Peugeot 508 PSE - STOP!!! Don't buy that Audi S4 just yet.......

  • Against the trend, Peugeot has remained as one of the only European "volume" manufacturers to offer a medium-sized saloon in the once hugely popular D-segment. And in a real blast of nostalgia, they have given us the spiritual successor to the fantastic 405 Mi-16 with this, the 508 Peugeot Sport Engineered. And because its a hybrid, it can appeal to your head....but what about your heart?

Couldn’t agree with you more. I think they are top of the game when it comes to styling the 508.

@@bryanmcmorran782 mate I’ve been looking for cars and the Peugeot 508 is just doing for me I’m glad they’re breaking away from the stigma of being a “bad car” and more into the luxury comfort bracket, lovely review also.

I have a previous version of 508, facelifted, year of 2018. I think it looks great, it's a business and a family car, equiped better than the competitors. Claw design on the rear LED lights is beautiful. The car is non-expensive to buy and maintain, the next generation mentioned here (also starting in 2018.) costs almost twice as much and has some issues since it's a new model (maybe they fixed it in this facelift shown here).
I'm only explaining this because you said Peugeot had no good-looking car before 2nd generation of 508... I think it did :)

I find it hard to sit through a long review, even on a car brand that I admire alot like this one, but i think you have absolutely nailed it.
You have explained to the people what this car is all about and broken it down probably as good as anyone could of in my opinon.
We all, including myself see performance style cars, like this one, as exactly how you explain this car is not intented for.
So! By creating a very informative review on how this car truly shines and what its real inent is, to me, makes this one of the best car reviews ive ever watched.
Give yourself a pat on the back for explaining to us how this absolute gem of a car, really shines :).

Wow, what a charming comment. Thank you so much, I’m truly humbled. I’m glad you enjoyed the review. I do longer reviews as I try to aim them at actual car buyers who might be looking to buy the car, so they may want to know a lot of detail. As an ex-car salesman, I have been asked many things, so I try to cover it off in a consumer style of review. They’re not everyone’s cup of tea, but for those who do like them, I’m glad it’s helpful.
Thank you again for taking the time to send such a lovely comment on the channel, and of course, for watching. Bryan.

Love the review, though my weekend car is an Alfa Romeo GT, my daily drivers that I commute with have been Peugeots of late. My current car is a 3008 hybrid (not plug in) and I do quite like it.

As a 508 gt 225 owner, im still not satisfied with the acceleration, this car needed a 2.0 liter producing 300 hp with a dual clutch gearbox to make this car put a real smile on my face, i love the design much more than a 3 series new bmw model

Certainly would have 1 over the BMW or Audi just to be different.
Great to see you have brought your super high standards over from AutoEV to ICE cars.

Hi! I've had one of those for a month now! I love the i cockpit, it is in the perfect place for me. The only downside is that the gearbox is very slow. For me that is the reason why isn't a good car for b roads. Greetings and good luck with the channel

Can you imagine what this would have been like with a manual box, or a good DCT? Glad you are enjoying your car, and lovely to hear that you went for one in the first place. I loved the car.

I had a Skoda Superb MK3 L&K and changed for a 508 and the build quality and materials on the 508 are far superior to the Skoda. My Superb was plagued with constant buzzes and creaks and my 508 has none. The door armrests and centre armrest on my 508 are genuine Nappa leather too rather than fake leather.

About the electric range of it, i manage to drive 32 miles with mine (the pre-facelift), without even trying to hypermile it. So i guess the WLTP is achievable with this one.

Excellent review thank you, I'm currently looking to buy the earlier pre face lift model, I'm coming from a titanium x sport mondeo with 2.2tdci, so I completely get the a road motorway more grown up view. Many thanks again.

Don't buy Peugeot 508 at all, this is the worst car ever. I'm an owner of 508 from 2019 and to be honest I spent more than 1500 euros on repairs in the last 6 months. Can't wait to get rid of this car honestly.

How many kilometers does the car have ? What sort of repair for 1500€ ?

    • @milan6439
      @milan6439 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

@@melaniezimmermann-jv7th I bought it with 150,000 kilometers on it, and it hasn't been 2 months since I had to go to the service center. I will write to you in my language what went wrong because I don't know the English names for it. First, the ad blue injector broke, which forced the liquid into the DPF filter, and that damage cost me around 400 euros. After that, the thermostat housing broke, which also cost me 400 euros. A few days ago, the cuff of the left wheel went off, as well as some oil-related housing, the name of which I don't know, which also cost me about 500 euros. I would like to mention that before all of this I did a service for 750 euros, which is obviously not a guarantee at all. I have a very bad experience with electronics as well. Plus I haven't fixed the engine mount yet.. I can't wait to get rid of this car. I have all the photos and receipts if you are ever interested.
