The true final boss of Elden Ring isn’t Radagon or Elden Beast or any of the other gigantic all powerful mythical beings, it’s a snail in a tight hallway.

I would argue that BB was revolutionary for FromSoft. It's one thing to have a game that is versatile enough to play with or without a shield (DeS up to Elden Ring), but it's a totally different thing to force the player to not use a shield. To make this work, a more aggressive and fast paced play style has to be built into the bosses and world, otherwise instead of blocking the player is just passive and waiting for a window of opportunity. The rally system, parries from a distance with guns, and generally more complex and faster bosses than any game by FS up to that point all contribute to a very different feel than DkS 1. The mechanics are not revolutionary, perhaps the only major one is the rally system... But to integrate all of these things and make a game that feels completely different with the addition of only one mechanic and the removal of the shield speaks volumes about From. It doesn't feel seriously different to DkS to me, but imagine if your playstyle was sword and board, like many From players with less than 100 total hours. It would be a shock to your system and would allow you to play the more aggressive style in all the other games. The weapon system is different, and trick weapons I think go a long way, but this could have been accomplished with similar mechanics to DkS3/ER with the ash of war system. IMO the only truly new mechanic that isn't a tweak to a previous system is the rally system. Sekiro is VERY different, but I think that's mostly due to the infinite stamina and the posture system. All damage received would deal stamina damage, and when the bar drains it could function as a stance break. If you over-extend and run out of stamina, it would leave you vulnerable.
I think they are both the same level of different. I don’t see how both games aren’t a drastic change when it comes to comparing them both to dark souls. I mean you even laid out how incredibly different bloodborne is to dark souls and then you say it doesn’t feel that different. The only truly new mechanic that isn’t a tweak to a previous system for sekiro is the jumping mechanic. The posture system is just a tweaked stance breaking system that has existed since dark souls 1 even bloodborne had the same system. Both games have mechanics found in the previous games that are changed in a way to provide a different experience. I really can’t see the dark souls in any of these games besides that fact that they are souls-likes and that they’re made by the same company. P.S. have you heard about the game Wo Long that’s coming out in march. It’s being made by TeamNinja, the creators of nioh or the more well know franchise ninja gaiden. I'm sure this has been asked in other videos, but can anyone explain why a katana is allowed to be used when fighting draconic tree sentinel? does it not count because it's just used for cheese and not the real boss fight?
i don't understand why uchi on draconic tree sentinel is allowed, nor why phalanx is used for erdtree avatars among others. Aren't all of those very completable while only using the run's weapon?
I was confused the first few videos I saw but now I'm assuming the use of the Rogier's Rapier's glintblade skill is to add to the poise damage meter that mostly has specific usefulness for the Erdtree Avatar and Maliketh? How much poise damage do the four blades deal when they land?
Flame of the Redmanes at 40 poise damage was definitely a little too high but taking it all the way down to 10 was a massive overcorrection. Around 25 would have made a lot more sense. 10 is basically worthless.

Finally a holy damage ash that’s pretty good
I would love to see you do a no hit run with the sword of night and flame, I wanna see how you build & play it.
beat the game on my 2nd play through with this. decided to upgrade it cause it looked cool and ended up melting my way through the game lol
1:35 thank god they changed it so prelate's and giant crusher charged R2's actually do good poise damage now
This is my favorite weapon
Even against Elden Beast it does good dmg, ~1k+ for a holy weapon is nuts.
A no hit with Cleanrot spear could be cool, got a cool skill on it and it’s not too bad i dont think
DO THE IMPOSSIBLE SEE THE INVISIBLE ROW ROW FIGHT THE POWA

"Ra-dan" - GinoMachino
At first this run was sick then BOOM - full EB fight
i don't understand why uchi on draconic tree sentinel is allowed, nor why phalanx is used for erdtree avatars among others. Aren't all of those very completable while only using the run's weapon?
From my understanding, which may be wrong; for optional enemies, the weapon isn't required.
@@HonestlyApollo pretty sure dts is required though. Not that I mind too much, I'm just happy for more runs
Morgotts swords look like he was casting a phalanx spell, so strange
I was confused the first few videos I saw but now I'm assuming the use of the Rogier's Rapier's glintblade skill is to add to the poise damage meter that mostly has specific usefulness for the Erdtree Avatar and Maliketh? How much poise damage do the four blades deal when they land?
You can check on the wiki, each glintblade does 10 poise damage for a total of 40, the same as pre-nerf flame of the redmanes.
Flame of the Redmanes at 40 poise damage was definitely a little too high but taking it all the way down to 10 was a massive overcorrection. Around 25 would have made a lot more sense. 10 is basically worthless.
8:50 Zuko be like
33:40 when he crouches to duck under the sword
New video? Awesome!!!
