One thing about Louis, the songwriter: He’s an eternal optimist.
As a song writer I have to say Louis is a master of the hooks he just paints a picture you can place yourself into. He understands loss at a very deep level but at the same time doesn't treat young love flippantly. He has loved a very full emotional life at a young age. His songs are ageless in a way that young and old can connect to. Empathy is a good word to use with Louis. You guys are there greatest too I've been really been desperate to see your response to this.🌹🌹
Yes, Louis said recently in an interview that he gets why Harry is the most famous one cause he fits the mold of a modern star and he is just happy and proud of him and that's one of the many reasons I love Louis and helps me deal with the fact that he isn't as famous as I wanted him to be and just because I think he deserves more recognition but I now realised that inst the same as fame and he is happy and success cause he's doing what he wants and the people that matters to him are proud of him and that makes me so happy to a level that scares me lol cause i swear i never loved an artist as much as i love Louis.
True. Louis might not be the biggest artist though for reasons I never understood why even tho he has the potential! But for me he is the greatest bcoz no other music makes me feel things like his does and that's more than enough for me.

I think the word you are looking for, Ryan, in describing Louis is relatable...he is very relatable both in his lyrics and just him as a person.
Louis keeps his ticket price very low problem some people buy it at low price then resell it with high price so that’s I can say, his concert tickets range from 40$ -60$- 100$ so yea his ticket price is genuine:)
I'm glad you guys get it. Louis voice is so unique without needing all the frills and tricks used by the average pop star. I love that you understand his personality and recognize it within the music. I've heard people talk shit about his lyrics, but I appreciate the relatability in his songs. This album feels like a conversation with a friend.
There have been a few times in the press where Louis has talked about struggling to find confidence after being the "lesser" singer in 1d (his words, not mine!). Niall has gotten emotional about this, saying that he wishes Louis knew how vital he was to the band and that he hates to hear Louis put himself down. BBC radio played Louis a clip of Niall saying this, and you could see that it meant so much to him to hear, especially after the passing of his mother... Don't know that any of that was particularly relevant, but it's a cute story I like to share.

I liked her from the first listen too :) I have a theory ab SIBWAWC (and All this time) that they both get much more appreciation from slightly older fans, those who used to vibe to Pet Shop Boys or Depeche Mode some time ago ;) They have this old school sound and feeling.

I love his voice. I can understand why it's not for everyone but for me it's everything. It's different and yeah, his accent too makes it very distinctive. Different = Good. Too many artists sound the same to me. But maybe that's just my age.
I really loved the album. It's still rather new to me so it's definitely more the sound that makes me love it right now. Maybe later I will find songs that I get drawn to lyrically. But for now it's the music and Louis's voice. Or that it's Louis period? I just like the guy ok. It doesn't hurt that it has so many 80's and early 90's vibes. I love the familiarity of that too. And I feel it's very Louis. I feel it is his music.

A lot of artists DO sound the same now and one reason is that many of them use the same songwriters, so you end up with a homogeneity across even different genres.

where did you check the ticket prices? cause most of his tickets are cheap, he is very passionate about keeping prices affordable for fans and he doesn't do vip meet and greets and such for this very reason.

i went to louis south america tour and obviously it was still walls tour, but his concerts are UNBELIEVABLY good. the atmosphere and his voice live is such a unique experience, can't wait to hear faith in the future live
Louis and Harry use figurative words in their songs. Makes you deeply wonder and think of the meaning of every phrase or line. Such as Silver tongues and Watermelon Sugar. I have enjoyed all if their songs.

Coming from the UK I like the fact that Louis doesn't lose his accent when he sings, but afraid that is what some people don't like (not Louis fans) if you listen to him talk he is exactly the same, as for been quiet, down to earth, "normal" Harry is also a very different person in his private life, Harry is quite shy when not on stage, I have actually got tickets to see Harry next year, they cost me a lot, but I would have paid double to tick off the only thing in my bucket list 🤣

@@paulajana5966 Nice the fact that you love his accent, but Louis's accent is not typical of the UK, Louis is English with a local Doncaster dialect, it's very difficult to explain local dialects, but I come from the West Midlands and I don't sound anything like Louis, it is said our dialect changes every five miles, but you would have listened to One Direction interviews and see how they all sound different, as your not British pleases let me know if all the boys sound the same to you, I am interested to know that, by the way I sound more like Liam Payne

This album is full of bangers. Written All Over Your Face is a personal favourite but I also love Holding on to Hearthache and Angels Fly. I am seeing him live in London next November and am beyond excited!

I understand what you mean about Louis. Fans noticed long time ago that Louis is one of those really down-to-earth artists (which is very rare and difficult to stay like this after 1D great success). But it seems like he never changed who he was and was the one who did a lot to make sure the other 1D boys stayed down-to-earth too. I think it's very wise of him to know how fast the industry changes. Today you are crazy rich and famous and tomorrow you might be cancelled for smth you never did and trashed and forgotten like you never were. I remember Harry saying smth like this in his interview too.

