@@OnTheWaySoon Paul clearly states (1st Corinthians 8:9) - But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to them that are weak ... *Which I take to mean "Just because you can do something, does not mean you should".
Yes, but don't be a stumbling block in clothing on either side, right? Being purposely seductive or overly self-promoting are things that the spirit convicts us of, but outwardly wearing attire that is made for a woman (even pants) that isn't sinful. At least that is the truth I've been led to. I don't feel convicted to wear only dresses/skirts. I do feel highly convicted to be cautious about wearing clothing that may lead to a man feeling lustful or myself feeling worldly and/or proud. I may be wrong but the Holy Spirit hasn't convicted me otherwise, yet, though. -Rachelle
Both Christian men and women should dress modestly. When the outfit is not modest, the men distract the women, and the women distract the men. It's an "equal opportunity offender."
I can't remember if first Peter says any specifics on modesty but not flaunting wealth and social status seemed to be the instruction. Plated hair was seen as a wealthy thing. Both Peter and Jesus didnt seem to like showing social status. Jesus washed his apostles' feet bringing himself to task of a serf.
True, God looks at the heart. But you know the outward appearance is a reflection of what is in our heart. For instance, a lady wears a revealing dress, what other reason is she wearing it other to flaunt her skin and feminine build up, knowing fully well it's wrong because Christ said that if you do something that'll cause your brother to sin, you're committing a sin as well. If she truly has the Holy Spirit, he'll lead her into all truth
My personal conviction is that, a little while ago, maybe 2 years into my being saved, I felt like wanted to dress more modestly and more feminine. Mostly because i struggled with comprehending what God wanted from me from that verse. But also the Corinthians verse about wearing a head covering. I asked Him to help confirm what to do about the head covering and then I came across a video about it. Now I wear one. Its not restricting at all. Its not covering my whole head like muslims wear. Theyre so cute too! I have them in different colors to match different dresses and skirts I have. I found it hard to get used to at first. Especially with scarfs i tried to wear that did cover my whole hair. But i find peace in wearing them. I like the symbolism of it- being submissive. I enjoy it and the way I o dress gets noticed by people. They'd ask what my faith is and i understand now that its an opportunity to talk about God. People really notice how we act and present outselves which ive learnt too. I'm in no way feeling forced nor trying to force anyone, just wanted to share my own story :D
I like you, feel that way , but God may not ask someone else to do this. God speaks to each of us. Don't let anyone tell you what you feel is right for you as long as it doesn't go against God's word.
Re-read the scripture about a head covering. It is a woman's long hair that is her covering. If she cuts it she may as well shave herself bald. Her long hair is her head cover. Same scripture says a man should cut his. Long hair has no place on a man's head. He doesn't need long hair for a head cover.
@Valentinesash I have to say that I know what you are talking about. For me I see the scariest part of all. JESUS said it is going to be like in the days of Noah. You see in the day of Noah; all they could think about is doing nothing but evil. Now, does that seem like what is happing today? Go with GOD my friend.
"God looks at the heart, yes we should dress modestly." What do you mean by that? God sees Do you believe in the Bible, do you wear men's clothes, if you don't obey, the hell waiting for you. Womens have a lots of sins therefore reason why satan loves them. I have to mention about women sins in spite of false christians.
@Valentinesash Galatians 5:19-21 (BBE) Now the works of the flesh are clear, which are these: evil desire, unclean things, wrong use of the senses, Worship of images, use of strange powers, hates, fighting, desire for what another has, angry feelings, attempts to get the better of others, divisions, false teachings, Envy, uncontrolled drinking and feasting, and such things: of which I give you word clearly, even as I did in the past, that they who do such things will have no part in the kingdom of God. In this verse it is clear that to enter the kingdom of God you must stay away from these things, not about the clothes
Always read and meditate from the Holy Scripture. I'm bad for just following youtube, but you have to read The Word. It will open your eyes. I'm not saying Christian channels are bad, but we need to understand the Holy Word .
@ValentinesashAs long as men and women wear clothes well and politely, it's not a problem. Women must know what clothes they wear as women, and men must also know what clothes they wear as men
@@KeyAndLock77 not necessarily. Some women's slacks are loose enough for the ladies to be comfortable in and thus... not as revealing as you make them all out to be.
@@KeyAndLock77 yoga pants made from spandex, definitely leaves little to nothing hidden. Some guys wear that as well . Since it's that clingy, if it weren't for its elasticity, it is not something worthwhile to wear. Hollywood began having their actors use outfits of this material to enhance their physique in action/superhero roles. It's immodest and inappropriate for people to walk around in public dressed as if they're naked or trying to encourage attraction & attention to themselves, which can sometimes lead to undesirable reactions toward them.
I don't feel convicted by God wearing pants as long as thier not revealing. But some churches really condem wearing any type of pants. I feel like they look at you like your a sinner. And that's not right . I'm sure there are women who wear dresses but thier heart is far from God .
