- I hope that you all enjoyed watching me talk about my movie collection for almost 2 hours. Maybe I can start a parody of Criterion closet called Kino Closet where I have my friends come to my house and steal my movies from me.
Remember that the studios can't take the movies away from you if you physically own them. We should all be wary of streaming services after recent events. Also, blu rays are just better encoded than films on streaming networks.
Hope you all enjoy listening to me autistically ramble on about my movies. I'm just a little obsessed...

There is a moment of sheer panic when I realise Kinos collection has a ton of movies I never heard of ... and is obviously more expensive than mine

Impressive collection, dude! It's also rare to find an American that young to be into this type of cinema, and is not brainwashed by mainstream Hollywood pulp. Hats off to you!
My collection of DVD and Blu-rays contains way over 1000 titles, but I have to admit, about two thirds doesn't get 6/10 mark. Plus, it's not easy in Australia to get anything off-beat. Mostly mainstream stuff. If we only lived closer to each other, we'd definitely do some lengthy movie sessions. I love those, and I don't have many friends (if any) who share my passion.

You’ve introduced me to some amazing movies and some have become my favorites and not just the literally me ones, but that is how I found your channel lol I like that you run the gamut when it comes to all types of movies because most people who review Criterion movies just review Criterion movies

Can I please nominate 'Into the Wild' for a review? I really love this movie, and I see it recently popping into discussion in the 'literally me' context so I think it would make a fine addition to that series
I enjoyed your previous video where you took the time to give your reasons for being a physical media die-hard. On the issue of shelf space, I store multiple discs per box, so in a representative example I have 100 different movies in the 40 boxes on one particular shelf.

I have no blu-rays except the ones I brought by accident and a collection a quarter of this, meaning I just end up torrenting most of what I wish. Jealous to say the least

this where we do not agree... NO ONE WILL BE BORROWING ANY OF MY DVDS! if I actually took the time to order the movie and spend money on it then I love that movie and no one is taking it from me. Besides, I don't know anyone who appreciates my horror collection anyway so 🤷🏼♀ Most people don't understand that horror has subgenres and I have a top 10 list for all of them and for certain decades. The amount of times I have told people that most horror films these days are remakes is astounding.
You should make a list on letterboxd of all the films you own.

general note - the new colour grading on the Wong kai wai films included in the boxset was done (overseen and approved) by Wong Kai Wai himself, we can make of that what we like, i don't have an issue with it. If the maker's happy then i am too.

Great video! About Goddard, try Contempt, of you haven't watch it yet. It's pretty unusual for him and the most artistic of his works. And it's his only really great work for me. If you wouldn't like it, so f**k him! But this one is known as a film loved by those who hate Goddard.
