Looking good my guy. I started writing and producing a comic book series in 2020 and by the end of the year (December 2020) I decided to start growing the crown. Coming up on that 1 year anniversary and I’ve never felt more myself. 🙏🏾🤟🏾❤️

Wanted to instant loc but my hair was short and I neither wanted the early stage tiny locks nor did I want to add extensions. Decided to use this year to go on my freeform journey and see who I am at the end of the year. Coming up on month 1 soon.

Hello happy new year🕊….started free forming November 2021 Buh left my hair to grow from scalp since April 2021…
The sides of my hair not forming locks just the top and back
On month 6 now (had to actually look at when I started it) I’m only bothered by my little strands of hair that stick out but other than that I’m loving it.
Same here bro! They’re a little annoying to get used to. Especial if balls are at the end of em. But other than that - happy to hear the journey going well

With your hair constantly changing and maturing more and more how often does your washing routine change and how many times a week do you wash your hair now. How often do you keep your hair covered as well, with me having my hair covered a lot will it effect the way it grows?

How do I keep them from matting when I sleep? I use rubber bands to help when I go to sleep
every time i try to get my hair to lock it, my hair gets dirty so i wash it and it shrinks. i been trying to get semi free forms for a long time now any suggestions ?

Hey bro I added you on ig but around how long does it take to keep them standing? I’m going for a basquiat/cam Newton look if you look at his starting locs. Also when does the crown start? I tend to use the sponge and I’m around 3 months in
Use a brush it will make a crown 10x faster then sponge
Try free The Roots soap it helps pretty good

I’m about 8 to 9months into my freeform journey. Any tips on properly washing your hair without undoing your progress. I always wash it very lightly to not undo my locs coming in

I take a lot of showers, and was wondering is it ok for my hair to be wet? I only wash my hair 2 times of the 5-7 showers I take. So would getting my hair wet mess my locs up in some way?

Hey - great question man, TBH everyone thinks differently about this but I'm someone who thinks your journey is your journey and you can do what best serves you. I actually do my own light taper at home but fully support any1 who wants to hit the barber to get it done. Just too much bread for me to pay haha- especially where I live. Plan on dropping a vid soon on how I do my taper easily.

honestly i need help i have low porosity hair and keep switching between dr bronners and 2 in 1 head and shoulders which one would honestly make my hair loc faster ?
Neither.Don't scrimp on quality shampoo. Our hair don't need much but correct shampoo is vital Personally i like the Giovanni range.
yo I want to start neglecting my hair but if I don’t comb it after I take a shower or wash my hair, my hairline looks ridiculous and pushed farther than it should be. I also can’t go to church and stuff without combing it

Awe bro, as someone who had Freeform Dreadlocks, don’t overcomplicate it. Just let it be, but keep em clean and dry.

Hey man I’ve been trying to get freeform dreads but when I tried last time all I got was an Afro any tips?
When you wash, rub the shampoo in circles and do the same most importantly when you rinse with cold water. Make sure every time you wash it you rub in the same direction.

Month 9 For me nothing has gotten longer but a lot thicker and separated
Had to readjust the washing, which has been hard
I also keep getting soap stuck in the tips if I don't rinse well enough

I am having a hard time keeping my hands off my hair. And I am already at month 9 or 10. My locs are nothing like yours, not many Kongos and they are of small diameters.

I was like that during the first few months. If you have a hard time staying out of it just keep it covered it’ll help tremendously. You still have time for them to Congo up, but you got to keep your hands out your head. That’s a form of separation technically, all the best.

Same here nails! 😂 - It literally takes so much out of me not too. Sometimes end up doing it unconsciously. But I think I want to try saving my seperating until the 1 year mark but who knows 🤷🏾♂️