@helloitsjules Pants were made because they cover your body, and they do not get in the way when you are trying to do hard work, or engage in athletic events. They are practical for everyday wear. Dresses are not, not unless they are shorter, and you wear leggings underneath them in case of a fall or something. Dresses do show the outline of your body, stopping basically at the hips, including "flowy" dresses. The only dresses that do not are baggy dresses, such as jean jumpers, which are ugly. Loose pants, or loose-fitting pants are not baggy, or at least they do not have to be. Baggy pants are often too big for a person, and have to be held on with a belt. They look sleezy, and ugly. Loose-fitting pants can be elegant, if the correct material and design are used. They are designed to fit at the waist, and get looser from about the hip downward. Nobody likes baggy pants except for use in hard and dirty labor; like baggy dresses, they are ugly.
@helloitsjules God does not ask women to wear ugly clothes. There are nice slacks that are not baggy. You should use correct terminology. I am referring to floor-length dresses when I say they show your figure. Any dress with drape shows figure. It may not show your legs, but that's not the same thing as your figure. And wearing dresses with long skirts is a massive inconvenience when you are doing hard work. I have tried it. It hampers your movements, slows you down, and makes work very difficult. If you fall, it can be very immodest. If your skirts falls under your feet while you are lefting heavy items, it can be very difficult to unstick the skirt. I would never wear a skirt for rock-climbing. That's extremely dangerous. You would run a good chance of stepping on your skirt and slipping, even if the skirt was only knee-length, and besides that, a skirt while climbing is even less modest than pants! Jesus and his disciples wore robes, yes, because long, loose-fitting clothing is appropriate for hot, arid climates. You might stop to note that when men, at least, worked in those robes, they tucked them up into their belts, or stripped their outer robes off completely, as Jesus did when he washed his disciple's feet. Finally, God does not say that women should wear dresses, or robes, nor do the dresses or robes or pants have to be baggy - loose-fitting, perhaps, but not baggy. And slacks are defined as modest apparel. Shorts can be modest also. I do not think skinny jeans are good, but I can't see in scripture where the Bible says that your clothes must be a certain looseness, or ugly, or that you must wear a dress. Loose-fitting clothing does not have to be baggy, and form-fitting clothing does not have to be revealing.
Great message. I knew this one woman (who calls herself a Christian) several years ago who focused more on her looks, putting her security in wearing a lot of makeup and wanted me to follow her lead. She knew perfectly well that I cared more about my relationship with God rather than how I look, and she didn't like it one bit.
oh heavens she needs to chill out!! i wear makeup when i go out n meet friends, play sports, go shopping etc, but i DONT get tense if the others dont wear any, which is the vast majority of them. could they b better looking if they did? definitely! and some have told me they think im beautiful. but im really a plain jane that looks good with makeup on. either way is fine, as long as u dont look like a hooker. ha ha!
She was holding you back from drawing closer to God? Wow! The Bible has LOTS to say about False Sheep! They are actually ferocious wolves! Many folks say they are Christian, but Jesus says Many will call Him Lord...but He will tell them to depart from Him. They are heading to hell. Matthew 7:21-23 1Tim 5:6 Jude 1:4 ~ Prayers that our Lord will cause her to repent and live for Him! 🙏
My conviction when it comes to clothes: No jeans, no sleeveless tops, no too short of skirts...no revealing of much skin. I am well covered in modern day clothing and keep everything simple.
Dear Sir, any attire worn should be chosen to cover the body modestly and decently giving respect to God and honour to the people one meets. A pant or a dress should be loose fitting covering the vulnerable honourable parts of the woman with loose tops ,or over coats ,stoles, frills and sufficiently long tops over pants. Women who desire to give regard to Holy God and dignity to the people she is meeting, so that they respect her, she is a woman professing faith in a Holy God. In church , work place, recreation, road ,shopping ,study centers or home, it is good to be modest and well covered and feel comfortable beautiful and relaxed in modest attire. It is good for pastors and ministers and elders to teach this. God sees what one projects in ones attire which is reflective of ones heart. God does not look at external height weight colour beauty but does certainly look at the attitude of modesty and decency displayed in attire. Remember God first clothed Adam and Eve with thick clothes of animal skin from top to toe to cover properly in dignity and decency. Covering is first giving regard and honour to God and then to fellow people and of course keep the lust of the devil being aroused in weak minds or provoking disgust and anger in divine minds. Thank you for this video but request to make it more strong in urging to decent dressing. Men and women to encourage one another to be decent.
@@joyoflife8782 ~ I agree with much of what you wrote, however, "Top to toe" in animal skins ... So, basically a Burka of Animal Skins? Trust me, I DEFINITELY believe in modesty, and I am very, very concerned about how many women dress these days, even at church! I think if we go by SCRIPTURE, and dress modest, we will please God in our attire. Some Helpful Hints would be hems that are at the knee or lower, no low necklines, no cleavage showing, nothing body-hugging or tight (i.e. leggings or skinny jeans, but dresses too). And asking ourselves "Would I be comfortable meeting Almighty God in this outfit if He were to appear before me today?" God bless you sister 📖
