What is your reaction when you make a mistake? Do you just cover it up or try to work with it? Tell me in the comments below!

Turned out very pretty! That’s what I love about mixed media, you can always fix what you don’t like 🤔😊

Great perseverance. It turned out so pretty. I'm storing this away for the next time I'm all frustrated and think everything has gone wrong. Thanks so much!

Great mixed media piece. Where did you get your bird image? TFS

Hi Melinda, thanks for watching! I found the copyright free image online (sorry I don't remember exactly where) and then I printed it on deli paper so it's a little translucent. I added a fixative to the top of it before gluing it down, too. Hope this helps!

Stephanie, I love this. And it’s so helpful to show what can go wrong. Do you run deli paper through a printer? It doesn’t jam?

@susancarlson5283 Yes! I tape it to a piece of copy paper and run it through my printer. It's always an experiment on placement, but usually works pretty well. 😁

There are no mistakes in art just experiemnts. That said, what i took from your video is a lack of understanding of your mediums and how they work.. Get a large book, old atlas or encyclopedia, stregthen some of the pages by gluing them together, cover some of them with Gesso. When I have left over paint from a project it goes ino the book, either as a wash or to practice mark making. If i want to try out a new technique, experiment with how different mediums react with each other etc, etc. The end result is I have some pieces that become the background for a work or have turned out so well I can cut out and copy. But best, I learn what how the different paints, inks, stamps and mediums react with one another. For instance, your stamped images are best with a solvent based ink like Stayz On, If you're happ with a layer on your project seal with Matt medium, that was you can clear off any mistakes without ruining your piece. Hope this is helpful and you give it a try

I agree, it's all one big experiment! I have learned a lot since I posted this video doing some of the exact things you describe. 😊 It's all a work in progress! Thanks so much for watching and for your helpful ideas.
