let the men wear dresses. If it's okay for woman to wear pants then it should be okay for a man to wear a dress. But of course, no one wants to see a man in a dress. This subject takes the Holy Spirit to reveal it to us what's right and what's not right according to God’s word. Although we are not under the law Paul said it was our school master because it taught us the righteousness of God so we follow the righteousness contained in the law. @@homewithsisMeika Yes, the Ten Commandments apply, though the rule in the Old Testament about women not wearing men's clothes and men not wearing women's clothes isn't part of the the Ten Commandments, and isn't repeated in the New Testament. That rule is specific to the Israelites. The same part of the Old Testament also says not to wear mixed fabrics and not to eat pork or shellfish. You'd need to follow those rules too, in order to be consistent.

This specific scripture was not specific to the Isrealites...then the ten commandments should be also. It also talks about if a man lie with another man its an abomination..it doesnt say that in the new testament but is it still not right? @@homewithsisMeika My main concern is if you're trying to make it illegal for women to wear pants. If you're not trying to make it illegal, I still disagree but I don't care. No, the actual original Greek text of Timothy there says every creation, not "creature". If every creature was good to eat, that would mean people could even eat each other. Even so, this still doesn't address that the same part of the Old Testament also says not to wear more than one fabrics. That scripture and the scripture you cited are all specifically for the Israelites. I've looked it up and almost all Christian scholars agree that the verse you cited is specific to the Israelites, just like the verses about not wearing mixed fabrics, not eating pork and shelfish, etc. My other point though is that even if that verse is still part of the law, everyone from the time period wore robes. Pants didn't exist, so the verse can't be used to definitively say that pants are a sin.
i believe in 1 Corinthians 11:15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering. 16 But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God. He told them to judge within themselves is it customary? Back then yes, it might have been customary. So, they may have worn them. But Paul is stating here that there is NO such custom in the church of God. Then he said her hair shall be her covering. If any woman wants to wear an extra covering I believe that's between her and God.
It is the blood of Jesus alone that saves us---not our works, not our dress. The Scripture you read is about not wearing the clothes of the other gender, but even the men at that time wore robes (dresses?) as do men in some cultures today. It is not the "pants" that make us sinful, but trying to disguise oneself as the opposite gender, which is why there is a big push for gender confusion today.

When we look back at history, it wasn't an automatic thing for women to wear pants...they had to fight for it. Those that choose to do it before it was "acceptable" were considered rebellious. They fought to have the right to wear pants like men. They won. This fight is similar to other fights that are occurring in our society today. Even now we have High Schools asking that girls wear dresses to graduation and some are fighting to wear pants.
The fact that it took a rebellious fight to wear them and there continues to be a fight concerning them made me really wonder, are they as innocent as they seem, or is it more to the wearing of pants that meets the eye. Continue to let the Lord talk to your heart about this matter as I will. Just as our Lord Jesus said, nevertheless, not my will, but your will be done.

I been pray to God. I had the this dream alter I walk into Walmart and found d $1 skirts and dresses on clearance. I took it as a sing that I must obey the Lord so I stop wearing pants.

Beautiful testimony ☺🧡, but I have a question about modesty.... I've been thinking about dressing modestly recently and I feel like the Lord is bringing it back to my remembrance for a reason.. I've thought about it and a few years ago (in my early late teens/20's) I did try to change into a more modest style of dressing and I did it for about 2 days lol ( I'm a daily work in progress praise the Lord 🧡) but I know at that time I wasn't truly taking it seriously..... But as of recently it's come back to my mind to began wearing skirts more so my question is how do I know if it's just my own thoughts in me just wanting to change my appearance, or if it's that the Holy Spirit is leading me to do this? 😊 I wanted to ask if you be so kind to just keep me lifted up in prayer just that the Lord would show me that's it's truly His leading me into doing this? Well you know Paul said there is no good thing dwelling on our flesh so if you are being led to do something good/spiritual then that's from the Holy Spirit because it was God's word that said women ought to dress in modest apparel so then the Holy Spirit will be the one to give us the desire to do it. Also, where does the Bible say it's sin for a woman to wear pants? The verse you cited is and Old Testament mosaic law that doesn't apply to Christians. It's not part of the moral law. The verse is command to the Israelites, not Christians. Also, none of the people back then wore pants. They wore robes. So I don't feel that the verse actually has anything to do with pants, since those are modern thing.
The law is where we get the ten commandments...do we not follow them because they are in the law? The point of the scripture is that God wanted a distinction between male and female even some he told back then to wear breeches...also the scripture said it's an abomination...in Revelation 21:8 those that are abominable will have their part in the lake of fire. God was saying whatever distinguish a man from a woman whether its back then or now. So nowadays they are making men dresses...do we say it’s a modern thing let the men wear dresses. If it's okay for woman to wear pants then it should be okay for a man to wear a dress. But of course, no one wants to see a man in a dress. This subject takes the Holy Spirit to reveal it to us what's right and what's not right according to God’s word. Although we are not under the law Paul said it was our school master because it taught us the righteousness of God so we follow the righteousness contained in the law. Yes, the Ten Commandments apply, though the rule in the Old Testament about women not wearing men's clothes and men not wearing women's clothes isn't part of the the Ten Commandments, and isn't repeated in the New Testament. That rule is specific to the Israelites. The same part of the Old Testament also says not to wear mixed fabrics and not to eat pork or shellfish. You'd need to follow those rules too, in order to be consistent.

This specific scripture was not specific to the Isrealites...then the ten commandments should be also. It also talks about if a man lie with another man its an abomination..it doesnt say that in the new testament but is it still not right? No, the actual original Greek text of Timothy there says every creation, not "creature". If every creature was good to eat, that would mean people could even eat each other. Even so, this still doesn't address that the same part of the Old Testament also says not to wear more than one fabrics. That scripture and the scripture you cited are all specifically for the Israelites. I've looked it up and almost all Christian scholars agree that the verse you cited is specific to the Israelites, just like the verses about not wearing mixed fabrics, not eating pork and shelfish, etc. My other point though is that even if that verse is still part of the law, everyone from the time period wore robes. Pants didn't exist, so the verse can't be used to definitively say that pants are a sin.

He told them to judge within themselves is it customary? Back then yes, it might have been customary. So, they may have worn them. But Paul is stating here that there is NO such custom in the church of God. Then he said her hair shall be her covering. If any woman wants to wear an extra covering I believe that's between her and God.

It is the blood of Jesus alone that saves us---not our works, not our dress. The Scripture you read is about not wearing the clothes of the other gender, but even the men at that time wore robes (dresses?) as do men in some cultures today. It is not the "pants" that make us sinful, but trying to disguise oneself as the opposite gender, which is why there is a big push for gender confusion today.
The verse still says not to wear anything that pertains to a man, so even though what you said seems to make sense, we must rely only on the Bible.