I'm sure Jesus would have understood your concerns...but to be realistic w/the tunics/robes of his day, food to feed the family was probably on the minds of these people, and would chuckle at our petty thoughts.
My way to decency. Part. 2. Because I wasn't strong enough in the sum of His Word and His Holy Spirit, and yet hadn't understood the meaning of Godliness and Holiness, that God is Holy and He wanted me to be likewise both inwardly and outwardly, it went some more years until I had an huge WAKE up call! That's 20 years+ ago now and at that time I was living as a big hypocrite, a sinful and unholy life as a "Christian". One glorious day, mine eyes got wide open, and I could finally see that I was a big hypocrite who needed to wholeheartedly repent, and plea for mercy and forgiveness! Abba Father forgave me once again, cleansed me with the precious Blood of the Lamb, and gave me a brand new chance to start all over again! HalleluYah! 🎼🎻🎹🆙⬆️🎶🎼😊Amazing Grace above all!!! 🌈 After this event, I soon started to dress decent again, with full length dresses&skirts and I was completely satisfied with it, and it's the same today. 😊 I started to cover my head again on a permanent basis for 9 years ago. I'm stronger in the sum of the Word today than back then, and I know that I'm dressing in a Biblical way, to honor my Savior, and to not be a temptation for my brothers in the Lord (or other men), etc. So, if you're a saved and born again woman and don't dress decent yet, please read this testimony once again while you are praying, and I pray that the Holy Spirit will convince you and teach you, to start to dress in a way which will please Him, and not grieve Him, as I believe you love the Lord with all your heart, and that you only want to honor Him in all you do. 😊 May the Lord's peace and grace be with you. Warm regards from Norway 🇳🇴 🌻 🌼 🌸 🤗 🌸 🌼 🌻
I like this approach. I would, however, like to point out that people often say GOD looks at the heart. Yes HE does and HE sees how you drees very well to go meet a government official or for a wedding, but when it's church all of a sudden GOD looks at the heart. When we dress, we dress according to the value we attach to the function we are going to, so how is it that Church is not as important as the government official or w wedding? Please explain that with scriptural evidence....
You bring up a point that I’ve often thought about. People (women especially) dress differently when going to a special event. But often I see those same women dressing sloppy at church. That always gives me pause to think.
The Bible doesn't mention pants or trousers, and from anything I've read, men dressed in robes so at what point did somebody decide that pants were a man's item of apparel?
Exactly. I also asked that question on a couple of channels that talked about this topic. Back then, practically everyone wore "dresses", both men and women. Who and when decided that men should wear pants and women should wear skirts? Also in history, men were the first to start with make-up, heels, hairstyles, etc. 🤷🏻♀️
My way to decency. Part. 1. This testimony is first of all to all the women who are saved and born again. When I was 20 years old (over 35 years ago), I lived together with some Danish missionaries in Greece for some months, helping out with looking after some of the children, cooking and washing dishes and clothes etc. When I traveled with them, I had to dress decent with full length dresses&skirts and cover the head, and I was satisfied with that, in so much that it became natural to me. After I had lived in Greece for an half year, I (unfortunately) got "homesick" and went back to Norway again. I continued to dress decent etc., even if very few of the other young (and elderly) women did it, because I felt comfortable with it and was considering that it was Biblical to do so. We were 3 young women from a congregation who shared one apartment together, and the dad of one of them, came to visit me one day. I had deep respect for him and his opinions, but I know that in this case I shouldn't have listened to him, cause he managed to talk me out of my decent behavior, telling me that "it wasn't the will of God that I should dress like that, or not cut my hair short or use headcover, cause God want you to be free." What a bunch of lies he told me, but unfortunately I chose to believe in him, and I stopped dressing decently, I cut my hair and didn't use headcover anymore. Even if I know today that the Lord has forgiven me for this, I still feel sorrow 😔 when I think about how I grieved His Holy Spirit. I remember that I felt sorrow inside me immediately when I did what I did back then, but I felt like it was no turning back. Little by little after I had done this, I slowly started to go back to the world again! Exactly what the enemy wanted to obtain. So, I was back in the "pigsty" again for a while, until I heard the Lord calling me back to Him, and I came "crawling" back.
I’m 79 and must use a walker to get around. Skirts easily get caught in the wheels. I wear feminine pants and tops out of necessity. In the Bible days both men and women wore robes. I’m sure there were some subtle differences but basically they both wore robes.
Does the Bible really say they wore the same type garment, I would like to know what verse teaches that, because as far as the scripture goes there is a garment that we are not supposed to wear, which one is it then if everyone wore dresses back then.
Bless you my sister. I believe God is a logical God. He knows our reasons and our hearts. They did both wear robes maybe w subtle differences like women and men’s pants.
@@wendymtzc most people wore like dresses, we now this historically, but just because they both were dresses doesn't mean they were the same garments, no there designs were definitely different, men's skirts were shorter whilst women's skirts were longer and bigger.
I've been looking for casual sundresses online and many are so short they're like a large t shirt or have holes in the sides or show off too much cleavage. I just want a nice casual dress I could lounge in or do housework in or even wear to work.

