Dude, I was gonna comment (after I watched vid last night) on the significant improvement on the intel graphics 5500 vs the 4000 which I have, but then I noticed the GeForce NOW thing you showed and how quick it was to use despite using the free membership.
I just tried it myself and man...
I practically have a gaming pc, I am beyond mindblown...
so glad you found value in the video! the 5500 has just enough grunt for quite a lot of my game library too, i was pleasently surprised!

Great Video bro. Please let me know if I can replace my X1 Carbon 3rd Gen Motherboard with i5-5 Gen processor BY another x1 Carbon 3rd Gen Motherboard with i7-5 gen processor ?? basically upgrading processor here. Is it a straight forward replacement? Thanks

I do know the cpu is soldered though, so u wud have to replace the whole motherboard, at which point u might as well replace the whole laptop.
Late reply but ok, if u replace the whole motherboard and put everything back together will be working well. But the thing is, I don't know at this point, if that's worth it. Good Luck
X1 Carbons did not use an NVME till the 4th gen this is a 80mm M.2 Sata SSD but they are faster than the old 2.5" Sata SSD variants so when upgrading the SSD you need to be aware they are not actually NVME.

skulls + keyboard and battery mod on the x230? seems like a fair start at least. not sure how expensive the previous gen's keyboards are where you're at though. nice machine btw
Nice, im defo thinking ec mod then 1vyrain, tbh the x220 keyboard is about the same price on uk ebay (or at least when I looked last). what is skulls? Is it a custom bios/firmware. Its not something ive come across

@@TechDave skulls is just a coreboot distribution; it's basically prebuilt coreboot specifically for the x230. 1vyrain is also a reasonable alternative, at least so far as bios replacements go.

Can you please be more specific on the exact drive model and if possible run a disk speed measurement tool (e.g. crystal Disk Mark) and post back the Read and Write speeds of the disk? I have the dilemma on choosing whether to buy a 3rd or 4th gen X1 Carbon (wrt support of NVME drives). Thanks again for all the hard work you put into reminding us how good the Thinkpad series is! u could certainly try! i cant see any reason why not, esepcially if u have a wacom tablet

Cpu is. Pretty damn fast, ram, so so, but generally the feel of the device is snappy, repsonsive and pleasent to use
