Chase could make the handmaiden's ladle look OP.
That would be awesome if he did a DS2 playthrough with that. With no hits. Chase is the pvp god though, Squidila or whatever his name is...he is the pve god.
I think the format change to 2/3 to 8 is good, all those duels after each other can get repetitive and invasions are a bit more varied
The ash of war switches during the duels are so fun.
The weapon art on this thing is unironically so cool, idk why I love it so much but it's great.
Because its GIGA DRILL BREAKER.

@Kurewsko Dobry Kanał on the contrary! Releasing the art early makes you strike the ground in front of you causing an AoE. Perfect if they expect it to be another projectile.

I love that you talk through some of the finer points in these videos - delaying attacks because of player patterns, free aiming slower spells and AoWs. It's not just about the weapons, but tactics that make the weapon useful.

I have never seen this weapon in pvp but knowing you you're going to make it look awesome no matter how good it is.
All great spears and heavy thrusting are pretty cracked rn tbh. Save for minor differences in AR and Ashes
Yeah as said above great spears are really solid, and siluria's tree AoW can also genuinely one shot if you build for it (high faith and correct talismans).
I used it all the time til i switched my build. Pretty good spear

Love your videos man! The build variety is always interesting to see, and I love your temperament; a fair amount of PvP videos I've seen have some weird machismo about them, but you're polite and chill while still being good, which is very refreshing lol.
Idk if it'd make for a good video, but I admit I'm interested in seeing how someone might make the Ripple Blade/Ripple Crescent Halberd work to their fullest potential. They scale with Arcane, but you can't change their affinities, so it might be fun to try to find an effective way to implement them into a gameplan.

It’s a compliment when chase hits you with the “very fun fight” after a duel.
Man this has been my weapon of choice for PvE when I first started with a STR/Faith build, love the switch-ups and the poise for the AoW. I agree it isn't ideal for duel situations though but it's a stellar weapon for a Crucible Knight cosplay. Love the showcase and good fights Chase!

I do miss the streams but these showcases are awesome man, can’t complain at daily content either way!
ill be taking a 2 week vacation in about 2 weeks time. Until then streams will be a little inconsistent ,as I focus on making sure i will have daily content for the channel for when im away! That being said there will definitely be some streams before i leave on the trip.

Try the carian knight's sword! it has a normal straight sword moveset, except for it's charged attack which has really high poise and blocks attacks while it's charging. It's ash is carian grandeur, which is not very useful in pvp, but can be surprising for some people. Very cool weapon for int/dex/str.

@@ShadonicX7543 It does, but it's still just a straight sword so you have to be really careful with it.
It's not gonna block much damage and you can very easily get yourself poise broken.

It works like a shield/greatshield attack, the difference is that the shields have block frame during its attack frames, whereas the sword has them only before the attack. The poise broken occurs when an attack/attacks drains you of all stamina.

Eyyy, love my beyblade spear! Ended up being the first weapon I maxed out because I enjoyed it so much my first playthrough as I eventually cosplayed my way through the game as a Crucible Knight. I got pretty good at free-aiming the ash of war on it too so I'm happy you landed that shot with it!

Chase recognizing and commenting on every weapon, ash of war, and tech reminded me of those anime characters discussing split-second moves and powers in fight scenes for exposition.

The weapon art does such high damage at 60 faith, with the Godfrey Icon, Alexander Shard, and Scorpion charm it gets into one shot territory.
Thanks for that really helpful Showcase. I would like to see you playing with curved Swords at one point maybe, dualwielding and mono seems very interesting.
I played as the crucible knights through most of the game and the Siluria's Tree was my favorite of their weapons. Glad to see you giving it some love too
I dont believe all souls-like games dont hire chase for advertise and game-testing. An absolute beast of a player and content creator. That dodge in the end, roll and jump, is pure knowledge of the game, art

ordovis' greatsword and silurias tree have the coolest weapon arts in the game imo.
It’s kind of lame when you are controlling it. But when it is coming at you in the form of an attack it is so awesome looking.
I wish they did more damage tho. Especially the greatsword seems really lacking compared to other faith strength weapons
You make this look easy, I tried to use this weapon in pvp and had a very difficult time(maybe I just suck) but it was nearly impossible to get a hit in with the ash of war. Very well done showcase
Ngl i really love some of the weapons you showcase, could you do the cross naginata sometime? The naginata is my favorite weapon in irl history so I think a showcase of it could be fun
I really enjoy the mixed format of duels and invasions, gives a good sense for the weapons

I ran full Crucible Armor with both weapons RL140 60 Vigor/30 Endurance /25 for both Str and Dex with 48 for Faith.
After using the Talisman to bump Faith to use Elden Stars, I combined Silurias Woe with it while they were rolling. Hit them a few times and the initial follow up blast from Elden Stars finished them off.
It's definitely a Weapon Art that needs certain situations .Works well against Dragon Incantations and the Moon Spells.
Ordovis Greatsword is great too and it's Weapon Art, Ordovis's Vortex, is definitely good when trading. Plus people seem to forget that it has Shockwaves and ran into them. Even those dish out roughly 400 to 600 damage together. Decent chunk.
Definitely fun weapons to use and plus it comes with a kickass Armor Set that looks clean.

You can kinda use the uncharged ash of war as a mix up if they're aggressing you, it does a big explosion on the ground in front of you so it's a nice option to have

Made a RL138 Crucible Knight build using both Crucible weapons and all three Crucible Incantations and it's super fun. The Tree's Ash of War is very difficult to hit in a duel but it hits like a truck if it does. The sword's Ash of War is short range and has long windup so nobody gets hit by the inital hit but since nobody uses the weapon, most people don't know that its shockwave lingers for a bit so they often run into that.

By holding the heavy attack down and moving the camera towards the ground you can do a special tech that catches a lot of people off guard bc the spear gets dragged across the ground

I actually fought the white mouse duelist yesterday, out of the duelist i remember fighting the giant crusher dude, radagon cosplayer, and white mouse as i was doing my patches cosplay, guess i gotta start being the summoned not the summoner lol

Was just playing prophet for my crucible knight siluria build.
Winged scythe and halo scythe both have faith requirements and scaling so I guess its probably just efficient to run those two and take advantage of stats. Thanks for these showcases btw, it's great to see weapons in the hands of a master lol. Can't wait for some colossal swords!

you can actually stack godfrey icon with alexander's for a total of 32% extra damage on the charged weapon art. you can also let the weapon art go sooner when they're approaching you cause it still deals solid damage and it leaves a lingering hitbox like the other storm attacks in this game. great for rollcatching when they're rolling around you.