Tie the back ties in front and the front ties in back, and hide the ties under the skirt. There are tutorials on yt.

@Valentinesash like I said. Those are men made traditions. God is Holy and he makes no exceptions. Women who wear pants are cross dressers in the eyes of God. People are falling into hell because of culture. Men should not be wearing skirts. Kilts or what you want to call it it’s all an abomination to the Lord when women wear what pertaineth to a man and a a wear what pertaineth to a woman. Women never used to wear pants. Satan slowly made it this a normal thing.
Years ago on a college campus a young man and a young woman were wildly speaking on this and condemning any female wearing slacks. They claimed women should dress according to Biblical standards. I noticed the young man was not wearing the long robes worn by men of Jesus’ day. Chuckle.
as a woman whom wears pants on times i don’t need to dress up on occasions but when i do dress up i will wear a dress when nessessary like for example a wedding, a fancy restaurant and such even though when i “personally” dress up for something like going to a fancy restaurant but admits i wear blue jean pants with a floral top and flats for example. i’m normally a very casual dress type person unless i have to dress up for a fancy restaurant, wedding or funeral like i mentioned for example. thank you for touching on this particular subject i really appreciate your honesty you as a man bringing up this particular subject on women and how we should dress.
I agree 100% that the verse not wearing what pertains to a man and vice versa is the principle of not trying to look like the opposite sex. That being said, there ARE several instances where pants ARE mentioned in the Bible -- as undergarments -- and they're ONLY worn by men-- and those men are the priests serving in the temple. Exodus 28:42; 39:28; Leviticus 6:10; 16:4; Ezekiel 44:18. If I'm in an activity where something can be exposed, I wear pants. Sometimes I wear them because I just want to, but for me that's not the norm. Personally, I find long skirts to be much more comfortable, and COOLER in the summer. And the fashion industry seems to cater to a woman's body to make pants " more flattering" to a woman's shape, which in some cases defeats the whole purpose of pants being modest. But this is just one woman's opinion and MY choice.
I completely agree! We all really need to know Gods word and make our own decisions in life. So may times throughout history the church and man wavers off the charts. Read the Bible and know what’s right for yourself.
I really do not think that a woman wearing pants matters much to God. It is your faith and worship of Jesus that matters. Some people take things to far
I agree. People are misconstruing how the clothing is worn and with what intent. Men wore robes in ancient times but there was still a distinction between the garments women and men wore between adornments and styles that was understood which belonged to which sex. I'm also appalled at how people are strictly focusing on women wearing pants and form fitting clothing but aren't addressing men wearing tight tee shirts or pants to show off their muscles for what reason? It's a two way street and people are forcefully jamming it into a one way street. What about people who live in pajamas? How is that presentable?
Modest and practical. I love dresses, but in the icy cold Winter, I am restricted to pants. I try on warmer days to put on a dress, but my legs are freezing! So I love when its warm enough to wear my pretty dresses, dread the cold and sweatpants, but always dress modest. I have my clothes, bought in the ladies section. And my husband has his clothes bought in the men's section. We don't wear each other's clothes. Ladies buy modest clothing from the ladies section. There are certain jeans that are made for women only. I always buy 2 sizes bigger so the jeans can fit modestly in the icy cold Winter.
I am a new Christian woman and I feel like I’ve become a lot more modest in my dressing, however I feel like I have to wrestle with a Jezebel spirit that is living inside of me. I still get hung up ony looks and maybe bc the people around me aren’t Christians, I am still constantly comparing myself and feel like I still have this ego of not wanting to be left behind, but I know that’s not what Christ wants. Its a struggle for me and I wish that wasn’t the case 😢 I believe it comes from deep childhood trauma of not feeling loved or seen
Lust is of the flesh and some people might be more lustful than others but everyone has it. The Lord Jesus was tempted in anyway so He must've defeated that too for us! Some people recognise it as a problem others not. The world is exposed to a lot of nakedness and perversion and that makes it very difficult for people who recognise lust as a problem and are wrestling with it. What might be helpful for some men is if ladies try to avoid clothing which puts emphasis on or reveals the shape of their body. Not saying that they need to be dressed like muslim women but I think conscience might be sufficient to tell you what is modest and what is not. Not being legalistic but just for some clue tight pants and short skirts I don't really see as modest clothing in the western culture. Unfortunately there are barely any Christian women who understand that to give examples and some guidance to the younger ones.
A couple of verses come to mind for me. "Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm." Proverbs 13:20 NIV "Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.” 1 Corinthians 15:33 NIV It is difficult to swim against the current (behave differently from your friends). It is not impossible to keep to God's way in that environment, but know that you will grow tired if they constantly pressure you to go with the flow of Culture and its current values, rather than what God knows and has told us that is better for our souls. I'm not saying that you should ditch your friends, but simply be very mindful of how much time you're spending with them, and if you're surrounding yourself with others who uphold God's values as well. ❤ Stay strong sister. You're valuable because our God created you, not whether you do things the culture pressures you to do.
Sister, you’ll know the convictions of the Holy Spirit when the Lord gives them to you. Follow His commandments and obey Him and His Holy Spirit will lead and guide you.
What about the Christian men? Why is it only women who are preached at about being modest? Men get off so easily, they are not targeted for their clothing or hair or appearance!
I'm a Christian man in my 30s and found a traditional/Gospel Bible based church this year and have started wearing suits, sport coats, and dress pants again. I instantly felt more masculine! I love women who wear skirts and dresses at the knee or lower, they look feminine and modest!