Louis said he wrote this album to be performed live. I think he said “The Greatest” is going to be his opener, too.
I’ll share some info that might give a better context for Louis’ music. I really hope someone pledges a video for you of Louis showing more of his personality now that he’s a solo artist and passion towards his current music. He’s making the music he wants now and definitely not shy. He’s known for joking around with fans and has a great connection with them. On tour he told them, “I need you and you need me. And I fooking love that.”
He’s always saying to keep going, which is a positive, hopeful message you hear in his music. It’s really comforting and creates an emotional connection, which is what I think RYAN is really picking up on.
He’s loves his hometown of Doncaster and proud of where he comes from. “Common People” is so fitting for this. He has also said keeping his accent when he sings is important to him bc it’s a part of who he is. He’s got a big family and childhood friends that he goes back to see. When I first heard “Common People” & “Angels Fly” I thought he separated themes from his song “Change” which you haven’t reacted to yet.
WAOYF is my #1, but I can pick a lyric from each song to connect with. From Lucky Again it’s “But I figured it out and found my way back to a life I would choose.” That’s all I could hope for - his lyrics are relatable and timeless. I’m glad you liked the album so much!! I can’t wait until he’s healed up and back on tour.

I thought prices were cheaper than I expected, especially for someone as popular as him. I got two tickets for about $120 USD for June next year. I think the location I'm seeing him is at an outdoor stage that many larger acts have played. I'm so excited to see him. I used to go to concerts all the time. I haven't been to one in over 3 years now. I typically listen to alt rock and I'm so excited he went in this direction.
If Silver Tongues doesn't harken back to the 1D days and all their silly antics, then I don't know what does! Loved it!
hi!! i loved your reaction and i feel like a proud mom seeing how you slowly fall in love with his music. I have a question tho. Where were you checking prices for his shows? Because you said they were pricey and tbh its complitelly different. Most of his tickets are like 30-35$ and he keeps it that way second tour too even tho the venues now are much bigger. He always talks about how he wants for all of his fans to be able to see him so the prices are low, his first festival was also free (16k people) and available online too.
First of all, it's really interesting and fun to watch your reactions ...one can sense that you are both really into music and your references show that you know a lot about various artists. As to Luis Tomlinson, half a year ago I didn't even know his name (nor any of his former band members). If somebody had mentioned One Direction to me, I would have said "Oh, one of those boy bands, right..?" I am a woman of your generation and still not a huge 1D fan though I admit they had a couple of good songs back then. In my humble opinion the most interesting thing about the 1D boys is how strong they came out as solo artists. I like what I have listened to of Niall's stuff so far. (Check out his new album and tell me if his song "The show" reminds you of a certain British punk band too). Harry is the obvious entertainer-superstar but like you, Ryan, when listening to his albums I sometimes press the skip button because I prefer some songs to others. To Luis' music I can listen without end. It is this mixture of melodic pop and guitar-based punkrock that really gets me. I guess he was influenced by some bands of the britpop era as well as by Green Day, Rage Against etc. In addition, I can relate to his lyrics (English is not my first language and I might get it all wrong, but anyway ) and his voice is quite special too. To make you guys just a tiny bit jealous:) I will see Harry live on stage next week in a venue almost opposite my home...and I have got a ticket for one of Luis' concerts in August. My only fear is that I might not be able to hear any of them sing so much because of all those screaming female fans. Hopefully, the fandoms are growing...and getting a bit older too.

Lucky Again is probably my favourite, I love the Foreigner vibe 🤩 Bigger than me is spacious, I love the feeling of freedom it gives off, All This Time - major Royksopp vibe, that band knows how to incorporate real instruments into electronic music so it slaps. Louis managed to do it as well)) The Greatest is nostalgic to me, I relate to it way too much tbh, what a great song!

I’ve never been a Louis fan, but I hadn’t listened to a lot of his music either plus wasn’t a 1D fan. However, I really really enjoyed this album! It surprised me just how much I liked just about all of the songs. I guess I need to reassess my view on Louis & his music 😊 I totally agree about some of Harry’s songs. There are a lot of his songs that I just don’t care for. Now he also has some that I love, but I totally know what you mean Ryan. I am a Niall girl but I did love this album.
I wasn’t that into it until Silver Tongues came on and then I perked right up. I loved the songs from there all the way through the bonus tracks. I especially loved the one that sounded like Duran Duran and Coldplay had a baby. I think the Coldplay song you were looking for to compare it to was all of them 😂

The most amicable quality about Louis' lyrics is that he has an ability to write the most honest, simplest lyrics like "Lucky again" but at the same time can write deepest, core lyrics too. Eg: Copy of a copy of a copy, Only the brave. I personally don't think his lyrics are just cute- with that point I disagree. But i loved the reaction it was wholesome.

I know there was a delay with the signed copies because Louis broke the arm he uses to write and sign. But hopefully you can find it. Or later it would be a nice surprise for your grandkid!
