Good luck with that. ATS is the only brand transmission I will not sell or install at my shop. They will probably build you a quality trans since its a highly publicized build though. One of my many dealings with them is I had one customer drive all the way there from the east coast twice, once to have the transmission installed and once again for warranty. After it got back here, we tried to warranty a couple times, ended up putting a suncoast in and no problems 6 years later. I sold him the suncoast at my cost and installed it for free because I felt so sorry for this old man, he turned into a great customer. That is one of 8 stories I personally know of. I really try not bash a company, we all have off days but they seem to go out of there way not to help you.
Great customer service on your part if you don’t do that pretty soon word gets around and you don’t have any customers left as in some comments here about ATS.
I love gale banks videos…. Although I looked at ats for my 2020 68rfe that went at only 8k miles. Everybody told me the warranty is horrible and the 5 year isn’t worth it because it rarely gets backed. Ended up getting it overhauled with all suncoast parts everything so far is perfect and all warranty costs covered. ( no labor and shipping charges if something goes wrong)
I got a quote once,from ATS, to put an auto in place of my nv4500. I did not go through with it, but they were very helpful, knowing I probably wouldn’t do it.
ATS of course is gunna build a good one for the Banks crew BUT for the rest of us they’re trash USED be good but quality went down a lot in the past years. Hate to bash them but it’s necessary so maybe they’ll get back on track.
ATS does not have a good reputation in the industry, so I’m very surprised by Banks willingness to partner with them. Although I do not have experience with ATS, I’m certainly willing to keep an open mind, but their reputation does not bode well for a successful build.
You think the square tab patent is the reason Gale is partnering with them? I know a few guys who think like Gale and ATS having an ace(s?) up their sleeve is the only reason that makes sense given the circumstance.
This whole series has disappointed me. Gale has suddenly turned his channel into just another infomercial for overpriced crap that can be found cheaper and of better quality elsewhere.

Banks, would have liked to see you use someone local and a true pioneer to the Allison trans aftermarket build. Inglewood transmission would’ve been my vote for you. Mike Lovrich knows this trans better. Good luck though with your choice
We have thousands and thousands of satisfied customers but can assure you that we take our seldom failures very seriously. All we can do is invest in cutting edge machines to make billet parts, top of the line testing equipment to test solenoids; valve body's and three dyno's, to run each trans before ship, and most of all, in the people to assemble them properly and build in quality. Did you have an issue with a product you purchased from ATS?

Mr. Banks, I enjoyed the video, but must confess, I had to watch it a couple times, my eyes would glaze over from all the technical jargon. This is why I had to watch a second time, to make sure I didn't miss anything....
The drivability of a clutch that's going to hold back 1,200hp is beyond terrible. The stronger the clutch the bigger pain they are to drive and that's going to hurt sales. Its why the manual Cummins is detuned with 200+ less torque than the automatics and was canceled a few year back.

With certain transmissions billet parts are the only way to fix hydraulic issues and billet shafts are the only way to keep a shaft from breaking under higher power levels. Not sure what you're referring to there. Have you personally had an issue with one of our products?
All the people trashing ATS- what’s your actual experience with ATS? I’m in the middle of a build and want to know why Gale Banks went ATS but you wouldn’t.
Look up precision transmissions ats teardown, it aligns perfectly with the experiences my friends have had with their products. I'm putting an ATS pan on my tranny, I'm not bashing the company as a whole, just know what you are getting is my advice.
Poor build quality, lesser parts then what your STOCK transmission has, modifying the wrong parts of transmissions (adding clutches where they don't need to be, taking wave rings out for solid rings and causing the transmission to beat itself to death), the warranty is "good" but that's because they're broken all the time and half the time they WILL not cover the transmission since you did it yourself of they don't like the transmission shops you dealt with and say they're "lying". Sad all 3 dodge guys I know had the SAME problem with there transmissions from ATS and none of them lasted a fucking year. 5r110w behind our built 6.4 cruiser/hauler. Stock trans lasted 178k miles.....ATS......less than 7k.... Waste your money if you want, cheaper isn't better. There's a reason there transmissions are so cheap, don't make the same mistake me and many others have.
They don’t back there warranty it’s a lot of fine print. I’m on my 3rd throttle Body and 5th throttle position sensor and they haven’t covered any labor costs from my mechanic and also haven’t took responsibility for the TPS going bad
As a Millwright; You know a guy knows his equipment and metallurgy when he can explain the failure modes in order of power and use case... If I ever build something like this I'll be getting an ATS..
@@ATSDieselPerformance I had to sell the truck , It was undrivable, stage 4 dodge ram 2500 , the worst experience , transmission wouldn't stay in gear , going down hill with a load and it would go to neutral. Then the torque converter wouldn't let go and stall the truck, I ended up buy a 2019 Ram 3500 , and going to stay with stock transmission , they seem to do the job better than any after market built one, it stays in gear on the downhills, 100,000 mile warranty, I make sure I tell everyone that after market stuff doesn't last and never works correctly.
@@AmarilloHorseSports not all aftermarket is junk. People tend to go aftermarket to hold higher power levels, with higher power levels you will naturally get more wear and tear.
Not using an engine driven dry sump pump and a super skinny transmission pan is a missed opportunity to make a world´s first bad a$$ Allison IMO. You could so make it happen. Be a trend-setter. Be the first :D
Putting a ATS transmission in my truck was the biggest mistake I have ever made. They are junk and they don’t back there Warranty. Rough shifting, can’t figure it what gear it needs to be in it down shifts randomly. Junk Junk Junk
From my understanding, get rid of the GM programing and get Allison's stand alone controller. The difference, again from everything I've seen, is a few 100k miles of longevity.
Years of stuff that is trashed. That 5 star torque converter I still have setting in the shop didn't have 40k miles on it with a 450hp bone stock LB7, no lift pump even. Towed maybe twice that was heavier than a zero turn lawn mower. Everyone that had Suncoast converters with Alto clutches the trans would last longer than the engines in front of them.

I have a full billet Allison in my 03 LB7 dually for past 4+ years built by BD DIESEL. Zero problems.