Thank you Daniel for explaining it. I only wear pants for women; but I was getting a lot of backlash for wearing pants in the church. What society deems as men’s clothes is men’s clothes and vice versa as well. The intention behind wanting to wear what a man has and does is what God is looking at in us. He wants us to be who He designed us to be. Men be men and women be women. 😊
I was raised fundamentalist baptist so only dresses and skirts were allowed. However, growing up there were two reasons we avoided pants as women: its considered more masculine and a lot of pants are form fitting and show the contours of the legs, butt, and thighs. If only the second reason concerns you I'd argue that sweat pants are fine since they don't hug the body. Baggy or loose clothing was preferred at my church growing up.
I wear pants, im a live-in carer and spend a lot of my day bending over and lifting. I honestly cant imagine coming before God and he talks about what i wore in this life 🤷♂️
Nothing wrong with wearing pants, but most women's jeans are designed to fit tight. They're made to show off a woman's posterior, and that's not exactly a good thing. That's what the guy means. There's a lot of other types of pants that are comfortable and aren't tight.
@@butt3rcatskinny jeans or tight fitting jeans are the problem but if they are not tight fitting then it shouldn't be a problem. I work also and I have to wear pants to work. If I do wear a skirt or dress it has to be below the knee or preferably mid-calf and also not tight fitting.
@@Faithandseekerofchrist I'm not saying that loose fitting jeans are the problem though. If it covers you well, then it's a good thing. Also, God judges what's in your heart. Most women wear tight clothes for male attention or to show off their body to feel good about themselves. Of course God isn't gonna be happy with you doing it for your pride or for lustful looks. Clothes that aren't tight enough to show off your body, but still fit is what most Christians recommend. We're not saying that you can't wear pants, we're saying that tight jeans, leggings, and really short shorts aren't something you should be wearing if you don't wanna attract attention. (I misread your comment. My bad, but my point still stands)
Thank you for approaching the women pretending to be men and vice versa, it is a subject many religious people avoid that in fear of being judged by men! The judgment of God is most important!
I wear pants because I feel safer, they are not tight revealing pants it’s usually jeans or dress pants. As I was growing up too many men felt free to look up skirts or put their hands up skirts. I’m sure God prefers me to feel safe ce and unmolested
Don't buy into that rape culture bullshit that women who dress in tight or scanty clothing are 'asking for it'. We need to be encouraging our young people to go around nude as much as possible like they do in several parts of Europe, where sex crimes and teen pregnancies are much lower than in the prudish oppressive US.
The works of the flesh can also infer living life on our terms and through our effort, while living by the Spirit is following God's way as He empowers us to live for Him and the Law of Liberty (the 10 Commandments).
I think it is not a sin for women to wear pants. There are enough female model pants. In the time of the Bible men used to wear robes/dresses. Only other patterns and colors. Men decided than women only could wear dresses and skirts
A beautiful spirit is truly the most important thing. I happen to gravitate to dresses because I'm more girly; beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder, though. This message truly touched my heart and is timely. I once had a colleague voice to me that others didn't perceive me as attractive. Ironically, and considering the context of the situation, I'm not sure if she meant it in that way. I was actually replaying this in my mind, so it must have impacted me more than I thought. Of course, there are no accidents and God always knows what we need and when we need it. I pray also for a world that is lost and giving themselves up to unnatural desires; God never does make any mistakes.
I always wear a hijab and I don't show any lines of my body. I wear long skirts up to my ankles. It is difficult to be hijabi but I like being hijabi. By the way, I am Muslim and I love Christians ❤
Im so confused! I really need to stop reading the comments, and focus on the BIBLE! It seems like EVERYONE is on a different page. If we ALL LOVE JESUS and do our best to live right, what is the problem? Can't we ALL just focus on the LORD, instead of being right or wrong!? Only JESUS can JUDGE and SAVE🙏❤️😇
The word of God says, for one person it's a sin to eat meat and for another it's not. Many people try so hard to be right fighters. Not take your eyes off God.. The devil will always find people who will try to cause problems. Don't worry about them. You just stay on path with God, and you will have his peace.
I do not wear pants, only dresses and skirts and they’re long (mid calf or longer). All my sleeves must be at least t shirt length and I completely cover my chest. Nothing see through or too tight. But there’s nothing wrong with women wearing pants as long as they’re not too tight and are worn with a long top to cover the behind and hips.
I guess you know better than God who condemned cross dressing and wearing garments pertaining to the opposite gender. No one gets to define sin. God has already done that for us.
@@beatricepineda5923 theres a difference between crossdressing and simply wearing pants, which is a clothing for either gender, in jesus times most men were wearing robes as daily clothes and it was considered normal, it also has to do with how practical something is, like at colder weather or when excercising pants are more helpful
@@Lecadre2and what is the difference between women’s pants and men’s pants? Aren’t women’s usually tight fitting, which would render them immodest, the truth is there is a garment that if we wear we are disobeying scripture, for me that is clearly pants on women and skirts or dresses on men.
Whether Christian women should wear pants is old “religious” restrictions. No pants, makeup, shaving your legs or cutting your hair is all restrictions enforced by men! Get over it!
Men should dress as men and women should dress as women. More than ever "cross dressing" is being popularised and advertised as progressive. Perhaps I am legalistic? It's sound spiritual sensible doctrine that promotes order rather than confusion.
I wonder too if part of it has to do with intent. If a guy and a girl wear the same shirt because it’s comfy and functional, (not trying to portray yourself as the opposite sex) it wouldn’t be cross dressing cause you aren’t trying to be someone else, yeah?
@@cashwalk7253 I agree. A long time ago I was working in rural Uganda. Women wearing tight jeans were essentially regarded as being prostitutes. The young women in the mission team I led, out of respect for the culture wore baggy tracksuit bottoms or modest dresses/skirts. I confess that I do sympathise with the idea that tight figure hugging garments are a distraction for men. Sadly I expect now that such modesty is harder to find in Christian Africa. A little leaven effects the whole lump of dough!
@@ALuimes Are you sure?! The gay movement, and the arts and entertainment movement sexualises men more than women. That's why you see so many ripped looking bare chested guys in music videos, but 99% of the time the women wear tops.
This is challenging for me. Because I am not and have never been a dress lady lol. Before I was saved yeah I wore things I should have not wore. Now I feel so awkward trying to make myself wear things that I’m really not comfortable in. I wear jeans, if I wear shorts I try to get them close to knee length. It kinda stinks because I have tattoos on my calves.. that I got before I was saved and when it’s super hot out and I have shorts on I feel like people judge me for my tattoos but it doesn’t matter. I rather go to church as I am than not go because I’m so worried if I’m dressed “the right way” I’m coming as I am.
