Thank you for posting this! It was exactly what I needed to see. I got some bad gas that stopped up my fuel filter, so I am trying to get the pump out to replace the filter.
Yup this damn thing will start but dies after 5- 30 seconds of running, the fuel injector line only shoots out a splash when it wants to. Just as i suspected, your video just reassures my assumption of a shit fuel pump.... Thanks!
I changed the fuel pump on my 07 420 and now it wont crank. Fuel pump is coming on and cycling like it should any idea why it wont start....it will start and run a few seconds if i use starting fluid but other than that nothing.
Usually a weak pump will make the bike struggle at higher rpm when the fuel demand is higher. Can you make it idle if you give it a little throttle? May need to clean your idle air control valve.
I replaced my fuel pump on a 2008 Rancher 420 but it will crank but not start . It was running fine until I went to back it out of the garage - it died went I tried to restart it backfired and just turns over but no crank .Any idea where to look next ? Thanks in advance !
Great video , thanks for sharing. Is that an after market seat cover ?? Can you share a link to purchase it if so ?? Thanks for your generous consideration, Sincerely ................. God bless.
Just have quick question I have a leak on the top my fuel pump I can’t figure out where it coming from I thought it was the fuel pressure line cause the rubber on it was ripped but u don’t have one on at all and other two lines are clamped on tight so don’t know where the fuel coming from thanks
It pretty much has to be coming from the o-ring in the pressure line or either nipple that sticks out the top has a crack in it. I would start out by replacing the o-ring first.
Great video! Very clear instructions and great info. I'm guessing I got some bad fuel. I'm able to start the engine and run for a little while but then it craps out. Sometimes we make it a few miles, sometimes a few blocks, sometimes a few feet. The fuel line seems clear and I cleaned out the pump, but it's still doing the same thing. Next step is to get a new fuel pump . . any suggestions on what to do next if that doesn't work?
Man I have a question. Reading 1.2 ohms on on side of the terminals from the harness and then 21 ohms on the other. It won’t shoot any gas out of the fuel line. Should I replace the pump?
I need help!! 2010 Honda 420. So my daughter rode and it ran fine. Tried starting later in the day and all it would do is turn over but never start. The kill switch is on run, all fuses in fuse box good, put a new plug in, installed the same fuel pump as you, there is fuel coming from petcock, still nothing. When turn the key on you can hear the clicking then it stops. Battery ran down now, but I can hook my jump start to it and spray a little starter fluid in breather and it starts for a split second.(only sprayed twice) Any advice would be greatly appreciated on the next step to take. Thank You
@@FourwheelerDoctor Thank You for the reply. So I charged the battery up, tinkered with the fuel pump relay and hooked everything back up. Turned key on and off several times and it started right up.
Do you have an email that i can reach out to you about my 2019 or 2020 rancher 420? I swamped it changed all oil and gas it started 2 times after now it wont do anything? I will gladly pay for ur time i just need ideas please.
thanks so much ,, my foreman 500 was dead and it was the pump .. bought aftermarket for $50 and followed yourvideo and it is running fine again
Great video and super simple instruction and camera angles.
Bravo on a perfect youtube "how-to"!

I bet your a huge success in Japan!
I don't know about a success but I am huge in japan. I think I have a shirt that says that. LOL
Thanks, I was trying to remove that green high pressure line to remove the tank to check the valves. They don't make it easy to get to them.
Very helpful video. I got almost the same wheeler just a little newer and am changing at today.
Glad I could help you out and thanks for watching.
Thanks you, great vid

Was that what it was?
Was it the pump? Mine is doing the same thing
Hey! my honda lost some power could the cause be the fuel pump, and in your case did replacing the pump help anything?
My fuel pump is leaking on the bottom do I have to replace the entire pump. It’s still running ok but leaking gas on the bottom rubber piece

Quick question my Honda rancher 420 will crank up and barely idle at high rpm’s it runs fine but low rpm’s it stalls could that be fuel pump!

Make sure your petcock isn't clogged. Also you may want to see if your injector is clicking while turning it over.
Great video

Check your throttle position sensor if that doesnt work
Did that work?

And if the pump goes bad, could there be sludge in the fuel tank that made it go bad? Or do they go bad over time or from sittin?

Have you pulled the fuel pressure line and see if fuel is coming out when you switch it on?

@@FourwheelerDoctor How much fuel should be coming out
@@mattk1358 there should be a pretty good bit of gas come out when you switch it on. I approximate a half cup or so while the pump cycles on and off.
Thank you
What year is the atv?