I've always disliked this topic. As he said, trousers had not been invented at the time the verse was written. Men insisting that women wear only skirts has always come across as controlling to me. I'm 100% in favor of women looking like women, but it's totally possible while wearing slacks. Dresses are not practical for all ladies, including me.
The thing is, trousers were invented for women. Specifically, they were designed by Atosha, wife of Darius, mother of Xerxis, for the Persian women who were fighting or following the Persian Armies to war.
Do we forget that Jesus came to free us from legalism, rules, and regulation? Refraining from wearing jeans, because they are too tight is not a reflection of where your heart is with the Lord, whatsoever. I am totally against dressing in a way where it would cause someone to stumble (obviously certain bathing suits, short shirt and leggings in public, short dresses etc) but at the same time, lets not forget that Jesus came to break us out of legalistic views and mindsets - jeans, clothing, - these are not a salvation issue, it's not a heart issue unless it's CLEARLY provocative. Another thing we need to remember is that we cannot control another person's thoughts about us, whether the way we look makes them stumble. Sometimes that isn't even on you - that is THEIR own sinful heart. That is their problem, not your doing. Baggy sweatpants could make a man stumble if his mind and heart are constantly in the wrong place. We dont have to live in a way where we dress like Amish people to please the Lord. That's ridiculous. Its legalistic. Yes, respect your body, respect people around you by how you carry yourself, but don't go to a place of legalism having a mindset like the Pharisees. (1 Samuel 16:7) "Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." Or when the Phariees saw the disciples not washing their hands according to tradition, before they sat and ate with Jesus, Jesus rebukes them for their legalism, rules and regulations : (Matthew 15:2) "Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat.” (Verse 11): Jesus said, "What goes into someone's mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them."
I will never dress like an amish person, but i get plenty of compliments on my clothes, my hair and makeup, none of which is expensive. most of my clothes are well over 10 yrs old, some 20 plus, and any jewelry i have is very old and very cheap, i have fake pearl necklace 30 yrs old that i got for $10, no one has fainted when i walk into church, but they do look and ive gotten plenty of compliments, even if some clothes are from a used outlet!!
@@grayrider1865where in her comment did you read that she “needs” compliments?? She didn’t say that. You projected your own thoughts onto her comment. She’s making a point to state that she can still “dress nice” and it’s recognized without having to adorn lavish attire. Being “modest” doesn’t have to mean dressing in a burlap sack. We can still be presentable and decent without overly focusing on the price tag or name brand of our attire.
Our lives are not our own. Hold every thought captive. We must check our hearts and honor God in all we do, for we live unto the Lord and not ourselves.
Fun fact: Jesus condemned the Pharisees for obsessing about God's word instead of focusing on being compassionate and caring for others. God doesn't look at what we wear. God looks into our hearts. If they're full of love and without judgment, God sees himself. It's never been about what we wear or eat. It's always been about giving and recieving love. Trousers don't prevent women from taking care of others, from sharing what they have, from being gentle and from forgiving.
Women started wearing pants for. the MOBILITY of being able to move around fluidly like male counterparts while LABORING AT THE EVERDAY NECESSITY OF CHORES.
The issue is not the clothes. It's the state of your heart. Our family was in a clique where girls were discouraged from wearing anything but long skirts/dresses and were looked down on if they ever wore pants. Now, as we have moved away from that circle, we observe a lot of spiritual problems in those families. Nitpicking at things like this causes division and judgmentalism. God wants us to love Him and seek purity. What follows is wisdom in making choices. I did research on the women-wearing-pants issue and it's really pretty ridiculous. Pants are considered more modest in some cultures than skirts. Only in Western countries are pants for women more recently accepted. It started during the world wars when women wore their husbands' old clothes to save on fabric and have proper attire for factory work. Besides, if you think about male and female anatomy, it makes more sense that women wear pants and men wear skirts! Also, women are often singled out in this debate while men are let off the hook. Both need to be accountable in their presentation. Yes, men are more visual, but women can be really visual too.
When I'm in the Philippines my usual Sunday outfit comes with a modest dress but when I came here in Canada I wear pants because it's too cold and they don't mind whatever you want to wear, but of course I consider glorifying God.
So let me ask you a question. If you were stranded on a deserted island, with nothing, or nobody around, not even a Bible to read, just the sand under your feet. How would your relationship, and walk with Jesus be. What would your surrender, obedience, or picking up your cross daily really mean to you, if all you had was just your faith the size of a mustard seed, on that deserted island. How many lost, and hurting souls are out there, feel like their on thier own deserted island, and not concerned about the clothing, but the spiritual desire, in a Savior Jesus.
Indeed, I've thought about this too a lot. Especially since I've been struggling to find a good church to attend since becoming a Christian. I believe it's important not to rely on a church or a congregation when it comes to our faith. God alone will sustain if need be. We should all have to examine ourselves and our faith everyday. What would we do if suddenly we were the only Christian left for example stranded on a deserted island somewhere or all alone in a prison cell? What would we do if we were met with the unfortunate situation of having to choose to deny Jesus to save our own lives in this world or die for His name's sake? Many Christians probably in the privileged western world may never even seriously think about these things. But times will get tougher everywhere and we never know what life throughs our way.
This exactly. People overlook the whole message of the gospel and focus so much on the dos and don’ts of Christianity. They get tied up in self righteousness and pride. We must fear God and obey Him, give Him the glory, and serve only Him. Praise His holy name, Yeshua the Messiah in whom is our blessed hope. 🙏🩵
Instead of deflecting with fanciful hypotheticals, you need to deal with what 1 Timothy 2:9 and 1 Peter 3:1-3 clearly show about what God expects of your dress standards and behavior in the here and now.
It's not about people not progressing this is about a lot of new babes in Christ newcomers that are giving their life to Jesus and needing to understand the information though so a lot of people are not walking as biblical terms because they don't know so they have to hear discussions like this.
Wow, what a good teaching. I personally stopped wearing pants some 7 or 8 years ago but that was simply just because I loved to wear tunics, dresses and skirts a lot. I hated wearing jeans especially, they made me feel so uncomfortable and I also loved and still love a lot of feminine stuff. I also used to wear makeup everyday in my younger days but now I don't wear makeup anymore, it's been almost three years since I last did and I also don't really wear jewellery that much either, only earrings and occasionally a simple necklace whereas I wore a lot in the past. At some point when I became a Christian I started to question myself and my motives and indeed I realised I was probably a bit obsessed about these things and the Holy Spirit convinced me to tone it down. Now I dress very simple and plain but I'm still not giving up on my dresses for the sake of comfort 😊

Tell me this, what about women who wear tight women’s pants, which it’s basically almost all of them here in the western world. It’s accentuates all the woman’s parts, as tight as you can get them, you can basically see the outlines of everything, They all look at themselves in mirrors, reflections, and at each other all the time. That’s why women opt to wear dresses and skirts. It’s common sense that’s why it’s still being debated.

-Rachelle
Sex outside of marriage is forbidden in the Bible therefore you can’t justify Fornication or lustful eyes. We must honor ourselves enough to look away
Both Christian men and women should dress modestly. When the outfit is not modest, the men distract the women, and the women distract the men. It's an "equal opportunity offender."
" Man looketh to the outward appearance, but God looketh at the heart"
1 Samuel 16-7
But the heart isn't right if a woman doesn't want to wear a dress and heels!
This verse can't be used as an excuse to dress however we want because it is written that we must dress modestly.

I admire you for sharing your story!
I also wear headcovering, after reading Corinthians, it's seems like a blessing to be covering my hair. 🙏
Re-read the scripture about a head covering. It is a woman's long hair that is her covering. If she cuts it she may as well shave herself bald. Her long hair is her head cover. Same scripture says a man should cut his. Long hair has no place on a man's head. He doesn't need long hair for a head cover.
reading, meditating on and practicing God's Word is much more important.
@Valentinesash Galatians 5:19-21 (BBE) Now the works of the flesh are clear, which are these: evil desire, unclean things, wrong use of the senses,
Worship of images, use of strange powers, hates, fighting, desire for what another has, angry feelings, attempts to get the better of others, divisions, false teachings,
Envy, uncontrolled drinking and feasting, and such things: of which I give you word clearly, even as I did in the past, that they who do such things will have no part in the kingdom of God.
In this verse it is clear that to enter the kingdom of God you must stay away from these things, not about the clothes

Like Muslim women? Or Hollywood women who wear dresses that cover about half their torso or less?
@helloitsjules Dresses also show your figure, and you don't need to wear baggy pants. You could wear drapey pants, or simply loose-fitting pants.
@helloitsjulesHave you ever seen the bodices of most long dresses? They certainly do show off the upper body.

Exactly. I also asked that question on a couple of channels that talked about this topic.

I had deep respect for him and his opinions, but I know that in this case I shouldn't have listened to him, cause he managed to talk me out of my decent behavior, telling me that "it wasn't the will of God that I should dress like that, or not cut my hair short or use headcover, cause God want you to be free."
What a bunch of lies he told me, but unfortunately I chose to believe in him, and I stopped dressing decently, I cut my hair and didn't use headcover anymore.
Do women cover there head just when they leave?

Even at work i keep listening to your preachings. may our God bless you.
It’s totally fine, sister. I mostly wear dresses and skirts but if I ride a bike I wear pants.
@@wendymtzc most people wore like dresses, we now this historically, but just because they both were dresses doesn't mean they were the same garments, no there designs were definitely different, men's skirts were shorter whilst women's skirts were longer and bigger.

Split side skirts are incredibly easy - two rectangles, sew up the sides to the hips, gather or pleat the top of the rectangles to a little wider than your hips. Add a waistband with ties to the back rectangle and the front rectangle. Hem the bottom at whatever length you like. Tie the back ties in front and the front ties in back, and hide the ties under the skirt. There are tutorials on yt.

I do the same exact job as a cna working with mentally I’ll patients and I wear longs skirts only. I’m probably the only woman in the hospital who wear only long skirts. Everyone else wears pants. I have to be obedient to the Lord, not to man. People tried to discourage me out of wearing my skirts saying when we have to do a takedown it will be difficult for me etc etc I said no I’ll be just fine. @Valentinesash then that’s not the job for you. How can you put a job before God Almighty?
Chuckle.

Daniel, 4:15 - 6:12 you've highlighted something so interesting I've never heard being talked about. Thank you so much, brother.

I really do not think that a woman wearing pants matters much to God. It is your faith and worship of Jesus that matters. Some people take things to far
I agree. I think God could care less about that as long as clothing is somewhat modest and isn’t too revealing
And what about other men stumbling? Does that matter to God?
@@monkaZETTA I was just commenting on how everyone is so focused on women and never the man.

Hello my friend, I don't think it is the Jezebel spirit but rather just your flesh, something we are always fighting. God will help you. ❤
"Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm."
Proverbs 13:20 NIV
"Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.”
1 Corinthians 15:33 NIV
It is difficult to swim against the current (behave differently from your friends).
Aww, may God shine His Light upon you, sister in Christ🙏💙✨He'll help you
What about the Christian men? Why is it only women who are preached at about being modest? Men get off so easily, they are not targeted for their clothing or hair or appearance!
Men are targeted for clothing a lot more than women are: Have you ever heard anyone demand a woman tuck her shirt in? I haven't.
Thank you for breaking this down. Great explanation. May the Lord continue to bless you!
Men didn’t wear pants in Biblical times. I would never wear “men’s “ , but I wear women pants. I don’t wear revealing clothing.
I'm a Christian man in my 30s and found a traditional/Gospel Bible based church this year and have started wearing suits, sport coats, and dress pants again. I instantly felt more masculine! I love women who wear skirts and dresses at the knee or lower, they look feminine and modest!
He explains this topic perfectly so listen to him whether you wear pants or not you are not in sin if you wear pants as long as it's not alluring. God loves us and the holy spirit will teach us.

Thank you Daniel for explaining it. I only wear pants for women; but I was getting a lot of backlash for wearing pants in the church. I like wearing jogger pants and sweatpants because here in the USA (Illinois) it gets pretty cold 🥶 I need a good covering 😊 God Bless 🙏🏾✝️❤️
What society deems as men’s clothes is men’s clothes and vice versa as well. The intention behind wanting to wear what a man has and does is what God is looking at in us. He wants us to be who He designed us to be. Men be men and women be women. 😊
But sincerely speaking pants doesn't look good on a woman 😅
He definitely won't look at our clothes
Why wear tight jeans to make men lust? I never wear tight clothing. Only in the house around my husband.
Be blessed the man of God, for u have done what God orders us in 2timothy 4:1....

You can dress and appear modestly and decently but before God it still a sin. God test the heart and looks at motive. This is also crucial

But what determines what is too tight?

I guess you know better than God who condemned cross dressing and wearing garments pertaining to the opposite gender. No one gets to define sin. God has already done that for us.
@@beatricepineda5923 theres a difference between crossdressing and simply wearing pants, which is a clothing for either gender, in jesus times most men were wearing robes as daily clothes and it was considered normal, it also has to do with how practical something is, like at colder weather or when excercising pants are more helpful

Whether Christian women should wear pants is old “religious” restrictions. No pants, makeup, shaving your legs or cutting your hair is all restrictions enforced by men! Get over it!

I wonder too if part of it has to do with intent. If a guy and a girl wear the same shirt because it’s comfy and functional, (not trying to portray yourself as the opposite sex) it wouldn’t be cross dressing cause you aren’t trying to be someone else, yeah?

Good Q & A. Keep uploading more Q & A
Thank you so much Daniel. I never really had clarity on this topic.
There's nothing wrong in christian women wearing pants. It's more covering & warmer too, especially in our brutally cold countries.
The thing is, trousers were invented for women. Specifically, they were designed by Atosha, wife of Darius, mother of Xerxis, for the Persian women who were fighting or following the Persian Armies to war.
Really 😯😯🤔🤔 please could you give a reference to prove this? I've been doing a research on the history/origin of trousers. Thanks.
It’s great that I found your channel 🙂
(1 Samuel 16:7)
"Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart."
Or when the Phariees saw the disciples not washing their hands according to tradition, before they sat and ate with Jesus, Jesus rebukes them for their legalism, rules and regulations :
(Matthew 15:2)
"Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat.”
(Verse 11): Jesus said, "What goes into someone's mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them."
Finally, someone with a bit of common sense! Thank you - there need to be more Christians like you.
I am a man and pentecostal holiness and i got convinced when i got saved about wearing shorts and short sleeve shirts so thats what i do
I will never dress like an amish person, but i get plenty of compliments on my clothes, my hair and makeup, none of which is expensive. most of my clothes are well over 10 yrs old, some 20 plus, and any jewelry i have is very old and very cheap, i have fake pearl necklace 30 yrs old that i got for $10, no one has fainted when i walk into church, but they do look and ive gotten plenty of compliments, even if some clothes are from a used outlet!!
I thank you for this message. Because I came from a church with a pastor who became religious and legalistic and judgemental.
But times will get tougher everywhere and we never know what life throughs our way.
well i guess you would be sewing fig leaves to wear then.

The fact that this is still a conversation just goes to show everyone that we have not progressed at all....
Now I dress very simple and plain but I'm still not giving up on my dresses for the sake of comfort 😊
what do you wear when you play sports? go horseback riding? swimming? no need to dress like an amish.
@@Lauren-vd4qe not everyone does those things lol. Swimming I wear uv sensible clothes. A long sleeved swimming shirt and sort of bike shorts (but bather material).
Horseback riding is well out of my budget 😁 but I'd wear my jeans if I did. I wear jeans on the coolest winter days, with a sweater that covers my crotch. Thanks for asking.
at my age, about 70, although im within 10 lbs of my high school weight, for swimming i wear a normal bathing suit, with longish type spandex black shorts to mid thigh, as no one wants to see old lady legs,ha ha! the rest of me looks pretty good. I wear snug (not skin tight) jeans and a sweater from October to april as its cold where i live, and quite hot in the summer. @@smallbeginning2
@@smallbeginning2But isn't that swimwear even worse than standard bathing suits?
The skin is covered, but with clothes that are very tight and emphasize the body, especially when it gets wet 🤷🏻♀️
I wouldn't feel comfortable in that either.
For 2 summers, I've been looking for a swimsuit whose bottom part is like knee-length cycling shorts and the top part is like a short-sleeved dress, but to no avail. Every year, clothes in boutiques are shorter and more transparent, revealing. It has become impossible to find a normal piece of clothing that is also of good quality. .
Not to mention swimwear.
@@Bea-xc7wy no it's in no way worse. You can Google 'modest swimmers' 'Jewish swimsuit' or even 'halal swimsuit' to find more options.
Seriously how is this still being debated🤦🏽♀️
Seriously God’s word is same forever
This question is brought to poor Daniel by legalism, so he is answering them
That’s what I’m saying that I can’t believe people are still thinking like this.
I know one of the stupidest things ive ever read lol
Tell me this, what about women who wear tight women’s pants, which it’s basically almost all of them here in the western world. It’s accentuates all the woman’s parts, as tight as you can get them, you can basically see the outlines of everything, They all look at themselves in mirrors, reflections, and at each other all the time. That’s why women opt to wear dresses and skirts. It’s common sense that’s why it’s still being debated.
So can you do a video of how we can truly walk in the spirit and how we know we're walking in the spirit.. I'm still learning I'm still fresh in this.
